  1. Thanks again guys. Can't wait for the new year. Let's see what new projects come down the pipe for us all. As much as I love cornscalas I'm on the lookout for some A7s to restore. A7s with modern drivers at a show with 3 watts driving them ;-). Better than the referbished quad 57s ?
  2. Thanks guys. I'm still learning like most on here. It's pretty awesome what's possible with the help of others.
  3. Brand new B&C DCM50s. (1pair) These were used in a new set of speakers. The Owner also bought BMS 4592mids and decided the the BMS were what he wanted. Selling off at well below list. Normally $350 each. Justin 323-868-9722.
  4. looks great. The big James are is wonderful stuff.
  5. Yes it was dog... No seriously it was cranberry and onion bagels.
  6. Mike Mercer was kind enough to listen to my Kenzie headphone amp with Mr. Speaker Ether C headphones. I've used Audezze LCDs before and loved, but the Ether C took out the room interaction and we so light and comfortable. If you need a reference headphone it might be the one. Mike had the volume 10:30 and the Ether Cs were jaw dropping. Headphones are truly a way to taste reference level sound without the need of big speakers or complex systems. Never had some many good ears listening. They brought and left some great music, fun time by all.
  7. I told Steve Lefkowicz about my headphone amp and the new Eliptrac 240s... He wanted to come hear and brought along some friends. Russ, Stratton, Steve Lefkowicz, and Mike Mercer. My 2 close friends join in to aid with setup. Andy Mawhinney, Art Acosta. My wife and daughter were out of town so setting up the whole house to audition was pretty amazing. After comparing my reference pair of Cornscalas to the pair getting ready to be shipped to NYC all agreed that the big boys were better in every respect. (I still love my pair more :-) ). The big Eliptrac 240 and BMS 4592 throws a huge immersive sound stage. ALK crossing over 300hz and 4500hz proved a wise choice giving the cornscalas a bass speed I haven't heard before. Drinks, Chocolate, and beagles had by all. The system was thunderous with 3 watts of SE goodness. (Ken-Rad 6B4Gs). MBP and Pono as source.

  10. From the album: General

Russ, Stratton, Steve Lefkowicz, Andy Mawhinney, Art Acosta listening to project hulks in my living room. The sound was fast and open. Everything youd want in horns. The bass was more similar to Khorns and cornwalls, likely due to the low crossover point.
  11. They found a new home. Good budy of my decided he wanted.
  12. I'd love to take credit. But this was Dave Harris' project. It was the first to receive the Eliptrac in a Cornwall. Thank you either way ;-)
  13. Truly incredible Klipsch Cornwall with all upgrades to make this one of the nicest Cornscala's you'll ever hear. It starts life with 2 original klipsch cabs with matching serial numbers. The cabs were refreshed by a cabinet finisher and look brand new. The grills are new as well. The tired old K33 was replaced with the mammoth Eminence 15C which is a direct drop in. The original K33 is made by eminence as well. The K700 mid horn and fried K77s are replaced with B&C DE85TN a true 2" driver able to cross at 400hz. The DE85tn is mated to Dave Harris/ Fastlane audio's crazy elliptical horn and is flush mounted into the cabs. Dave built this pair of speaker to prove his horns and the B&C DE85TN fits. Crossovers are ALK which is the only way to go with klipsch products. This is the APT12-500. What you're getting is a vintage set of cornwalls/ with 100% new parts spec'd to kick the *** of even the Cornwall III. Price is firm. 16. I think the adjustability of all the upgrades from various vendors is awesome, lets up taylor the speaker to the driver choices and room conditions, and not forced to just live with it. (I Dial the tweeter to -9 almost always.)
  17. Alk as an upgrade path listed on his site... AA to super AA-X for $95. Its a Cap replacement and rework to become something very close to a universal? The LSIs I had came with new AL3 so this wouldn't work. I upgraded my Al3s to ES500s. After having a pair of ES networks I don't seem to enjoy the lower order stuff... Less my Audio Nirvana 8" which has no crossover :-).
  18. The Snell type Es are well known/loved. The epic are much much more forward. The Snells are more balanced/warm I think... less bass.

They are 3way. You could make a 2way using the eliptrac 400 and any good driver... Cross at 500z... its my favorite sound, but then again most are ok with plentiful HF. I can't stand it.
  20. Sorry I didn't understand the question. Parts express sells two sides two sizes of girl piers. Parts express sells two sizes of girl pegs. We used the smaller size as the female side of the peg presents too large a hole with their larger size.
