Ya ive noticed that, seems almost like they are blown for a sec or something. hard to hear, i think its actually the mp3 or song your listening to. cause it does'nt seem to be like that for everything.

I have noticed there are 2 main volume settings in the play control. There is the play control balance "main windows volume", and the wav/direct sound balance. They both seem to adjust the volume equally. Do i set them both to about 75? or do i put the wav/direct sound to around 95% and the main volume to about 70? what do you guys do?

I have a sound blaster live value "not 5.1" If the new line of sb cards that come out actually have new technoligy maybe i will consider buying one.

green - green, purple - black, make sure digital output is disabled, go to your sound card mixer and set 4 channel.

I got my promedia 4.1's yesterday, i just finished the 20 hours of pink noise, now im gonna take it easy on them for about 2 weeks. Cant wait till i can crank em. My sub is warm, but thats all. They have been running for 20+ hours non stop and the sub is definatly not hot, just warm. They sound really good, not quite what i expected, but still very good. The sub seems more slow and loud than powerful and punchy. I dont know if im explaining this well. Almost seems kinda weak. Should it sound really defined? I can only hear deep base all the time. No perticular sounds. I dont think it sounds blown, some songs song like they have a lot of base ,just not as much bunch as i thought, but still very very good! Ive just been talking with a very smart audiophille and he says that i should run pink noise for a bunch, then take it easy on them for at least 2 weeks. So no loud volume or stressing songs like the thx intro. He says in the long run a good break in is definatly worth it. any suggestion on break in time for the 4.1's?

Well they're set up and im running some pink noise and im gonna break em in i dont think i like them, cause when the base is on super low and the volume is low the base still shakes my skull and makes me feel disoriented "jokin" im not used to powerful speakers. Well they sound about 2 times better than my old speakers right out of the box, will they sound better when they're broken in? cheers!

No, but im sure its more complicated then them working together, all that physics $##@! Im guessing the people who made the speakers are experts and knew what they were doing. I wouldn't think that having the 2 face each other would improve sound, but would actually make it worse seeming the waves would cancle out. But maybe they combine or somethign to work good. Anyways leave it to the pros.

Ya, im going to have my 4.1's tomorrow. Amy told me they are better for computers cause the 5.1's are more for HT. Anyways if they are 5.1 i cant imagin them being any lower than $150-200 more than the 4.1's, which is damn expensive. Besides i would have to upgrade my sound card i only have a sblive right now. Its outa my price range and they 4.1's are great, so im not gonna worry about it. i do have a dvd player in my computer but im sure downmixing to 4 channels will be good. Its this or the creative labs dtt3500's, and im not stupid. So klipsch here i come!

MMM 4.1's in 2 days i can taste that Isht all ready! Im looking forward to crawling around my room looking for the sweet spot for the sub,, and redoing the wiring. BWT if the 1/8' plugs it comes with are lose, wouldn't all 1/8' plugs be lose too? or is it the actual plugs and not the fitting.

Im getting the 4.1's in a few days. I hear a great way to place the sub is put it on your chair where you normally sit. Then crawl around the room and find the spot where the base is the best. then place the sub there. I can picture myself crawling around my floor in 3 days

Opps. didn't read your whole response, For quality and good 2d get the RADEON 32 meg. If your not really into gaming the 64 is'nt worth the extra money, considering it does'nt make a huge difference over the 32 meg. The radeon has great 2d and great image quality, Geforce has raw speed and shitty 2d. hope that cleared it up. This is comparing the geforce 2 to the radeon of course. Im not sure of the geforce 3 but it sounds like its a bit much for what you want.
