  1. Dave, I downloaded the software from this site you suggested - http://www.alpinesoft.co.uk/ I've done one album. I really like the features, just not sure about the quality yet. The features are geared toward LP Albums for sure. I'll post again after I have my tracks split and get a real feel for the quality. Thanks for the post Joe
  2. Well, lots of good reading. From what I have read at this point, I still haven't heard of an easy way to convert my LP Album collection to wav lossless format. I have elected to stick with wav files because storage is just not that expensive these days. I'll just buy more hard drives when I run out of space. Again, I have used three or four different third party apps to accomplish this. The end result is a wav file in lossless format. I don't have any complaints about the quality of the wav file. The real issue for me is the time involved, as it is mostly a manual process. You can either take the time and do one track at time, or record an entire side of an album and then spit it into tracks using the software. Either way takes a considerable amout of time.
  3. OK. I wasn't very clear I'm good on ripping cd's. I looking for an easy way out to rip my LP Album collection of 300 - 400. Whatever app is used, must have the option to rip from an external source. In my case this would be an output from my pre amp to allow me to use my turntable.
  4. Anyone used a good Windows based software for Lossless WAV's? I have almost all my CD's ripped in lossless wav format. I've used Windows Media Player for this task. What I am really after, is a piece of Windows based software that would make convertng 300 - 400 albums to lossless wave format easy. I've used a couple of different softwares that will do this, but it's hasn't been easy. Any suggestions would be appreciated
  5. I have never seen backs like this. Here is what Grooms said about them: They are from a piece of 1/2" birch plywood where the top layer piece on the right side is "normal" birch and the left side is (I'm pretty sure...) birch "sapwood" which is much darker and normally not used in standard "furniture" grade plywood.
  6. That's too funny! I made a 5.5 hour road trip and now I have a pair of Heresy speakers. Hope I can get my grills back on after I rotate the woofers, lol! []
  7. Beautiful! I have a set of Cornwall's and soon to have a set Hersey's I would like to do exactly like this. Great job!
  8. Thanks for the info guys. I wish I had investigated this prior to upgrading the caps on 82 Cornwalls about a year ago. Oh well, wth. This will be a quick fix on these and now I know for the cap upgrade on my Herseys.
  9. So, I suppose the same would hold true for Cornwalls?
  10. Great Deal! I always here about these.
  11. I've seen a few post suggesting the woofer be rotated 180 degrees. What exactly does this accomplish?
  12. Anyone used Carver gear with Khorns? I was curious about the TFM amps?
  13. Nice! You keep them both! I always hear about these deals! LOL
  14. I have a pair which were bought new in 82. I recently recapped the xovers with a kit from Crites. I would do it again for sure!
  15. Nice Work! These pictures really make me want to tackle a pair I bought new in 82. They were unfinished birch which have been stained.
  16. I have also used the Sleeve City products. I have about 350 or 400 to do. I have done about 275 to date, with good results.
  17. I've had a Phase Linear 700 Series II and a Carver TFM 55 rebuilt by Roland @ carveraudiorepair.com. Check out their web site should you decide to let someone do it. I am very pleased with both the amps they worked on for me. I bought the TFM 55 off ebay, played it a couple of times and sent it to Roland. I have really enjoyed this on since the rebuild.
  18. Thanks! I re-wired them with 14 ga.
  19. I have replaced the caps on the B2 crossovers with the kits from B&K. Should the wiring from the crossover's to the the drivers be replaced? This wire appears to be 18 ga. It is the original wiring from Klipsch. These are 82 models speakers. Thanks,
