  1. yes, i was wondering with the wide dispersion of the rs-62s whether it was okay to mount them high but i guess i can find a way to mount them lower. Would the rs-62s be okay with my rf-82s timbre wise? Also i really need some input on my other question about a amp, 4 ohm 200rms speakers make this difficult
  2. Okay it has come time to seek advice from you knowledgeable people again. Question one: I am selling my secondary audio system to my parents, The speakers are 4 ohm speakers and are 200wpc rms. I have an older sony str-69gx receiver from 1992 which is a solid receiver (build wise) and was $600 at the time. There is a little white noise coming from the speakers and also i do not like the sound the receiver produces so i am looking for a solution. Would i be wise just to add a 2 channel amp to the receiver (it has preouts) and use the receiver as my pre/pro or will i risk still getting white noise and that sound i do not like? Question two: I am looking at maybe getting some rs-62s in the future, would these match okay with my rf-82s? I plan on getting the rc-64 when i find one too. Also i do not have parallel places to mount the speakers, it would be a little easier if i mounted them above a window near the ceiling, would it not be recommended to have them mounted so high? Thanks for the input guys
  3. I would get the VF-36 for your next buy. The 606 isnt the most powerful receiver but it can handle hd codecs and it will have no problem pushing your 5 speakers to good level. Havent heard the vf series but i would think you would be satisfied.
  4. Set speakers to small since you have a sub, well my receiver wont even let me use a sub when my speakers are set to large. Also you may consider picking up a blu-ray player with analog outputs and onboard decoding so you can take advantage of hd audio. My bdp-320 only cost me $100 on ebay.
  5. you would not be hard pressed to find rf-82s for that price
  6. yes they are 82s, i love them i need a 64 so bad, and eventually some surrounds and i wouldnt mind moving to seperates and blah blah blah. Yeah i have seen rs-62s go for that, you shouldnt have a problem. Are all of your speakers cherry? Thanks for the compliment, my system looks cleaner how it is right now but i wanted to show the sub and its silly dust cover. I am using an older sony receiver to power my surrounds as they are 4 ohm tower speakers, really dont like the sound of the sony receiver but dont want to risk the low impedence on my older pioneer receiver.
  7. oh okay, i am looking for a local pickup (dont want this brittle beast shipped to me) plus yours is cherry. As far as pricing goes i think fair prices would be $1650 for the 83s, $500 for the rc-64, $550 for the rs-62, $1300 for the rf-63s, $450 for the xpa-3. I am not sure if these are accurate prices at all but thought i would chime in, someone else should know better than me but its a start! I have never had any of these products so that shows my knowledge base of their resale. Now if you feel that my lonely rack needs filling you could give me an incredible deal on that emotiva[] just got this new tv and have since put the sub in the back of the room and put the audio rack on the other side
  8. DJ where are you located? I see i am thinking about getting rid of my stuff and rc-64 in the same sentence and i have to ask.
  9. Nice find smokaz i believe you once said you never got anything good in your area[Y]. I watched toy story tonight on lossless and thought it was good. I still got to do a few tweaks on calibration. I am running preouts to an older sony receiver because my surrounds are 4 ohm tower speakers so that is a funky setup too. Feel like my room is a little small for the amount of sound the system is capable of. I need a rc-64 in my area. What movie was that by the way smokaz
  10. finally smokerz cant believe you are making us wait so long! My new blu-ray player is ariving today I will try to make you jelous of the lossless if i am indeed blown away.
  11. i remember when i was selling my 52'' sony lcd i got the best picture by taking it while the movie was playing. Cheapo $100 camera. I took the picture when there wasnt alot of action on the screen
  12. i am surprised they dont have a big annoying blue light (like my paradigm does lol). They really arent too asthetically pleasing are they? Didnt see how much rms they were but 500 max?? Not great for $600 imo
  13. HAHAH that is hilarious. Are you around michigan? I have been looking for a sphinx cant maybe you have one or connections. Let me know
  14. i second the ps3. PS3 is by far the best, you really should consider the analog outputs though!!!!
  15. why are you even considering one without analog outs smokaz?? If you can get the funds togethor i would say the LG-BD390 would be my choice of players, you could find one for under $200. I just picked up a plioneer bdp-320 for if i ever get a theater togethor ( need a tv still lol). Got it for 100 shipped. Supposedly one of the slowest loading bd players but i did my research first and it is the one i wanted[]
  16. Anyone know what these are and would they be worth a buy? Guy said they do not have stickers or brand on them but i see the dual binding post
  17. Looks great. Post some more when you get up to moving the blu-ray player down (unless you dont plan to which would be a shame with that projector). I am going to stop by best buy tomorrow and see if they have any left. Why not bring all of your equipment down there with your projector and just use the tv for tv watchin.

    .

i have always wanted some cherry or other wood speakers. I have two 2.1 setups both in black unfortunately. I would recommend black to answer your question though.
  19. wow amazing screen! Great job. How big is it and how did you make it? I really wouldnt mind getting a projector
  20. Haha wuzzer very funny!!! By the way your cursor in your sig is very busy
  21. i got a bell'o recently and love it. AKA bell'oggetti it means beautiful things.
  22. are you adament about buying from authorized dealers for the warranty? I was thinking about getting my rc-64 from fleabay
  23. I bought a pair of perfect F-3s for $275. I was going to use them for surrounds but ended up not having the room. You do not want to buy f-3s for $500 especially if they are damaged. During black friday a few years ago they had them for cheaper than that. Look for some used rf-62 or rf-82. I got my rf-82s for under $500 in perfect shape. Check your craigslist and good luck.
