  1. Hey ear, I think he wanted "reasonably priced Klipsch speakers". Mabey because I'm not even 16 quite yet, or what, but I find The speakers you listed to be little bit to expensive for a small room. -think of the gear you'd need. But I agree it would be nice! ------------------ Matthew Gatta' love klipsch
  2. sorry about the sony, kenratboy. It's funny, exept for a little more hiss, my sony minisystem performs better then all the sony recievers I'v herd, and it's rated at 80W RMS. Weird hey? Weirder is, at 8 OHM load, the sony you baught was rated by consumer reports to put out 131W of power. It may not be clean, but it should be loud on your JBL's. I'm guessing it's something to do with the settings on your reciever. It "should" be pretty loud. What were you useing before to drive your speakers? ------------------ Matthew Gatta' love klipsch This message has been edited by matthew2 on 12-25-2001 at 03:28 PM
  3. Jusin, I just baught the 300. I didn't need the 400, and I hate MP3. So anyways, it is a great player. Lots of cool features to play with every once and a while, and has both optical, and coaxial output, and two AV outputs, which I never thaught I'd need till now. You have a very good player, and I think will be very happy with it. Im crankin' some AC/DC on myn right now and love it. The mids and highs are more foward on my system. (Untill I get some horns, wednesday!) ------------------ Matthew Gatta' love klipsch
  4. Well, I am buying RB5's wednesday for $740.00 CDN, and am very happy. They are in good condition considering the're floor models. Anyways, I can't wait. I hope I like them. They are going into my bedroom, and will be used about 50% for music, and 50% for movies. Does anyone have any ideas about how they will perform in a small room? Will I be able to feel the bass? (Music) I DON'T expect earth shaking bass, as should no one else from such small speakers. How do they compair to you against other klipsch shef speakers? Are they loud? (I'll be about 6 feet away, sometimes 4 or 5) Thanks for any input you guy's (Or gals) may have in advance. Ps. One of the wofers has the smallest, (mabey .5mm) indent. And the smallest (4mm squared) discoloration in the finish)Wanna make me feel better about that? haha Thanks, Matthew ------------------ Matthew Gatta' love klipsch
  5. I just baught a sony DVD player. Single disk, but it's great. Awsome picture, sound is cool, and has both optical, and coaxial output for AC3 & DTS. It cost me $318.18 for the player, and a DVD. ------------------ Matthew Gatta' love klipsch
  6. I thaught the movie was cool, and fun to watch. May not be "good", but fun. Kilowatter, what do you mean the format is in full screen? I hate movie's in 4:3. Is the DVD able to go into letterobx? ------------------ Matthew Gatta' love klipsch
  7. Unless you have a really good cable for optical, I would go with coaxial. It should be better. With a high end optical cable, you might want to use that. Try both if you allready have cables, and see what you like more. Im not sure on that by the way, not an expert ------------------ Matthew Gatta' love klipsch
  8. Sorry to here about your job Ray, Anyways,Bose makes LOTS of factory stereos for cars. However, for me, I like my stereo to be VERY loud in a car. It needs to hurt the chest, and shake the windows out of the car. Rockford fosgate is my hero in cars, as Klipsch is my hero in home audio. A car stereo for me needs notonly to be loud, but to sound cool. Not like music, but like cool speakers, that sound cool..Not breathtaking dynamics and other such stuff..But PURE SPL, with tons of un-called-for Boomy, get arrested for bass.. But thats just me. Car audio will never sound GOOD in a practicle way. Anyone agree with me?? ------------------ Matthew Gatta' love klipsch
  9. Why do some klipsch dealer's only sell some of the klipsch speakers? Why not all? The dealer here only sell's synergy and reference, and only a select few of the reference. I'v never even seen a heritage klipsch speaker before! (Or more importantly, herd one before) Also, does anyone know if klipsch is going to release a new line of speakers any time soon, and if so what kinds of things do they have in mind? Just wondering, Thanks ------------------ Matthew Gatta' love klipsch
  10. I am planning to buy a DVD player tommorow. Im not wanting to spend over $300CDN, and am looking at brands like panasonic, pioneer, and toshiba, as well as sony. No progresive scan is needed. Any Input would be great, Im very concerned about reliability, and how well it plays rented disks. Thankyou in advance, ------------------ Matthew Gatta' love klipsch
  11. The RF3's are great, and with not to pricy gear, sound great. Many people on this site have tube amps, and other high end stuff to run there heritage speakers, and must sound great. The reference seris may not compair with the same gear as well as other old klipsch speakers. Depending on your gear, your ear, and your room and listoning tastes will help you make at a decision. ------------------ Matthew Gatta' love klipsch
  12. "The Rock" All the shooting and death and screaming...so loud and just wants to be cranked. ------------------ Matthew Gatta' love klipsch
  13. Look at Technics? I know its not one of the other brands you mentioned, but it sounds nice with RF3's. There is a hiss at higher volumes, the RF3's dont use a ton of power, and you may put up with it. I will probibly get that as my firs reciever, until I can get something really nice. Iv never really liked "high end middle of the line type stuff.." ------------------ Matthew Gatta' love klipsch

  15. Im not an expert, but I can try The tweeter in the RF5 and RF3II are diffrent. However I do believe the actual driver is the same size. I think the RF5 has a bigger horn for a bigger sound, and/or for looks. The real would finish on the RF5 is also going to raise the cost. I like Black speakers, so far the RF3 is my fav. The dimentions are diffrent as well. I think the RF5 it is bigger for reasons like sopund coming from the speaker, and bass. The two speakers, for me sounded great. I went back and forth, even though the RF5 did have a slight diffrence in sound, the RF3 sounded allmost as good as the less expensve gear I was testing with. With the right equitment, you will get a very good sound from the RF5's, but with normal priced stuff, unless you LOVE the wood finish, the RF3 is a better buy to me. When it comes to the reference seris in my opinion, I would not get the RF5's. RB5's (Size and looks) RF3's (bass and sound + Value) or the RF7's (all the above x10) Remember, Im no expert. This is jet what I believe. ------------------ Matthew Gatta' love klipsch

    dolby digital

Oh ya? Think thats wird? On the VHS titanic movie, (no Its not myn) it says Dolby digital on it. Whats with that? ------------------ Matthew Gatta' love klipsch
  17. I'll trade my old (Vintage) RCA boombox..ya, for a new pair of RF-7's, and a decent set of components. You may have to pay the diffrence though.... ------------------ Matthew Gatta' love klipsch
  18. Very nice setup. However, I cant but not say something about your computer..Why is it in the air? ------------------ Matthew
  19. Rf5's? Cool, but for a tube amp I herd that old klipsch speakers rock, and have LOTS of midrange and highs. ------------------ Matthew
  20. There is only one klipsch dealer in town here. Oh well. Ill ask for 1000, and say I wont go any lower. That dealer is crazy. They have JAMO speakers on all the time, and ot klipsch. ------------------ Matthew

    Metallica

Hey when is the new Metallica CD coming out. Iv been waiting for a long time..Will it be out on DVD and SACD???? Thanks ------------------ Matthew
  23. Thanks guys, glad to know that I'm not being ripped off. I DO believe that it is still a lot of money. Why do cables make it cost so much? I'll ask for $1200..see what they say in the next month or so. ------------------ Matthew
  24. The Rf3's at my dealer cost $999.98. I wanted to get a pair, but the only one left was in bad condition. Now I can get an RF3II. Why does it cost $1400?? Its in canadian money, but it shouldnt be THAT FAR off the Amereican MSRP, right? PS. Is the RF3II higher quality now? Is the crossover higher quality, and does the speaker sound diffrent now? Thanks. ------------------ Matthew
