I've got a new name for your "pre amp" Let's call it a "pre attenuator"

Congratulations. I'm envious, 'nuff said.

Yes of course that is possible. I'm getting a clearer picture now, sorry. So the power amp feeding the LaScalas does not have gain controls? I am assuming the Monolith does have a level control and you have it maxxed.

OK I wanted you to get set up to run tones through the Freya and into the Monolith sub. It looks like the Monolith is made for HT and I am not understanding why it does not have enough gain reach to work with the Freya. That said, true to form the Monoprice website does not give very much info(read none) about what level is needed to drive the sub. My fear is it is defective. Has it ever worked to your satisfaction with any other input?
-
Do you have a way of sending a test tone say 35 to 40 Hz through your whole set up?
-
Have you tried "Y" ing into both of the RCA inputs? Or are you already sending a pair of signals to the Monolith?

Are you talking about true bi amping? If so you are going to need an active crossover between the EQ that is serving as your pre amp or a real pre amp and the separate amps for the low and high sections of your speakers.

What frequency is your meter using to measure ESR? Usually it's 60 or 120 HZ. If that's a tweeter circuit cap the ESR MIGHT NOT be that high at High freqs. I'm not telling anyone not to use better caps though.

Is he going to market these?

This and a real A/B/X tester like A/B/X Corp used to make would go a LONG WAY sifting through BS. Imagine testing 2 cables on this Null tester first and the result is the difference is 80 dB down. Then put the 2 cables on the A/B/X tester and listen for the "difference". It doesn't even have to be a blind test, just tell me you can hear a difference.

You will be able to use the Denon, no problem. Run the pre outs for the front 3 to the Emotiva, they will shine with the extra watts provided. This will allow the Denon's power amp section to have extra power available for the surrounds when you get them.

They showed up at 2 o'clock and came over to help me. What a difference the second set of hands makes. You get done more than twice as much as one person in the same ammount of time.
Wouldn't that be 3 sets of hands? Oh I get it SIL was second set of hands and daughter kept wife occupied and out of your hair, er,ah I mean out of your way.

Royal Oak? Wouldn't that be Royal Oaks? As in the Queen said "we are not amused".
Where is that dang tree anyway? Lived there my first 25 years and never saw it.

If you Gents can.....watch Whiskey Cavalier on ABC at 10pm Wednesday. A good bud of mine, Peter Barnett, produced it in Paris and Prague this past year.
Did he move to Prague too? Lead actor says he has moved his family there and they ain't coming back.

Looks like the Klipsch P/N is 121501 on that bastard woofer. Someone at klipsch should be able to ID for you. Maybe even Cory @MetropolisLakeOutfitters ? Call Klipsch 1-800-554-7724 and go to the Pro side. I can't remember what option that is.

Differences in uF values of caps is very MINOR sonically
I can't not make a comment here. THE CAPACITANCE OF A CAPACITOR DOES NOT MATTER? Oh I'm sorry is "very minor" You heard it here first folks.
Now I 'm questioning the voltage rating of a capacitor, does that matter or have any meaning?

My house is on a slab out here in CA. Even my daylight basement is on a slab. But I made sure when I built they didn't put any pipes in the slab. Can you imagine the builders to save money put pipes in the slab and then let the homeowners remove their flooring and jack hammer the slab to fix a leak? Or they seal off the pipes that leak and THEN put the pipes overhead. I put them overhead from the get go. When they leak(knock on wood) I'll just have drywall to fix.
