Since all of his stuff is "local pickup only", anyone know where that is? I can't seem to find anywhere that lists it on his site.
I think they will ship 4 packs of any of their first three offerings. So maybe do a group buy? Or go crazy with all 4 all for your own.

@LTD02 Welcome to the Klipsch corner of the internet. I spoke briefly with Kevin after @Westcoastdrums turned us on to your new venture. I am definitely looking forward to horn loaded designs that can be made from CNC machined flat packs. Very cool. Thanks for all your efforts and best wishes on your new business.

Ok sorry, I guess I don't know what moderator means.

Pretty much but what do I know. I wore an SVS shirt to the Pilgrimage one year. I didn't think anything of it till Chad called me out on it.
Well I was thinking/hoping that since you're a moderator you would know more as to why some people who made "upgrade" oops sorry "modification" parts for Klipsch speakers are no longer around.

If his avatar is that blue head in the picture I know who you're talking about. He knows his stuff.
Yep. I have wondered for some time with all his knowledge/effort when he (and partners) would try to make a go of it. Mucho cool.

Cool.
So they would be welcome here for their expertise as long as their posts don't say buy our stuff, to heck with that Klipsch stuff? Correct?

@babadono, there you go. Your jubes found a playmate. Throw an 18" B&C driver in there and rock it.
Maybe....but I spoke with Kevin the other principal at this new GSG company briefly yesterday. He says horn loaded flat packs are coming if they make a go of it. Super nice guy BTW, thanks for his contact info @Westcoastdrums And they're local to us!

Hopefully he makes a go of it with this business, very cool. Always thought Erich at DIYsoundgroup offerings were nice but limited especially after Stonehenge and the anarchy went defunct. Maybe this guy will do an F20 flatpack, that would be really cool.

To each his own of course but that sub WITHOUT the matching Heresys is a non starter for me.

I've heard you can do the "9v battery test" with tube amps. Remove all tubes, turn on amp, then stick your tongue on the sockets to make sure they're still sending juice to the tubes..
@mswanson65 I have no idea of your experience/level of expertise ---DO NOT DO THIS.

I stopped loaning things out, it's cheaper to just go help someone and bring my tools back, with my memory anyway.
And downright neighborly as well

Anyone borrow it? Sometimes I lend things than forget that I actually let someone use it.
Then when(if) they bring it back it's like Christmas Of course if it still works.

This is a muting function of the Xilicas to kill quiescent DSP noise--coming out of mute. The mute-off cycle has a ramp-up period that is probably in the 0.4-0.5 second range so that you don't get an immediate "pop" once the unit comes out of muting if you accidentally short an input terminal--thus saving your loudspeaker drivers from a nasty transient.
Since this has never bothered me (i.e., understanding what that feature is doing as a fail-safe), I've never really thought about it. I can say that the Xilica is dead quiet quiescently because of that feature, and is much quieter than the Yamaha SP2060 and even the Dx38 in that regard.
Chris
How long does the signal need to be not present for this auto mute function to kick in? Or are you talking about the mute buttons? I have nowhere near the experience with my unit that you have but I have never experienced this.

Personally, I think we should chisel that last one into granite and hang in a conspicuous place around here somewhere.
So it does make a dimes worth of difference

There is an audible latency and volume changes associated. IOW, when the disk or stream starts the next track it may miss a few notes or start soft then come up to full volume after a second or so.
Very interesting. I thought latency was just a time delay for the signal to get through the A/D--->DSP---->D/A process. But you say notes are missing?

Nope, big mistake. Give some thought to what a ball of soft bread will look and taste like after being fried in very hot oil for over 30 minutes?
