. Kick drum transients are really insane, and the set up begins to shine as db's begin to increase.

And you insisted on keeping the DBX out of the circuit. You should hear it with Impact Restoration engaged. Well there's always next time.

I think you are referring to Chief Boneheads excellent extremely dynamic CD that I played for you.

    BTW thanks @dtel

How Wide is that room ?

Also, how is the Phantom Center, with the Jubes spread that wide ?

According to my blueprints of house they are approx 27' apart. Because of the 402 horn I do not experience a hole in the middle like one would with KHorns that far apart. This system is thus far only for 2 channel listening. If it were a 5.1 or 7.1 set up of course a center would be necessary.

I wonder if your room is a bit reflective though??

Wonder no longer. Room treatments are in order, they're on the list. You know the list of sheet that needs getting done. You know THAT list.

Electrician said "oh you're gonna wanna put a TV up over the bar trust me", that's why there is an outlet and cable feed up there.

Hmmmm, would love to hear the pair one day.   Awesome 🔊.  What are you powering them with?

Yea I know I put you off asking for you to wait until they're more dialed in but you're pretty local. Schu came through town from Las Vegas. I couldn't say no. The bass bins are powered by my old trusty Boulder 500. I know you're from the LA studio scene perhaps you are familiar with the Boulder? The 402s are powered by some old Crown D75s that I refurb'd.

I don't have that particular remote but I've taken other remotes and car keys apart when they stop working.  Normally you can clean the magnetic pads with a pencil eraser and then alcohol swab.  Some remotes are harder to get apart than others but eventually they all relent.

I've had remote controllers crap out on me as well.  I have not had any luck in fixing/cleaning.

I replaced my Onkyo 717 remote with one from China for $7 shipped.  It works with most of the features but several of the buttons were simply left off!  What I'm saying is if you find a cheap Chinese replacement, look very carefully to make sure it is exactly the same.

The universal remotes like the Logitech 650 for $38 is a pretty good replacement.

Ah yes they relent but do they go back together? And work?:)

I've already got a Logitech but it doesn't work with the smoked glass doors shut:sad: The marantz doesn't work all the time with the doors shut either.

  6.  So I have a Marantz AVR, SR7007 I believe and the remote will not adjust the volume. It makes sense sort of because we are always turning the volume up and down,. I mean it is by far the button that gets used the most. So anybody successfully taken one apart and cleaned/fixed? Its a RC016SR.

But more than anything it's the quality of the bass with music, I used a DIY copy of a spud and heard Luther's larger design like that which I can't remember the name, which was not DIY and neither can even come close to the quality and clarity of this design. I told Roy he can forget it, he is not getting it back no matter what, it makes everything sound better.

I want one so bad I can taste it. C'mon Klipsch, do I really gotz ta buy an 1802?

"Yep exactly how mine looked too. Well at least as far as the diaphragms go. Wiring may have been a "tad" different:). Definitely different now cuz I replaced the binding posts and wiring"

Got some pics?  Replaced because they failed or some other reason?

Weird I never got a notice that you quoted me. But yeah there's some pix, let me find 'em. And no there was nothing wrong it was just FUGLY and I'm anal. I could not believe a $2k driver was built like what I saw.

  9. Not that I know of, it's the Crown 1002 with no programs set at all, straight amp to sub.

    No low pass filter,

Huh? Your running a full range signal to the 1502?

What's feeding the Crown? Perhaps filters are set up in an active crossover?
