  1. As far as music goes a few 5.1 surround DVD's once in a wile. This is a tough one, on the stereo side I have a McIntosh C2300 I could sell and go with my TAD-150 that's almost as nice as the c2300 that would give me the cash to do a nice amp / pre on the HT side. I think what I will do is find some thing on Craig's list for 100-150 and not rush into any thing. Thanks for the input. As I was going to post this I saw the Onkyo offers I think they would work plus I can keep the 2300...Hmmmmm, Let me sleep on it. Thanks!
  2. Found one? Harman Kardon AVR 8000 Receiver - $300
  3. So my Denon AVR died on me and not at a good time either. Need a 5.1 receiver for HT. I have Heresy III LCR and working on H II's for the rear. Any decent one or two year old gear I could look for in the 1K - 1400 rang? This is HT only no music. Thanks
  4. Plus one on the HIII's add a big sub and they kick Corn's butt! Found my cheery HIII's new in the box mint 900- :+) on Craigs list I think Ken said he started at Hi-Fi Hutch in his mid 20's If you met Ken you know how long of a run it's been..LOL Hell I bought my LaScala's new in 76
  5. Your close enough to Chicago it's road trip time, come to my house I have H III's K-horns and LaScala's or hit Simply Stereo in Hoffman Estates NW of Chicago 25 miles. He has a room with all of the above plus Cornwall III's And forget what mrtie says K-horns with a LaScala center is the ONLY way to live!! LOL http://local.yahoo.com/info-17252238-simply-stereo-hoffman-estates
  6. Got to a happy place with RadioHead Freekshow Copenhagen last night...:+)
  7. Tom that's my set also, add a big sub and you be rocking the house. I have a SVS PB12 Plus 2 sub It's a bit over the top sick but I like it..:+)
  8. I was able to do it with three mono blocks that have RCA in and out. I just set up my TAD-150 last night and played The Beatles - Love Album I was completely blown away with the sound stage of my TAD it was so large there were elements behind my head! How do they do that? How ever you get there it worth it IMHO
  9. Can't go wrong with ether one both were my first go to when I brought home a new sub last year. Thoughts on that night below. If your looking for a kick *** Blue Ray and like Jeff Beck try Live At Ronnie Scott's is a solid 5 stars in my book. made up for a few stinky ones I got stuck with. Sat, Oct 15 2011 10:22 AM Re: SVS PB12 Plus 2, $700 Mettawa IL ReplyEditFavoritesContact Holy ***! Got the sub moved in last night. I wanted to start off with something with out a lot of bass sort of. If that makes any sense? Blondie live in NYC 1999 DVD this is one of my favorite live discs so I have heard it a hundred times.. I don't know what to say other than I never heard it like this before. At one point I think I had a tear run down my cheek. OK so now some base I went with Metallica & San Francisco Symphony Orchestra.. Don't know what to say other than this thing is evil!! Matt good luck getting me to sell it back. Plus your room is WAY to small for this thing. I kind of had reservations as it really sounded not so hot at your place. I have it in the center of about 30'X45' if your ever through McHenry and would like to visit it your welcome to stop by. I don't think it's going anywhere soon..

  17. hmmm, what do you trade if you don't mind me asking? Myself I dabble a bit listen to Tom &Tony on Tasty trade every day with things going well before being run over by AAPL the last few weeks, So no new gear for me for a wile. I'm glad you made your move, after I made the offer to check out my system I came across a thread with your equipment racks. Good hell there is no comparison. I really enjoy what little I was able to pull together in the last year however. Last night I did all fore sides of the Who Tommy SACD, other than what they played on the radio back in the day I had never herd the album. Disc two and your new quad I'm thinking you would also enjoy. Put me on the list if you ever have an open house would love to check it out.
  18. Very nice, you clearly have been long and not short AAPL the last month. LOL
  19. I'm far from an expert but I can tell you after my experiment last week I left the SVS on the 2 channel wall and moved the RW-12d to the HT side. I'm thinking if Newegg has the RW-12 at 299 again I will add a second to the HT side. Or another SVS if one pops up???
  20. Jump to page two last two post few comments on the SVS http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/154002.aspx?PageIndex=1
  21. I also have LCR HIII's along with the SVS for HT a pair of RS-52's in the back that need to be replaced cant here them. Wonder why? LOL
  22. Your projects sound interesting when finished should you have an open house put me on the list. All my 2 channel gear is only new to me in the last year, I could use a few Ideas on refining it. I was kind of shocked how much I liked the SVS with it last night. I'm with you on the Jubilee's bought the LaScalas new just out of high school 1975-76 and it took my 40 years to come up with the K-horns. So even if I knew for a fact they sounded a little better I'm totally happy with what I ended up with. I may try V-trak horns if I ever find a used set reasonable but that's about it.
  23. Hi Mark Welcom to the forum, did it really take you 7 years to make your first post?
