  2. Here is my RC-62 above a 70" TV. I am not sure if this is a feasible option but it worked great for me. It's just two adjustable speaker stands with a glass shelf on top.
  3. That is a killer setup! Fantastic pictures like usual Youth!
  4. Like separates vs. receivers? Haha!
  5. I am not a fan of the Polk subs that I have owned either. However, I am a huge fan of Martin Logan subwoofers. My dual ML Abyss subs were one of my favorite overall sub setups. I have heard the newer models, like the 300, have cut some corners as far as quality goes (can't confirm). I would go with the largest subwoofer you can for your space requirements and budget. I run a 6.5 woofer 5.1 system and they have kept up with a few very well respected subwoofers with no problems. As mentioned, you can never have too much sub as long as it is set up correctly.
  6. People poking their fingers into the cones. I went to best my local Magnolia/Best Buy an they had a pair of B&W 683 B's in the clearance section for $1K! I had already made my mind up that they would be mine until I removed the grills... Fingers had destroyed all 4 of the woofers. I had to walk, I personally like the looks of tower speakers with the grills off.
  7. Looks like your budget is around $150? Both of those subs are ok but both will also leave you wanting more IMO. If I was you, I would either take a look at the Dayton 12" sub or start looking at the used market.
  8. I want that sub so bad! I have already committed to another sub but I will give this some consideration. I would also be a little worried about the truck from Arkansas to Seattle.. Beautiful gear, GLWS!
  9. Nice looking setup and congrats on the new gear! "And before you think I'm a basshead or something, no. I like my bass like I like my coffee: strong, but not overpowering. if you're used to using a $500-$800 AVR you haven't heard bass like this, maybe ever." I picked up my SC-1523-K with D3 amps, it was $799. I would stack its bass output up against that Kenwood any day of the week. Just saying.. Enjoy the new gear, audio equipment and cars are my favorite things to buy.
  10. That looks like a cool project. I can't wait to see the final product.
  11. The total power is cut way down when driving more than 2 speakers. Your new RF-82's will like the power. Just keep the RX-V675, the only downside is that it doesn't have pre-outs.
  12. Try putting a little punctuation in your posts. It would make it easier for us to help you...
  13. I think you really need to start reading other threads. Sounds like you are trying to confuse yourself.
  14. Outlaw Audio LFM-1 EX is on sale for $599 right now. In my opinion, and many other members over on AVS, they can not be beat for $1,200, unless you go DIY of course.. The three subs that Scrappy listed are also very good performers.
  15. With your budget I would buy the following: RF- 62 II RC-62 II Pioneer SC-1523-K or like Scrappy suggested, a Denon X4000 because XT32 (both great receivers). I chose the Pioneer because the D3 amps. I even sold a XPA-5 because I couldn't tell the difference between powering my speakers with the amp or the receiver. I would buy a great receiver and hold off on buying an amp. The receiver alone might give you the volume you are looking for. I would then spend the $900 saved and put it towards buying the absolute best subs you can. That is right around $2k. What do you have left over in the budget for subs? Also, listen to Scrappy. He has been down the path you are heading and he knows what he is talking about.
  16. I wouldn't say that I would be thrilled if I was in your shoes but if the speakers have sequential serial numbers and were in perfect condition, I would just keep them and enjoy audio bliss. I might shoot Klipsch an email or call them and make them aware of the situation.
  17. His subs are very good, probably the best on the market for the money. Keep the subs and focus your budget solely on the front threes if you already have an adequate receiver. You can buy SVS, Rythmik, HSU etc. down the road when this "hobby" has consumed your free time and your spending money.
  18. You have two good subs. I am with duder, sell the micas and buy the three best fronts you can. What AVR are you using?
  19. I think the fuse is in the plastic plug mount on that model. Pull the plug out and see if you can see a fuse door, there should even be an extra fuse there if I remember correctly.
  20. Unfortunately that isn't a very good budget for a receiver. Think of the receiver as the brains of the operation. The top tier models from the various brands gives you higher end amps, processors etc. with that said, there are deals to be had, especially on the used market. How large is the room? Do you have an amp? 3D? I would probably grab this one if I was you: http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/denavrx2000/denon-avr-x2000-7.1-ch-4k-ultra-hd-networking-receiver-airplay/1.html Welcome to the forum BTW! Seahawks fan? Season ticket holder here if that is the hawks you are referring to..
  21. Hopefully kitty doesn't get too comfortable there, you will flick her throughout the wall when the subs are powered;) I am just here to watch now. Looks like a fun build, especially going from those mediocre klipsch subs!
  22. Just to give you an idea of deals I have scored on CL, the ones I can remember anyway: Furman Elite 15 - $150 RW-10 - $150 RF-63's - $800 RC-64 - $50 RF-3's - $200 RC-3 - $80 Panamax M5100-EX - $50 rS-3's - $100 SVS PC-?? - $200 Mitsubishi 82" DLP - $500 Many more that I can't remember... My point is what Youth mentioned. If you have patience, you can build a system that would destroy anything at a local BB for $1000 and serious patience. Half the fun for me is finding deals, the other half is enjoying the fruits of your patience. Welcome to the forum!
  23. Only $2,999! http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/ele/4579396535.html
  24. It was a huge mistake.. I change out HT gear like crazy. I will probably buy RF-63's or RF-83's next, if they ever pop up locally. I actually had the F-3's, not the F-30's, just couldn't remember the model name.
