  1. Sad news, you need pre outs to use an amp.
  2. Glad to here you enjoy the Audyssey on the Marantz. I've been on the fence because I really want to get a receiver with Audyssey's newest software, but Marantz isn't running it yet. Glad you are so happy with it. Love the update!
  3. The 900 comes with one receiver/blaster combo and two additional IR blasters.
  4. I have the 900 and love it! I went with it over the One because it has the red green blue yellow buttons. I use those all the time when interfacing with my DVR. Also, the 900 has RF and the One does not. And I agree, love the traditional style handheld vs the tablet.
  5. My understanding that if they are determined to be B stock when Klipsch gets the veneer, the sticker they put on them says so.
  6. Here is an RF62 system with yamaha receiver in your area for 1300 http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/ele/2475831207.html i am selling a complete surround sound system which includes the following. yamaha reciever rx-v1600,2x klipsch rf62 floor speakers,1x rc-52 center speaker, klipsch reference series powered sub, and two rear bookself speakers by klipsch. all speakers are black. Or trade for comparable tv
  7. From a Mac (iPhone, iPad) you have to manually put in (less than)(p)(greater than) manually.
  8. Where are you located?? What do you want to set for an initial purchase budget??
  9. A member on the forum is selling his total system for $600. Good place to start. Add in shipping and your started. (garage sale section of the forum) http://community.klipsch.com/forums/t/151063.aspx Onkyo tx-sr607 Synergy B-20(mains) Synergy c-3(center) acoustic research HD510 satellites w/ 2 stands and the matching sub. (surrounds and sub)
  10. You can set speakers to 60hz and they'll play 60hz and above. If you set sub to 120hz it'll play everything from 120hz down.
  11. Rich Guy, Thanks for chiming in with your experience. That (and others) help answer my question. Seems no one really has a problem listening to a multichannel amp in stereo. Better, and more optimum would be dedicated two channel, but that can wait for an upgrade bug to bite. Sounds like to start, ignorance will be bliss and I'll be very happy with a 5 channel.
  12. I'm in your boat. Could have RF-82 system today. I'm not settling though. I know I'll get the upgrade bug and always wonder "What if" if I dont get the flagship system. Save up, get what you dream about. Don't settle.
  13. If you use your HT 5 channel amp to just listen to music in stereo, do the other 3 channels not turn on because there is no source material being sent to them? Let's use emotiva XPA-5 for example. I'm thinking this is what a 12v trigger is for. Turning the channel on and off.
  14. My world = aesthetics. Wife doesn't like the look of the Lascala's. "those 70's speakers"...... RF series is good to go for her.
  15. For some reason, sharpie comes off easily when you take a dry erase marker and mark over the sharpie. (If you're worried about sharpie messing things up....)
  16. I thought they streamed 5.1 on xbox or ps3. Just not on other devices like DVD players and phones etc.
  17. What's this left hand determines if it's reality or not? What did I miss. Never thought about the clothes alluding to it being a dream. I'm sold now that the top was gonna fall over.
  18. If you want to point blame I say point at smart phones, employers that don't monitor your Internet, and craigslist.
  19. What about a yoga mat? Like from a sports store. Same workout mat you might use for P90X or something.
  20. You would need to keep your Onkyo. You'd use RCA cables from the pre-out of your AVR to the amplifier inputs. Then you plug your speakers into the amplifier. You could just use the power of the XPA 5 to run your L/R/C and 2 surrounds. Then you could use the AVR to power the two rears. So the rears would hook up directly to your AVR for power.

Audiogon. Onkyo PR-SC5507 Last years model. Listed under $1100 http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?homeproc&1308929562&/Onkyo-PR-SC5507-Surround-Proce
  22. I agree with the above. The peace of mind you'll have by taking a few of the valuable and fragile items with you is unmeasurable. Won't loose sleep at night...etc. Small U-haul trailer to tow. In the end, you'll be so happy you did.
  23. RS-232 is just like the (normally blue) computer monitor cable we used before HDMI. Serial cable/9pin. Probably used as a controler cable for some other function.
