  1. Derrick, I understand what your explaining, thanks. The UMC-1 doesn't have a LPF, but I believe I can globally trim the subs frequencies through EmoQ (if it's working properly) I have the rt-10 dialed in pretty good now with very little localization in this room and the RB81's RC64 front. I'm hopig it stays that way and the RSW-15 will pick up and fill up the low end that the rt-10 struggles to get to. I think I'm explaining that right or have the right principles in mind.
  2. No affliation, but emailed back and forth with guy. Was willing to seperate for right price. Gave me quotes of RF63's- 1000$ RC64- 500$ RT-10 - 500$. I didn't ask about RS62's. Wish I had the means to get those 63's but too far for me or any friends that would help. http://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/649076328-klipsch_51_speaker_package_rf63_rc64_rs62_rt10d/
  3. Thanks Derrick, so if I this correct, with my UMC 1, I would set the UMC-1 with bass XO at 120, then set the RT-10d to 120 (or off) as it's the one at the front. Then set the RSW-15 to around 60 (or around there) to fill bottom in but not too loud as to localize it? I get it Friday when friend comes back to town and will certainly take pics and share my thoughts and possible questions.
  4. Thanks, it was actually 450 when I tossed friend 50 bucks to do it.. No neighbours here living above a storefront and an 75 yr old deaf man under me in rear and no where near my living room. It is a Maple one. My buddy who picked it up is a an old cabinet maker and said he can reglue a peice of veneer that's slighly pulled off and use some sort of iron to remove 2 scratches on side. Bill, thats very encouraging to read, thanks! The Acurus is thumping right along smoothly. Replacing my RF-35's with RB-81's hasn't reduced anything really and the 81's are working great so far as L&R with the Acurus feeding them. I thought I'd miss out some midrange with just the 1 8" woofer, but I'm not hearing it. I'm pumped as well [<)] I'd like to try swapping it ,but it wont work in my front as it's too big and wont allow my screen to pull down to where it needs to be unless I move my screen forward about 10 inches, which I think would be too awkward. Thanks TDK, that's good to hear too.
  5. Thanks Youthman! I couldn't resist and acted quickly to get it done. My buddy was right beside me when the seller responded to my response with phone number. He said he received a lot of email inquiries but I was first and he was very helpful to get it done. I can't wait to get it in here. If I put myself into the rear corner I'd have a ton of room for it....lol I hope it can work out back there though!
  6. My 2 channel set up is just out of frame on right side. Thanks Edit, maybe I should have posted this in the "subwoofer" section?
  7. Hey guys, I just acquired an excellent condition RSW-15 for I think cheap (400) and had a friend pick it up and I'll get it next friday, when he returns to town. In the meantime I'd like to get your consensus of what my options are to place it my apartment livingroom / ht set up. The room is 22L x 13W ft. I've included a pic of front wall, but did some measuring and appears I can't place it along there as it is to tall for my pull down screen. The only 2 options I see are beside my 2 channel set up, but that partially blocks my R Quartet and blocks even more the satelite, media player/blu ray shelf. Other option is in back left corner of room and 7 ft from front of sub to main sitting area. I cant put on leftside of screen as it would block the entrance to room if I pulled it out far enough to avoid the screen when down. If I were to be able to fit it in the front wall would it be ok to set my RB-81 on top of it? I think I'm specifically asking if putting in back of room would work and things I would need to look out for by doing that, or if there are other options I'm missing? I have the rt-10d and love it , but couldn't resist the urge to pick this rsw-15 up after reading your great reviews on this sub and testing it out. If it doesn't work, I can store it for when I move into a bigger place or flip it or the rt-10 to subsidize a rf-83 or 63 purchase if and when they come available up here in Canada. Thanks!
  8. Finally right country, but wrong province Arrrggg Good luck with sale!!. Looking for 83 or 63's here
  9. Pics don't reveal the extent of covering needed, but if it's small knicks try a simple black marker.
  10. Did you write this at the guys place you were so excited to tell the news??.....lol Congrats!...look into those Ti diapraghms after listening to them for awhile.....loved what they did for mine. New crossovers and mids are next here. I got mine for just a lil more and the upgrades are inexpensive to bring them to another level. Enjoy!
  11. I just did the opposite. I have Quartets and just sold my H II's . I agree with Bill and had mine on same system. I needed the sub for the H II's hooked up to MC250 in approx 20 x 13 room. With the Quartets, no sub needed and they thump the chest in same room. Once I replaced stock tweeters with Ti diaphragms, the high end smoothed out and extends just as well as the H II's is my impressions now after about 50 hrs in . Great speakers both, but I loves my quartets!
  12. I was referring to MechMans 2505 as he is local to me. Terry is still going strong, but crossing border with delicate equipment is a no go for me. I'm happy with my MC250 for time being and will jump at a local deal if it comes by.
  13. Mechman and Derrick thanks for the compliments, Its been a pleasure and learning experience from great guys like yourselves and others here. Ive learned so much here. The 81's up front are liking the power with the 200w the Acurus is giving them, but I'll follow Youthmans path like I've done since beginning and show patience until a set of 83's, 63's of 7's come around at a good price (patience grasshopper!). Mechman, if you're ever selling that 2505 in your profile, can you give me first crack at it if I haven't found one yet. I love my MC250 (needs a recap, any tech suggestions?) , but looking for a 2105 or 2505 if the right deal comes around. Duder, here's a shot of the Wall mount link I posted above. I measured it and it is in fact 2 feet (24 inches) extended out. That might work perfect as you can extend the TV to the front of the Lascala. I pull it out level with the 64 here and it looks great.
  14. RUN and getum quick!...You'll love it !
  15. I'll take some pics when I'm home of the stand and the TV wall mount I replaced on the Sanus stand. It works great and extends my TV out about 2 feet closer to sitting area. Here is link to Sanus stand. I got it on CL for 100. Just removed the smalled glass shelf and placed my RC64 on middle one. All adjustible. http://www.sanus.com/us/en/products/av-foundations/av-flat-panel/PFFP2 Here is the Monoprice wall mount I have replaced the sanus one with to great results. http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=109&cp_id=10828&cs_id=1082806&p_id=8586&seq=1&format=1#largeimage
  16. I wasn't bored today. I made a trade today and swapped out my RF35's and a stock Mc C26 for a fully restored C28. I just moved the surround RB81's to L&R and had spare RB61's for back surround. The 81's are keeping up nicely until I find 63 or 83'. The Quartets are sounding a lot better lower and angled up slightly. The C28 is substantially fuller in sound being restored. Loving it for the last few hours re-arranging the set up.
  17. I just scored black ones for same price and absolutely love them! Listen to them for a month and get a feel for the sound, then get Crites Ti diaphragms for the tweeters. Great upgrade for little money (approx 60 shipped) that really refines and extends the top end on these fantastically!. My next step will be redo the cross overs and Ti mids in time. They are keepers here. Here's link to Bobs page for them. they are bottom of page. http://www.critesspeakers.com/klipsch_tweeters.html Congrats and enjoy them !
  18. Looks like I just missed out on these to a flipper: http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-electronics-Klipsch-KL-650-THX-Ultra2-LCR-W0QQAdIdZ509983832
  19. They sold. thanks for the info Scrappy...good food for thought. I might grab some cherry RF-5's that have come up at good price. Wont cost me a nickle to swap out with my rf-35's
  20. If I had the available cash handy it would be a no brainer to buy and test. Scrappy did you try the RC-64 btween them? If it works ok then I could hold out and wait for a 3rd one to pop up. You don't see these in canada as frequently as down in US, so it could take some time. I have the Acurus A200Five amp and 200 watss x 5 and it has plenty of power to spare, so the XPA-3 is not needed here.
