  1. There is always a better deal around the corner. One thing I know for sure is everyone will be happy when they get these speakers (if they aren’t damaged lol). I paid about 3400 for the rf-7ii, rc-64ii, and the rs-62ii. All A stock black ash from my friend that worked at ultimate electronics. That’s about 40% off. The cost of klipsch speakers is about half the retail price to the retail stores. He told me a lot of speaker brands are that way (def tec is even less than half). Some brands like bose are price locked (like video games) so they can’t deal on them unless bose runs a deal that every store will offer. I wouldn’t mind the b stock cherry I think they look really nice in the pictures but I would only do it if I got the rc-64ii to match the color.
  2. Very cool and congrats on your upgrade. We love pics so when you get them settled in please post some pics. []
  3. Congrats on your new speakers please post some pics when you get everything set up.
  4. For some reason my pic of both side by side got shrunk. It looks better in the link []
  5. Link shows a few more http://blog.naver.com/PostView.nhn?blogId=wineaudio1&logNo=20123592559&redirect=Dlog&widgetTypeCall=true
  6. Some cool side by side pics of rf-7ii
  7. A lot of good amps out there but if you like buying new then it’s really tuff to beat emotiva. Any of the xpa amps will work well. I have heard outlaw amps are nice and they only cost a little more than emo. There are a few members on here who have a ton of experience with other amps in the used market that I’m sure will chime in.
  8. “Single best speaker I own” Not for long lol (rf-7ii) [] http://www.blu-ray.com/community/gallery.php?member=Reference_head
  9. All you need now are the rf-7ii []
  10. Wow I had no idea the tapered array gap on the rc-7 was like that. That seems very strange but other than the size I can’t really recall anyone every saying anything but good things about the rc-7.
  11. It wasn't their best offering but I'm sure it will be better than your Onkyo 8" that you currently have. At least your not into it that bad that you'll take a loss if you sell it. There's a reason the 5 or 6 Klipsch fanatics tried to steer you clear of Klipsch subs. There was also a reason it sold for $170.00. If you hang around long enough, and I hope you do, you'll find that most all forum members will steer you in the right direction. All you have to do is take advantage of the wealth of knowledge and past experiences that are presented to you. Sure there'll be differences in opinions, but if every poster is basically telling you the same thing, then there has to be something of merit to what they are saying. +1
  12. Congrats on the amp looks great! And you have rf-7ii on the way! Wow x-mas at Jason’s lol. So how do you like the emo so far? Do you still have the rf-63 hooked up? Also did you have any static or ground loop noise? I get a small amount of hiss but have gotten rid of all the noise.
  13. There is some truth to that when you set a speaker to small all the stuff under the crossover point is sent to the sub on top of the lfe signal that’s already being sent to the sub. So when you set all your speakers to small and crossover at say 80 hz that can become a pretty hot signal to your sub. To my ears subs sound there best when they only handle lfe content. Now one way to offset that would be to crossover your sub at say 80 Hz (like youth). That will lessen the load and signal on the sub. But the one main issue with that though is that lfe content is 20-120hz so you end up with a small hole in your lfe from 80-120. I personally run everything on large mainly because to me the subs sound there best that way. This has nothing to do with not wasting the other speakers capability’s like the 7s low end, and everything to do with making the subs sound the best to my ears. Youth is right there is no 1 right way to all this. So the best way is to use the info and ideas and try all of them. When I only had an avr to power everything i set everything too small to conserve on power. But when I got a power amp, power and head room became a non-issue.
  14. And the svs that I think is a great looking speaker.
  15. Comparison. Epik empire kind of simple looking.
  16. Agreed even though my svs is my best sub the empire is easily the best value. After shipping it cost me 550 less than I paid for the svs, and it’s very close in performance. I would stay away from the epik legends though (the smaller model) they have been having major issues with the amps in them. All I have heard about the empire is good things though and love mine. If I could go back in time I might have bought 2 empires and saved about 650 (you save 100 if you buy 2). You’re paying for the name a little bit more with svs than the other internet direct brands. But svs is probably the best of the bunch in build and performance. The svs I have looks like it’s built to last 100 years. The pic below is the back view of the driver in my svs sub. The pic doesn’t do it justice the driver itself weighs like 80lb.
  17. Great choice in speaker’s I’m sure you will love them. I haven’t seen any b stock 7s but I know they have different types of b stock. 1. Would be something like a small scratch that you may or may not see. 2. Could be a returned speaker that was barley ever used, and then there are speakers that have the wrong color or finish from the factory. I think you can find them mint for about that price if you hold out and wait for a good deal. If you don’t want to wait though and want the best deal right now you might have to go b stock.
  18. I have had great luck with both svs, and epik. The empire is an amazing value, and the svs I have is on sale right now for 1200(norm 1350 before shipping). You can’t really go wrong with internet direct subs as long as size isn’t an issue (I can’t put into words how big these subs are when you get them in your room). If you don’t want a huge box in your room I would look at sunfire or even def tech supercubs. http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-box-pb12plus.cfm http://www.epiksubwoofers.com/empire.html
  19. Plus you got all the same power across the board so it matches that way also.
  20. Transformers masterpiece Optimus Prime, and Megatron. It’s not a telescope it’s a gun []
  21. If you could post a pic or two of where you want to put the surrounds that would help. I would go rs-52ii or rs-62ii being they aren’t direct speakers so they don’t have to point right at you. Don’t worry about having too much power. The rf-5 will take anything your receiver can pump out as long as it’s clean. If you go book shelf speakers for surrounds then you would have to angle them down at you. Anything from the RB series would work. I would definitely add another sub in that room. Book shelf speakers as surrounds will sound better for music if you use multi-channel for music. But for HT the RS line will be the better choice.
  22. Agreed I would sell it and buy a power amp. Use it tell you sell it.
