  1. There was a time when almost all connectors on audio gear, and the plugs/cables that attached them, were red (left) and white (right). Since my wires were always in a mess and I was looking down over the tops of my gear and couldn't read the labels, I just used the term red is left, white is right. It was backwards, but consistent throughout, so it worked for me. [:^)]
  2. Someone on here had a set of tops they were selling... but I can't find the link.
  3. This is the KN724 reputed to be the same PS. I haven't taken the time yet to see if it matches.
  4. As others have said, very beautiful work. If I may make a suggestion, I would make a small template and route a small rectangle where the binding posts are located, and place the plate on the inside of the cabinet, to recess those posts. Love that sapele. Bruce
  5. I just fix them in Photoshop before I post them... [:#] -Bruce (your loving father)
  6. Shweet! btw, did you get paint on the ceiling up in the corner? I still have to get my horns glued up. They are in line with all the other things I need to do...
  7. I've wondered myself...One of the threads I followed about this on the DIYaudio forums said that the KN724 has most of the sqme circuits. I have schematics of those that I will post for you, but will have to wait untill I'm home tonight. Bruce
  8. This is easier...(this may not be the right schematic. I had trouble tracking thhis much down) Is that the problem...? [:|]
  9. If you find a schematic, let me know. (I do have the output section schem.) I got one for free. Mine had no tubes, so I put in some new issue, and the sockets are a a tad loose. Kind of a mess underneath, but it works. Funny, I was looking at it tonight...Bruce
  10. A good friend of mine worked at the Edison Historical Site in New Jersey. They have hundreds of cylinders, of different compostions. They are transferring many of them to digital media. Edison would record just about anything, and his studio contained horns of different sizes to mathc what he or his staff were recording...speeches, soloists, bands, etc. They have a recording of the bugler who was in the Light Brigade (Think Tennyson's "The Charge of the Light Brigade" inspired by an incident in the Crimean War) AND the bugle that was used. THAT gives one an eerie feeling . Bruce
  11. Ooooohhhhhhhhhh! I would think the Quad IIs would be nice. I would love to have a pair of those.
  12. A lot of folks like Brent Jesse, excellent reputation. I've only used the Tube Depot, in Memphis, and been satisfied. Bruce
  13. '98 Blazer with 207,000 mi., 4.3ltr / 20mpg Put in a new tranny at 125k. '01 Stratus with 165,000 mi., 28 mpg. (I hate this car, but it gets better mileage than the Blazer. The wife didn't like it either. It will be gone before Spring)
  14. I've used one of the appliance dollies before. The ones I've seen are a good 80 lbs. + all by themselves. Too heavy for me, by the time I would have had an LS strapped on. I had to go up some steps. So I backed up to the the door, placed the particle board from the back of the Blazer to the doorway and slid them inside. Then end over end to get them in place. A lot easier than the dolly. Bruce
  15. An st-120 at night,,, from Bob's website...
  16. I have my LS pointing to an area slightly behind me. It makes the 'sweet spot" slightly wider. You will just have to experiment with them to get what sounds best to you. LS IIs across the sea, awesome! Bruce
  17. You are a trouble maker...lol. [] I think a lot of them ended up in my living room, Max. As much as I love my system, which often carries me away to another place when I put on some music, I still find I can often actually enjoy something played back at work on my cheap pc speaker system Maybe my brain is letting me place myself at home and hearing it through my own system. A bi-location, if you will... Bruce
  18. Ok, you're a Luddite! []I like media I can hold in my hands, too. I like real libraries... I don't mind holding dead trees in my hands. Man, I need to visit Macon. My longtime best friend may retire there with his family, and I may be up for a move further south. Bruce
  19. I can send a copy back if you want... It's a great resource.Bruce
  20. I brought mine in by myself. I placed some particle board (smooth) and slid them in on a blanket. I couldn't wait. Once in the house I just did them end over end to get them where I wanted them. []Bruce
  21. I've still got a copy of your CD... I can send one on to Josh pretty easy.Bruce
  22. [Y] Green tea is great. I have cut down tremendously on thecoffee and beer, but am usually drinking green tea.
