I've considered it but not pulled the trigger. I think they offer first month free. It's just expensive compared to Netflix, Prime, and Hulu. Especially considering when the other 3 have more content to choose from.

Dayton Ultimax 12 Passive Radiators Build in Sub12HG Enclosure
johnnydrama replied to johnnydrama's topic in Subwoofers
They certainly have. I always liked the look of the Sub-12HG because the design and blue LED matched my XF-48s well. And when Amazon ran a special on them at $179 each I couldnt think of a cheaper or better looking route for the Ultimax 12s. Even a 300 watt plate amp alone cost more than $179. -
I was bored with my subs and couldn't stand not seeing the beautiful Ultimax 12 driver. I had it in the down-firing position originally as I mounted it in the Sub-12HG enclosure. I added dual Dayton 12" passive radiators, sealed off the bottom and rear of the cabinet, and stuffed each box with 1lb. of Poly. Really happy with the way they turned out cosmetically. They sound great as well.

Sounds rough.... Kidding aside I completely understand your frustration. When you have that much money tied up you should expect/desire perfection.

Hmmm, I didn't notice the SW-112 only went up to 120hz. Interesting on the amp the Lowpass knob ranges from 50-150hZ. The quintets are rated down to 110 hZ so if you crossed the sub at 120hZ you should have it all covered, just my opinion. And I believe the SW-112 would outperform the other subs that you mention, and keep it in the Klipsch family. There are certainly much better subwoofer offerings than Klipsch but with a $200 budget I think you would be hard pressed to find one better than the SW-112.

I would get the Klipsch SW-112 from Newegg for $179. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882780073&cm_re=klipsch-_-82-780-073-_-Product

I always tell my wife I'm turning a profit when I buy and sell. I handle all of our finances so she doesn't really see the ins and outs. Whenever she sees me boxing something up for shipment she automatically asks what I bought. I'm always "exchanging."

I never used a sniping website , Im just that good Congratulations, I was really contemplating it but restrained from pulling the trigger. Interested to hear your thoughts once you give them the proper audition!

for sale F-3 pair in 9 .5 condition in cherry
johnnydrama replied to tsalter9's topic in Garage Sale
I've always thought the Cherry F-3s were a better looking speaker than the Cherry RF-82iis. More rare as well. -
Yea I saw that when I looked him up. I was just wondering if anyone knew why. He completely fell off the map.
-
Just wondering does anyone know? When I first joined the forum he was one of the most active members and we bought and sold several items off of each other. I have not seen a post from him for several years now.

ughhh I'm driving through Indy this weekend and have family there. Would love to have a set of KG5.5 but don't really have a use for them. I hate when there are good deals but I have no way to justify.
-
I noticed as well, I e-mailed one of them for $150 Fortes. A real person responded saying the speakers had sold but they had more great deals and attached a link. the Link led me to beezid.com.

Not a favorable review but I'm not terribly surprised either. Along the lines of what others on the forum have expressed. http://www.cnet.com/products/klipsch-reference-premiere-rp-440wf/

Repalcing the Center Channel for a Klipsch Icon W series 5.1 setup
johnnydrama replied to peplogic's topic in Home Theater
You could try the XL-23 from the Icon X line that I use below. Same horn, Ti tweeter, and midrange. Much shallower and sounds like it would work well for your situation. The trick is finding one. Just did a nationwide search with 1 result. https://kansascity.craigslist.org/ele/5474576593.html -
$149 after $20 rebate actually!

The SW-450 was on sale at Newegg yesterday for $199. It is back up to $299 now. Just in case you are looking for another you could keep an eye out as newegg is constantly cycling their deals.
-
You're thinking of the SW-12. This SW-112 is from their new Reference line. 2010, sorry. I read his message differently... It's hard to find a 12 year old mid level sub for $199 let alone a brand new one for $199 I believe is what he meant. But I see what you are saying. Maybe I am wrong.
-
For $179 I would say you are certainly getting your moneys worth. I've never heard the sub personally but just saying.
-
Correct one per household. But to your point even at $199 it is still a heckuva deal
-
Bump its back live again. I keep resisting as I have no need for these. Very tempting though
