I use VUDU as well and agree on the streaming quality. Another one I use that is of equal quality is CinemaNow. Prices are a little cheaper per rental and a very good selection of movies including up to date new releases.

Rented this from Redbox last night and I was blown away by the soundtrack as well as the special effects. Plenty of LFE's and stunning visuals and the plot keeps your attention throughout.............highly recommend! [Y]

Nice journey Beechnut, I'm right behind you and about 3/4 of the way there. I will take the plunge to separates in the very near future but for now I am gonna enjoy what I have. Patience is hard sometimes but it will only make me appreciate the upgrade that much more. It still amazes me the SQ I get with the reference series from my mid-range AVR. I can only imagine the difference once I decide on a pre/pro and amp! Enjoy!

You might consider the Onkyo 818. It the 2012 model and has every feature as above and can be had new with warranty for less than 1k. Amazon Yes, especially if you add a second sub.

Congratulations! A lot of us have purchased thru ASD and are very happy. Some of us got A stock for B stock pricing when they were out of stock but I would have been just as happy with B stock. Same components so no difference in the sound quality. I think all are shipping much darker than the web sites indicate.......... Enjoy!

I just posted a smoking deal on an Onkyo 818 in the alert section. I'd jump on that in lieu of the 809 for a few bucks more.

I wasn't sure where to post this so I thought I would start here. I was browsing SPL meters in the app store and would like to know if anyone has used a specific one. Also how well it works in comparison to an actual unit. Thanks in advance for any suggestions and input.

Somewhat scary when I put what I paid onto a spreadsheet but once I added the retail column, I feel much better on my overall savings vs. retail. Everything has been purchased new with a warranty. The subs say they retail for 999.00 ea. [bs]but I think 500.00 ea. is more realistic. Obviously some retail prices have come down but these numbers are based on time of purchase.
