  1. Well, after looking and thinking for the past 3 days I decided to make a change. I relieved the new JTR captivator s2 subwoofers and decided I would like to have both subs and all 3 KL-650's behind an AT screen. In going to hire a small project contractor to build a recessed shelf on my main wall 8'w x 4'h x 2'd. I'm going to put both sealed subs in there and ten mount each kl-650 in there using my omnimounts. I did some math a f decided to go with a Seymour center stage xd screen at 162". I'm thinking that since I'm going to use a anamorphic lens now the curved 2.37:1 screen would be best. Thoughts ideas I'm all ears. I'm goin to remove my 3 kl-650's from the brackets today and also remove my Stewart screen and tape out the are the new screen will go as well as where te recessed shelf will be. I guess I just it used to how the room looked without the big Subs taking up floor space and want all my speakers out of sight now and in the best place for them behind a screen. Ill take some additional photos tonight before I begin then photos after the recessed held is in and when I order te new screen.
  2. Checking in! I had all of them installed under the screen. Then i had to go out of town to Charlotte for the weekend. I met up with forum member cjmustang69 and he picked up the RF7iis. Very nice fella. Im enjoying meeting form members more and more. Anyway i will be back home Monday and plan to take more photos and spend some time with the (4) 18s. They take up less of a foot print than the KW120s but almost similar in size of the actual boxes. The craftmanship is seriously incredible. the paint, contraction, feel is just incredible i have nothing but positive things to say about Jeff's packaging and work. The lead time was a bit of a wait but I'm sure it will be worth it once they are powered up. I can't actually turn them on for a bit due to the electrician not coming for another 2 weeks to install 2 extra 20 amp circuits. I have started a conversation with scrappy and Youth about my ideas to go with having a contractor build a recessed shelf sheet rocked and painted to match my room to hold my LCR and new JTR subwoofers and go with a slightly larger AT screen. I plan to start a thread with some concept images of what I'm thinking of doing this week to see what the brethren think. Id like to have all my speakers behind he AT screen and since these subs are sealed with no port air they shouldn't be a problem behind be hid the screen.
  3. A few picks of the JTRs. I'm contemplating having a contractor build a 8'w 4'h 2'd alcove and going with a larger maybe 150-160" 2.35:1 AT screen to hold both JTR subs and my kl650s but I need to speak with my brethren first.
  4. Looks excellent scrappy. Very glad to see it coming together.
  5. I will have pics soon. I hauled both of the S2’s up to the theater last night in their boxes, showered and had to run back to work. I got home last night late had a glass of wine and was out like a light. I plan to remove them from the boxes tonight and snap some quick pics of them under the screen. Labor day I’ll take lots of detailed photos
  6. Good luck with your sale on the Chorus speakers. They look to be in great shape. I think you are going to be very very pleased with the RF7iis I’m brining you tomorrow. They will require some break in time as they have never been used before. Again GLWS
  7. I can’t’ say the same Youth! I miss my RF-83s in Black very much. I wish I never sold them. I haven’t listened to my new Lascala’s yet but I plan to have power to them next week. Then maybe I can finally put that remorse to rest. Your images look stunning every time I look at them again
  8. More photos of the unboxing and once they are in place to come this evening.
  9. Gave me a window between 10am and 6pm??????? That's a window? More like French doors taken off the hinges bejesus
  10. Very soon it should be up and running should look and feel awesome
  11. I know, Reference has me curious about the KPT speakers. Man this thing never ends does it. I don't think Klipsch makes one but if you can't find anything, I can design and print vinyl banners. That might be the route that I take with mine. Beam me up if you make one
  12. Perforated definitely doesn’t hinder any sound and I agree it anchors it all front and center just like at a theater. I also agree that you should take your time and tackle one thing at a time. This project if rushed will look rushed. I took almost 6 months to make my theater look extremely professional both in aesthetics and sound. Now I’m sure it can be done in much less time than that but I am an ocd perfectionist so I meticulously painted each wall with 3 coats, each molding with 3 coats, the ceiling with 3 coats, changed every piece of hardware, made every line straight, did all the electrical sconce lighting to code, ran all of my speaker wires through brushed plates etc etc so I definitely didn’t rush. I suggest you take each aspect you’re working on into some deep thought each day as you don’t want to waste money or time re-doing anything. Also as many will chime in this experience is some of the most fun you will have and often many enjoy the build process as much as the end result so I say relish in it all. The roll down screens are nice but if you have a dedicated room for this home theater the fixed screen IMO gives a more finished look so I wouldn’t stray away from that if it is your purpose. I also think the KPT line would be better suited for the Lascalas though the RS-62s sound great and I liked them when I had them as well as hearing them with Youth’s Lascalas. On a side note I want a Kllipsch banner to hang over my Lascalas in my 2channel garage setup does anyone know if I can purchase one?
  13. McAllan 12 fan! I keep the 15 and 18 as well for special occasions.
  14. You know you did something right when you get a bill if lading instead ofA tracking number when you order speakers. The fact that that bill of Lading says the shipment weighs 430lbs and requires a lift gate to deliver two speakers is icing on the cake baby! They are set to arrive Thursday and ill post pictures!
  15. Very nice sir. I have my 2 chamnel in my finished garage.
  16. Well I'm going to give a great price for 8 interconnects. I will sell all 8 for $210 shipped. PM me if you want a great deal on a set of matching AQ interconnects. These were reviewed very highly.
  17. If you sell the towers opt for maybe some rb61iis or 81iis
  18. I wouldn't advise surrounds for front unless perhaps they were heigt speakers or something fun. I will say I liked my rs42s back in the day. My dad has them now.
  19. Is that what that was, those are cool. yes sir the wife drives a cayenne. I'm fine with my jeep I don't need a fancy car. Just fancy speakers
  20. I was about to say Youthmans equipment is very similar to what you are trying to do. The 3 Lascalas will sound exceptional for Home theater as I have heard Mikes and feel they are some of the best I have heard. I think equipment wise you have selected some nice choices. The Inuke 6000’s have more than enough power for what you need. The big screen is by far the most impactful piece in the theater even to us audio enthusiasts it can’t be beat. With 3 lascalas I wouldn’t go smaller than 130” if you can help it but the projector is probably the easier component to upgrade and swap out for its size. Tv’s are a pain to sell move etc. but the projector can be boxed and shipped easily and I wouldn’t personally go with a 4k projector until they have several that have been out and gotten the kinks worked out. The JVC’s eshift works nicely for 4k but of course native 4k is still not there yet with actual content for the most part. Out of the projectors I have tested or seen in person, Benq, Panasonic, JVC, Sim2, Sony etc. the Sim2 cannot and will not be beat but that is an entirely different price point and not necessary unless you have an enormous screen over 200”. The JVC offers IMO the most cinematic and best overall picture but in the room I see you have to work with it probably won’t be the best bet and a panny will probably fit the bill. JVC’s definitely offers the deepest blacks and best 2d picture quality IMO but they require a dedicated room that is completely light controlled. Your off to a good start and it should be a fun project. The only time I have heard the Harmon Kardon with klipsch speakers is with Mike’s 3 Lascalas and I was very impressed with the sound of movie playback. The concert dvd also sounded top notch
