  1. I made my first trip to Hope yesterday, which is sad given I live less than 2 hours away. I contributed the original crossovers, Type 2R, out of my '64 Cornwalls to the museum. I spent a couple of hours with Mr. White, aka "Bodark". He has the museum set up very nice. They were technically closed, he just met me there to accept the donation so the museum on Division st is the only one I actually went in. Mr White was an extremely nice guy. He hooked me up with 2 t-shirts for the donation!! I also picked up a couple of coffee mugs!
  2. Willie Nelson has to be on the list somewhere.
  3. Hell that could be them! I heard about them through a friend that knows the guy. Apparently the guy is at the lake for the weekend or something.
  4. I have a line on a pair of Mahogany Khorns. They are one owner with all of the original paperwork. Aside from the wood being dry and needing to be oiled they are in excellent condition, per the seller....I have not recieved the pictures yet. Any input on fair pricing? Does the mahogany play much of a role? I was told it was a special order finish option. Any info is appreciated. I will add pics as soon as I get them. Thank you!
  5. The rp5's are space savers. The sub eliminates the need to run wires across a room for an actual sub. The subs in those bad boys are no slouches either. They can go low and pound your head. Pleanty of highs amd mids but it all balances out very nice. They are thin so placement options abound! Let us know what you think when you fire them up!!
  6. I know TT needles go bad, and I understand a cartridge can go bad as well but how do you tell when the cartridge is going bad?
  7. They're worth about $150 but I will give you $200![H] Lol. J/K. I owned a pair and they sounded awesome. Those built in subs do a GREAT job. I would think that brand new $600-$800 would not be unreasonable, I think, and others can correct me, they retailed in the $2k a pair neighborhood. A lot of times, especially in the stereo world, its not so much what its worth as what someone will pay! You should consider keeping! Killer pair of speakers!
  8. So my dad calls me and tells me he was in Best Buy in Terre Haute, IN talking with an associate about a Klipsch home theater system. The associate told my dad that all their Klipsch products are made in Indianapolis, not China, and that Klipsch Speakers were no longer being made in Hope! What a poor representation of the brand at a retail location!!
  9. Great to know! I will be using these with the Marantz 2265 as the preamp. If you remember, did you just have the L preamp out to one mono block and then the R preamp out to the other mono block?
  10. I am considering buying two MA-500's and bridging them to run my cornwalls. I currently run a haffler DH-200. I am concerned the sound from the mono blocks will be more like the sound of a newer receiver rather then the sound of a vintage receiver. Is that a correct assumption?
  11. Probably a stupid question....I have a Marantz 2265 and I want to run a pair of MA-500 Mono blocks off of it. The 2265 does have pre amp outs so this can be done right? Thank you!
  12. No, it didnt. There must be a problem inside the amp I am going to have to have a tech look at it.
  13. With so much emphasis being put on 'sound at ear level', slant risers, regular risers, etc.....why on earth are the horns on the CF series speakers mounted in the middle? I have heard them, they sound great, just curious why the horn in the middle.
  14. Thanks for sharing those pics!! Killer speakers you've got there!!
  15. Holy Shrapnel! Im glad everyone made it out unscathed! Sorry about the electronics!
  16. Lol! I hear ya! Its all for fun. I dont expect to win any awards!
  17. I was given a pair of Fisher XP95A speakers. They are mint with the exception of the foam around the woofer being deteriorated, no big deal, I have re-foamed several woofers. These are relatively small speakers to have a 15" woofer in them, 28.25" tall x 17.5" wide x 13" deep. They have two 4" mid woofers, a tweeter, and the previously mentioned 15" woofer, all crammed in this little box. There is no bass port of any kind, totally enclosed. The thought crossed my mind, just for fun, why dont I build a larger cabinet out of 3/4" birch, raise the woofer, add a bass port, spread out the mid woofers and mount each tweeter on the outside edges of the face for better soundstage, similar to the vertical cornwall. Anyway, just an idea I was kicking around! I'll open it for discussion, criticism, reasons why or reasons why not! Thanks for reading!
  18. Congrats my fellow Klipschman!!
