  1. They are being honest. You should look into getting a reciever with pre outs if you want to hook up an amp.
  2. I should drive on out. Sure wish they were closer. I guess i could smoke some pot legally out there tho hmmm
  3. $500 for the pair little steep. bet 3 $100 bills would get them....gotta say tho iv tried raking acrossed the nation for klipsch finds you are better than me
  4. About $100 is what they kinda go for used. Hey nice deal! I would look at ebay and get a harman kardon mark 20 or 25 or 25II. find a reasonably priced powered subwoofer 8 or 10" from klipsch, jbl, polk or whatevers about 100watts and you will be set for a lifetime freind...unless you jump aboard and go Big. nice find though
  5. This thread should be stickied for lascalas HF has good dollys that last forever. If you have $50(ignore the $69 price they are $50 in the store)you can grab 1 of these http://www.guitarcenter.com/Rock-N-Roller-RMH1-Mini-Hand-Truck-H77695-i2120344.gc I have several i use for multiple uses including luggage at hotel valet parking. I carry my own stuff i dont trust anybody with my stuff but the cheap 1 is $50 at guitar center and hauls 350lbs has more positions than any other and helps move equipment ever so easily. The 1 at guitar center big or small wheels is identical as the ones on ebay for $100 and on up beyond $600. Iv hauled my 300lb monitors on the small one and its fun. Pick up a couple cheap furniture dollys from Harbor Freight. It really makes the job much easier.
  6. Loalol...i love it! Will obtain for my vocabulary, thank you Dr. Morbius. Did you buy or build your cornscalas? Either way are there anybody building these from Bob Crites diagram and selling? I guess i could talk to Bob yet wanted to ask you. I am going to take your advice soon and jump on board with NOS for sure. I love the i believe, VRD mono blocks. Little pricey but so tasty. I am very hoping he has can get me somthing together a little more reasonably although that is 1 now im trying to pick up info on cornscalas if you could help me here. I wanted to put all chorus 2's in a full system although im looking now into the cornscala center&surrounds all tube maybe 2 cw's in there. Thank you for your help and direction
  7. My jury is still out on this. If they were an onlay of grapes or pineapple or... A music note, a horn, maybe even a roaring lion's head. Some sort of inlay or onlay of contrasting flavor, such as maple on walnut or walnut on oak, and if done right, could look good. If I had a church, these would be fitting for the setting you nailed it..... man, hopefully that is velcro
  8. I very much agree. May be some of the nicest iv seen for the era minus the woodworking

    JBL's on Ebay

ah yeah nice but i just dont have the room halol
  10. This is a great thread. Thanks for sharing!
  11. That is interesting. With the tangent 5000 it is the same woofer as the heresy 3 both with k28 woofers and 4ohms. I do not know their crossover point off hand although due to the passive driver in the tangent 5000 facing foward it makes them very easy to place as mains and or surrounds floor standing or using stands or not in some setups. I have to make a point here and i do have schematics and manuals in my collection in my library...as rare as tangents are if you can get your hands on tangent 400,500,4000or5000 jump on them. They are normally cheap in price when sold although the black cab covering wears off easily they can be redone and these speakers as well as the rest of the tangent line are amazing in stock form, with mods they are amazing with endless possabilities. The 4&5000 are the same with their crossovers built onto the speaker lead plate and with mods these cabs are a great place to start. at this point in time no matter what tangents we own it would be suggested you replace the stock caps. once this is done not only do they sound better than with old caps, depending on the caps you chose they sound better than when bought new and im sure thats what the original poster is getting at here. i wish i could find more tangents around. if i could i would likely have a complete tangent system running, maybe 2. with time and patience i hope to do so. i have yet to see or hear of one complete with all tangents other than 2ch systems. tangents love vacuum tubes in my experience(at high tube amp wattage as well) even more so than the reference and heritage line in some cases in my opinion as well as others i have discussed this with. i know im not being much help rambling on here but i have left my tangent questions up to bob crites due to his vast knowledge of tangents and honest pricing . . .
  12. I have noticed him on here. I hope to see him with more product for sale. Im looking to pulling some solid state amps off the shelf and use tube. Seeing him on the forum as i asked the question nosvalves was on my mind. I will get in touch with him in december and i'll be ready to spend. thank you. hopefully there are more suggestions around here. vacuum tubes are simply amazing is all i can say
  13. beeker

    GREAT lineup !

? Items for your "woofer." lol and the dipstick was during happy hour
  14. To be honest im glad cause they were stressing me out til i could get them, 9hrs away..no kidn. man i wanted them
  15. yes please I have to jump in here and mention bob crites. He is very knowledgable on all klipsch lines and helped me with mods to my tangent 5000's and im still not done. He is also very reasonable on pricing. Im tough to deal with and hate spending too much and only 3/4 months ago i started buying from him and to date have spent about $500 with him, elsewhere would had been $1k+ easily, true statement. Due to his honesty i have to thank him every time i deal with him or his family. My point being made here is Bob Crites is the most knowledgable guy i know on the tangent line let alone klipsch pro and heritage line.Dealing with klipsch original parts is easy as well. They always direct me to what works best in 1 call, not several and being put on hold or callbacks in my experience with them...klipsch the company have helped me seems ever so effortlessly. klipsch service is very good...
  16. Seeing this thread i want to jump onboard to get some vacuum tube pointers as well. There are some good websites with tube info as well as good tech service. A lot of you guys have tons of tube experience so who would you suggest sending vacuum tube units to that are honest, good and reasonable pricing on repairs and or upgrades. Then where are the best notes on tube amps? From caps to biasing where is the best info. Boxx suggested wearing gloves and these are the pointers i appreciate. Thank you for help and direction. I hope your cool with me jumping in here mustang cause this has been weighing on me for a while now having several tube units in use and really only being a few years into tube use. Thank you for direction...unless im asking too much here
  17. They sure did say NIB i seen it as well. Im not sure what kind of kg4 i could spend $600 on unless they were nib. The guys changing his ad so next should be the price. Kg4's are everywhere for sale it seems and they are a good speaker especially compared other brands of same size. People selling kg4's gotta be upgrading or thinning the collection. On this note...theres gotta be some nib kg4's somewhere and that would be a sweet find The ad has been edited. It originally said they were NIB and had never been taken out.
  18. i see that. there was series 1 and series 2 epic cf's. so they must be the cf2's. the pics in comparison surely measures them to be the cf2 then series 1 with single port. either way looks like a nice truckload of equipment! some people just put it all out there for sorta pennies on the dollar. i'v made several hauls like that and even more cheap and more stuff and sold stuff super cheap and checking/testing out everything out in the meantime. for cf2's the rest of that haul makes it pretty sweet. looks like a klipsch kv1 or kv2 center as well
  19. that is a klipsch epic cf-1 in the second pic. looks good
  20. there are a lot of differences tough to know where to start...then again to me would have to come down to taste. are you a heritage or reference person. personally i would lean on the cornwall all day long, specially these cw's and if i needed the space width wise in particular wouldnt have a problem with the rf7's
  21. wish i could help. im editing my post. my ipod is blank. thanks
  22. right on . . . . center channel can be impossible to get correct. a lot of people make do with what they have and do a lot of adjusting from cd to dvd to dvd and so on.. i have used 2k watt amps on center channels and honestly its amazing the results you get. preamps and receivers equalize the wattage and it actually doesnt overthrow power as you may expect. i will look the pics over when im home. your nailing the perfect system. chorus 2's are getting very difficult to come by these days. hopefully after time klipsch will reserect the line. anyhow you should go to technical questions section here on the klipsch forum or i could give you ph no.'s to peepes that work on klipsch networks for fun and are great as well as places such as crites who are pro although if your doing on your own...go up to the technical questions here on the klipsch forum and you should get pointed in the right direction. i'v done some cap work and not sure on what your wanting to do although the klipsch forum technical sections a great place to start . . please update
  23. he had them for sale on here a few months ago. he works in indiana. good guy. i was going to buy them then went with my black chorus ii's
  24. If you ever got these done please share pics. This is 100% on my mind. I have reconstructed several klipsch cabs as close to spec as possible to fit in certain places. ironically i am in a very similar situation now as you have here going 7.1 with all chorus ii's with the back surrounds mounted on wall and would like to see any other re fabbed chorus2 cabs with all original components
