If it is a pair of speakers you really want it is worth the drive,1 if you pick them up you can inspect them,2 it keeps from having shipping damage and 3 checkout the surrounding area you can make a mini vacation while in the area.My wife loves it when I ask her how do you feel about making a trip this weekend to a certain area and the first thing she asked is what is it this trip heavy speakers or heavy amps.

I have 3 pairs of Klipschorns 1 pair heavily modded I bought from Klipsch forum member cigarbum 1 pair with complete Volti horns,bms4592nd mids,beyma tweeters and Volti vtk-400 crossovers 1 pair Klipschorns with ak-4 crossovers I alway liked the modded pair with closed backs the best,I had a pair of Klipschorns with ak-4 crossovers in oak and I sold those when I moved.Then this pair popped up on the Klipsch forum a couple of weeks ago and was within driving distance,so I contacted the seller made a deal and I now have 3 pairs of Klipschorns,3 Lascala II’s and a pair of heresy with slanted legs with the solder k-55v midranges. I have family in this weekend,but I do plan on playing around with all 3 pairs when I get the chance

Beautiful ribbon mahogany 17 finish with AK-4 crossovers,they were missing the trim to seal them in the corners,no big deal there I plan on using pipe insulation.

I was traveling this weekend for my Grandson’s 3rd Birthday and these speakers were only an hour from his home,so I emailed Tom and made a deal to pick them up today.He was great to work with and he helped me wrap up these speakers to keep from being damaged while moving them.I will be out of town until Monday,but when I get home I plan on putting up a few pictures.What I love about this forum is that I have met some nice people who have a passion for Klipsch speakers.I would love to one day be able to make the trip to Hope,Ar during one of the get togethers .

I made the trip today to pick up these great looking speakers,they did have a few lite surface scratches on one of them from the lamp sitting on them,but ole english should take care of that.Tom was a great help with helping me wrap and load them and the money from these speakers will go to help fund a children’s playground at his church.

Yes, the bass and depth of the soundstage with these speakers are some of the best I have heard with Klipschorns and the only reason I was trying to sell them is because I have 2 pairs of Klipschorns.I will just keep both pairs and enjoy them.

How much for the midranges

I guess I need to have my ears checked,I installed a quad set of gold lion kt-66 tubes in my Inspire SEP amp and not only was the bass better,but they smoothed out the top end too.I think it the end each person has to make the changes and decide for himself though I had a friend over yesterday and he could not believe the difference in the sound.

Paul,let us know what you think when you get the mono amps.I have one an Inspire SEP amp that I bought second hand and it was shipped with winged c Svetlana 6550 tubes.My amp has 4 power tubes and the sound was a little thin sounding,I tried 6l6’s ,I then changed the 6sn7 tube and then I pulled the Gold Lion KT-66 tubes from my line magnetic lm-126ia and WOW did that make a difference,smoother on the top end ,better bass and better imaging.I am using his LP-3a preamp and the combo is amazing.I would love a remote for volume control.

I will sell the speakers without the crossovers and midranges for 2000.00 ,then you could add midranges and crossovers of your liking.

I thought the k-55m midranges were black and silver

I have Klipschorns with Volti horns,bms-4592nd mids ,Volti vtk-400 crossovers and Beyma cp25 tweeters ,I installed a RCA NOS 6sn7 gtb red letter base tube and it really helped.

I have a Dennis Had SEP amp that has Russian winged C 6550 tubes and I am looking for a little deeper bass ,has anyone used Gold lion KT-88's and if so could you give me your thoughts on the sound
