  1. i agree! i love my klipsch speakers and i love my Audez'e headphones equally. theres some things my speakers just can't do as well as my headphone rig, and things my headphones just can't do as well as my speakers. But both are a great music experience.
  2. wow. what happened? still saving up for some KLF or chorus xovers. gotta quit buying classic fishers and scotts if thats ever gonna happen though
  3. bump been scouring ebay/AK all summer. i believe the all 3 klf's use the same size port. though the klf10 only has 1 per speaker. Anyboyd parting out either of these feel free to name your price on the 2 ports
  4. Im in need of 2 ports for one my KLF 30's. I believe the 20 ports are the same. If you have a pair or even a single you are willing to part with, name your price. or if you happen to know of a source for them or a very close replacement i'd be grateful. I've tried several from parts express without any luck. thanks Nrap
  5. 150 bucks for some forte bones isn't bad at all. i'd check the driver motors make sure they aren't pinching the voice coils of the mid/tweeter diaphragms. though generally when that happens you will still get some sound out of them.
  6. ive got KLF 30 forte II and chorus I in my listening room. forte II has the better all round mid range. Though i feel the mid horn on the chorus I / forte I might image a little better when in the sweet spot. The KLF is good, especially in the bass, but in the mids they tend to be more shouty than either of the mid horns on the forte/chorus I's and II's. i've never had the forte I setting in my room, but have heard it. It sound just about like the forte II. and really the chorus sounds about the same as well. The KLF sounds the most different, but even then pretty similar except for the peaky spots in the upper mids. Not really a big fan of the KLF mid horn because of it. all of the comparisons are with Ti tweets. if you can score forte ii or i for a good price, do it, throw in the Ti mid diaphragms and tweets, raise em up about a foot and enjoy a great sounding speaker.
  7. My 30's can be a little shouty at times. it seems to be one specific frequency that will resonate or kind of peak sharply. im going to look into some dynamat on the mid horn.
  8. this seems like apretty sweet deal: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882780078 RW 12D for 299$ with the newegg super saver shipping of 2.99$ not bad for a sub with a 1000$ msrp disclaimer: ive never heard it!
  9. I'd love to see a chorus or klf crossover. i'd be all over that. ive read some pretty great things about the benifits of the ALK networks in the forte and cornwalls. just wish i could get something similer for either of those. Crites rebuilds them, but to me thats more of a cap refresh where as alks would be an upgrade.
  10. Just an FYI Those K31's are also being billed as replacement woofers for KLF30 by Klipsch. Parts guy told me its the same woofer to specs just different manufacturer. Looks slightly different too. they might help out someone trying to resurect a pair of big klfs
  11. the link in the op was dead so i just navigated to SF CL and searched Klipsch. sure enough theres a dozen of them. Gotta credit the guy for his persistence. Even if it is completely worthless. I did laugh a little at the crazy.
  12. how well does the dynamat work on the mid horns? i recently acquired some klf30's. different mid i know but the horn material is the same. its not terrible but i do believe i notice more ringing than i do with some of the older horns made of more robust materials. do you just apply it to the outer(inner) part of the horn. the part thats actually the outside of the horn but that is inside the cabinet?
  13. I've got a lot of friends who love music, and really who doesn't? But hardly any actually do it as a primary activity.
  14. no doubt. I can only imagine how great the imaging, bass detail, micro detail, punch tightness ect ect would be. They are on my short list. There was one up for sale for about a grand two-three weeks ago on the AK barter town. i wanted it sooooo badly. still sad i didn't jump on it.
  15. i can't comment on the 1000/2000 but the 500 has quickly become my favorite with my chorus. i thought it would be too bright but its not. tight and punchy with great detail. I can only imagine the 1k/2k would be killer.
  16. yeah the recording quality is great. catchy interesting mix of electronic music. it sounds fantastic on the chorus. a day away from testing it on my newly rebuilt KLF30s. been spinning it a lot this last week.
