  1. You can contact Great Plains Audio in Oklahoma City. They can provide you with original equipment, repairs, re-cones, etc. If I remember correctly one of the engineers from Altec purchased all of Altec's tooling and opened up Great Plains Audio in order to service Altec equipment. https://greatplainsaudio.com/ I've used them several times over the years and highly recommend them.
  2. I have a RC=35 center channel speaker in excellent condition. Looks great! Sounds great! $80 plus shipping.
  3. Nice pair of steel speaker stands. They are in excellent condition and come with spikes. They are 24" stands. I'm pretty sure these are Ballet II. Pic is not of actual item, the stands are currently disassembled and boxed ready to ship. They look identical to the ones in the pic
  4. I prefer to always place surrounds at least 6-8 ft from the floor. I've had success with both dipole/bipole and bookshelf.
  5. Wow! Not sure. It's been so long. Probably one of the Batman movies from a few years ago. I use my expensive Yamaha Blu Ray player to mostly listen to CD's. It seems like we only stream over our Roku anymore.
  6. Probably here to stay and whether or not it is necessary is debatable given the placement of your other speakers. Yamaha has included extra front presence speakers on their higher end receivers for many years. Not quite the same as Atmos, but still an effort to build a larger/taller soundstage.
  7. Since loosing a lot of money on a couple of New Receivers in the mid 00's, I've elected to go the 2-3 year old route since.

  11. I can hook it up and you can play with it, but I have no idea of the quality of the current cartridge or whether or not it is properly aligned. So much depends on proper alignment and matching the TT with a good cartridge. In my experience, I have been able to tell an improvement with certain higher-end tables. However, it really depends on getting them setup properly. I've not had any time to get this one setup and sit down to get some quality time evaluating it. I bought this one on reputation alone and the knowledge that I could flip it. I currently have a Pro-ject table I'm happy with and didn't buy the Sansui to replace it. I just picked it up to flip it to someone who would appreciate it. Having had several Technics 1200's and 1210's over the years, this one seems to have similar build quality, but a nicer overall finish which I guess would be more appealing for home use vs. the commercial use of the Technics.
  12. Up for sale is Sansui's top of the line turntable from the late 70's/ early 80's. The table was purchased locally by me just recently. I've tested it and it seems to work perfectly. If you are in the DFW Metroplex, you are welcome to try it out prior to purchase. It does include a Audio Technic cartridge with the Sansui headshell. Not sure what model the cartridge is though. Cosmetically, the unit is in very good condition with the exception of the one blemish near the tonearm.
  13. Up for sale is a Sonos Play: 3. I believe it is the first generation. As you can see, it is good overall condition. I did reset it to factory settings.
  14. Used, in perfect working order. No remote. The A-9050 Integrated Stereo Amplifier offers the best of both worlds classic analog power and the latest in digital audio processing technology. Whether you're transported by the mellow glow of vinyl, or just want to experience your computer based library with proper hi-fi sound, this is the amp for you. There are three digital inputs linked to a Wolfson® 192 kHz/24-bit DAC, which allow you to exploit the potential of lossless formats such as WAV. Gold-plated audio terminals and gold-plated banana plug-compatible speaker posts ensure a perfect connection for your CD player, tuner, and loudspeakers. However, it's the sound quality that really puts this amplifier in a league of its own. The low negative feedback WRAT design breathes energy and vitality into recordings that can otherwise seem lifeless and flat. As well as DIDRC to eliminate digitally generated noise, the amplifier's Three-Stage Inverted Darlington Circuitry boosts current flows and reduces distortion.Plenty of good clean power and a dash of Japanese audio innovation has resulted in a stereo amp that's shaping up to become a new Onkyo class.75 Watts per Channel (4 Ohms, 1 kHz, 0.08%, 2 Channels Driven, FTC)WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology)DIDRC (Dynamic Intermodulation Distortion Reduction Circuitry)Three-Stage Inverted Darlington CircuitryPhase-Matching Bass BoostWolfson® 192 kHz/24-Bit DACs96 kHz/24-Bit Capable Digital Audio Inputs(1 Optical and 2 Coaxial)Two 10,000 micro farad Capacitors
  15. I never liked the Audyssey corrections as much as the Yamaha's YPAO. Maybe it is because I like a lot of bass when watching action films and Audyssey really corrected it with reducing bass output and increasing everything else to get a flat response. It really reduced overall output. YPAO does the same, but it doesn't seem to be as drastic. Audyssey for music works great, but for movies...not sure.
  16. I owned the RX-v2700 too! It was a great unit and had a pretty nice amplifier section. It was definitely more powerful than the RX-A1020 I'm using now. Man $75 is a bummer. I sold mine maybe 2-3 years ago. Fortunately, I got $200 for mine.
