    What I Got Today!

I took advantage of the sale going on and ordered the GIG. It is my first bluetooth speaker and it was a breeze to set up with my macbook, the sound is pretty good for such a small speaker, I'm gonna like it!
  2. Ok, I am going to sell the KG5.5 to a friend this weekend. Not sure what to charge though, I got the deal of a lifetime on them and they are in great shape. I'll probably just let her use them and see if she likes them, I already sold her my RB51 last year and those are fine for her, I'm slowly trying to get her up to 5.1. I also have a RC52 sitting in the basement, so all she would need is a sub. Of course this would not be optimal, but it would work. Thanks for the advise. The heresy's will be in the spare room with a kenwood ka7100 and pioneer cd player.
  3. I currently use Cornwall II's for home theater and 2channel in the living room. KG 5.5's in the bedroom for strictly 2channel. Heresy's that sit unused. All my rooms are really small, and the speakers all sound great. Which would you keep?? Trying to decide which of the herd to thin out. Thanks
  4. Well they are too heavy for me to maneuver by myself, but, I think you are right. I would prefer to find a replacement because they will be on hardwood. Would I just e-mail klipsch to see if they have one? I am going to post an iso in garage sale also. Thanks
  5. Yep, I thought of you when I posted-lol
  6. Alright, finally got them in the house yesterday. FIRST OFF-WOW!! They sound great in my crappy room without any treatments and running off of a Yamaha CR-600 and a 1985 Quasar cd player. I like them better than my Hereseys running in the same configuration. Santana and Johnny Lang were rockin!! One of the pegs on the bottom was replaced with a spike and it is shorter than the rest. The funny thing, they were rockin soo hard the speaker was rockin back and forth. I am going to attempt to post photos.

  8. I already got them. Talked them down to $75, and they are in great shape. I'm clearing some space to get them in the house. Gonna try them in the 2channel set up first. Gotta get the Hereseys moved first. Will get some pics up soon.

    What I Got Today!

I got a pair of KG 5.5 for $75 off of CL yesterday. Will post pics as soon as they are in the house. Looking forward to comparing them to my heritage speakers.
  10. Thanks for the responses. Well I already bought them-$75. Original owner, very nice shape, I use Cornwall II's daily, and have Heresey's hooked up for 2channel in the bedroom to a Yamaha CR 600. I have to get someone to help me unload them. I tucked them in with a blanket last night in the car. I have an addiction like the rest of you. Will post pics as soon as I get them in the house.
  11. Going to look at the above speakers as soon as they go and get a tuner to listen to them. Pictures look decent. What would these compare to say Heresey's or reference ii line?? And a good price.
  12. Relisted for starting bid of $225 or buy it now $300 with 75 shipping.
  13. Thanks mach, but, mine say super monte carlo on the tags, and the grills are brown not black. I'm glad because they match my cornwalls. I tried to take pictures of them this morning, but my camera battery died. will try to get some up tomorrow.
  14. New to me. I just got some Frazier Super Monte Carlo speakers from my uncle who passed last summer. I replaced my RC-52II with one of them yesterday, and the difference is remarkable. I haven't re-run the calibration and it still sounds great. Oh, I am running it between Cornwall II's with Kg 1.5 as side surrounds with an rw-10d sub in a pretty small room. I can't find very much info on these speakers. I have the orig boxes, sales receipt, and brochure. The brochure doesn't even list the super monte carlo's, just the monte carlos. These are from 1974 and pristine condition. To me, these are comparable to Heresy's in sound. I am happy now, and will run calibration today and watch a blu-ray tonight.
  15. I'm excited to just listen to 2channel with my CR-600. My pioneer avr sounds ok on my Cornwall's, but, the Yammy really brings them to life. Just sounds really sweet. Amazes me that the Yammy picks up my fav radio station, but the Pioneer does not? I will def be keeping the Cr-600!
  16. Ok, tested everything out once I got the Yammy home. It is confirmed-I'M A DUMBA**!! I had the speakers hooked up wrong, the older I get the worse my eyes are. I had one to speaker A and one to speaker B-DUH. Anyway, the cassette works, all lights, meters, etc are perfect. My one problem is the volume goes up and down slightly. Could this just because it needs cleaned?? Any input on Pioneer silver-faces cassette players is welcome. Thanks
  17. Ok, took the Yamaha into a local tv repair shop. They charge $20 deposit, anyway, they called and said it is working fine-both channels. I must be a dumba** or it decided to work on the drive over. I'm happy again
  18. Thanks guys. But, the left channel just quit working on the Cr-600-DAMN!! Still haven't tried the other components. Gonna clean out the spare room and set it up today and test the rest. I am not tech saavy, I am going to remove the case and see if I notice anything obvious. Otherwise, will be searching for a tech in the Utah/Idaho area. If anyone knows of any, let me know. On a side note, I also was bidding on a Pioneer vsx-921k that sold for $84. Good prices. Anyway, still stoked, but a little bummed too.
  19. Been looking for a vintage ss receiver/amp for 2-channel. Well, I bid on a Yamaha CR-600, Pioneer CT-F2121, and a Quasar cd player-with a faux wood case, also came with an old Pioneer rack. Anyway, I won the bid for $68 for all of these items. I will say the Yamaha is TOTALLY MINT-not one scratch on the wood case, and it works flawlessly-rockin the Cornwall II's now. I haven't hooked up the other stuff yet. I was really interested in the Yamaha. As a side note, I picked up a mini-system-Yamaha GX-505 for $30. Gonna give that to my parents,. These items came from an estate sale, I swear the Yamaha receiver was hardly used, all the knobs are really smooth. Needless to say, I am stoked!!
  20. So, besides the one on e-bay, what brands do you all use? I bought some Frazier Monte Carlo's that I will be using this to test.
  21. Thanks for the replies. Schu, I've seen that video. Cool, but I don't want to deal with that. Looking at Parts Express, they have a Lepai for under $20, or a Topping for over $50?? Any opinions?
  22. Hi all, I need an amp to take with me to listen to some speakers I bought. Was thinking of a t-amp or something similar and under $50. Might use it on the patio or in the bedroom after that. I have no experience with these, but need something small and lightweight. Thanks
  23. My sister has been working on this for the past year. FYI for anyone wanting to watch this broadcast!! Enjoy, I know I will be. Sunday, February 23, 2014 12:50 PM Pacific Standard Time (West Coast Time) At that time you can click on this link to watch http://newunsungheroes.org/2014-event/live-webcast/

    RT-10D price?

Thanks guys, that's exactly what I thought. It has been sitting, it is covered in dust. This is the only "real" stereo store in town, so, his prices are full retail, and he won't budge.
  25. No prob, I had to check myself before posting.
