  1. would cost more in gas to drive to d/m & a 4 hour round trip....
  2. speedy delivery will ship this for about $20 or less. would need a few bucks to buy a box at walmart & some packing material...
  3. pics show the serial #. 250th day of 1995, so most likey version 3 but possibly 2's. still a great deal IMO.
  4. no sale, stayed at $365. what did you bet & what do i win ceptorman?? cant believe nobody here bought them or showed any interest & no one else on the east coast got em. $450 for very nice cf-3's is a far better deal than i see people get all goo goo over for models like heresies & fortes & mid level reference models. & if his reserve was ~$400 that was a steal of a deal. but im sure they will get relisted or someone will contact him for a direct sale to save him on ebay fees.
  5. you can upgrade the terminals... but anything newer than about mid to late 80's k-horns & lascalas should have the bigger binding style posts. i only see the small screw type on older speakers.
  6. wow, no interest in $450 oak cf-3's? 1hr left with 16 bids & the reserve isnt met...

    USPS - Lost in Space

And even more difficult to argue with people who make unfounded accusations. Where the hell did Obama come in? It is Congress (not the Executive Branch) that regulated the Post Office. And the issue is not tracking, it is that it has been none days and no package. As for tracking, can watch my package each step of the way from UPS. unfounded accusations?? your initial post basically blamed the "government" for this delay & no trackinmg updates... i just used "obama" as a general term for the government. i said "government" specifically a few times.... no need to pick apart words, or get upset with using "hell" "none days" ??? the 14th of march was a saturday... most businesses are closed as far as employees to pack an item, so my guess is that the label was created & scanned into the system, then it had to go through customs in canada, then customs in usa, then is on its way to you. calm down, it will arrive on time or very soon after, if not im sure it was insured. its not lost in space... like i said, hard to discuss anything related to government with people who blame them for things they have nothing to do with.

ok great... but is that why your package wasnt tracked every step of its voyage??? no, its not. i just had something shipped by fedex last week... same deal, it was scanned at the time of pickup, then never scanned again, looked like it was sitting in texas for 3 days & it was coming from texas to iowa. low & behold it showed up at my door a day before the estimated delivery date & then showed delivered 4 hours after the fact. not trying to argue at all here, you are entitled to your opinion... but its very difficult to talk reason with people who blame obama for everything.

When competition is removed (as when the government sets up a monopoly and then funds an inefficient enterprise) the public suffers. In the case of USPS the government has set up a monopoly, at least as to mail delivery, an then pumps untold millions into keeping it afloat. not doubting that goverment interjection can have its downfalls, but to blame the gov'ment for your package not being tracked properly makes no sense at all. private shippers do the same thing & obama didnt have anything to do with that.... even before usps had its financial problems that the government bailed them out of, they still had occasional delivery & tracking issues. so is the government really to blame here? actually to avoid this turning into a debate of gov'ment, you dont need to answer that. just pointing out the fact that obama isnt the reason the tracking is lacking.
  11. & if the WAF kills big k-horns. how about palladiums?

FYI: tracking info for usps or fedex & ups etc is not always updated daily. many times the last update is when it arrived at a major hub, like chicago. the package could very well be in route to you & just not have been scanned by the person(s) handling it. its not an hourly or daily type thing. ive had many packages that were scanned at pickup then never updated untill it was at my door, then it would show delivered... & no offense intended, but the government has nothing to do with the scanning & tracking of millions of packages that get shipped on a daily basis, this happens for privately owned shippers too. its not obamas fault.
  13. i was going to buy it but dont need a single heresy. if you need, i can pick it up & do what i can to ship it to you.
  14. seems like a very good deal, located in virginia. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pair-Klipsch-CF-3-Epic-Floorstanding-Loudspeakers-Audiophile-Speakers-Med-Oak-/321704982089?
  15. nice amp, GLWS. usnret: that poor amp on the bottom is carrying one heck of a load!!
  16. the 55m driver & AK-3 xovers i have seen have all leads soldered. the mid is connected with push on connectors but if you look close they are soldered. i think the ak-2 did this too. not sure what year your speakers are, but most mid 80's to mid 90's k-horns will have this type of connection, not sure of the exact years but the ones with the big clear monster cable wires are most likely soldered.
  17. as for disconnecting leads... not all k-horns or lascala or belles can do that, only the older ones. speakers around the late 80's or early 90's the crossover & mid/tweets all had soldered leads, you cant remove them without desoldering the wires. as for the ohm meter testing, if you have never used an ohm meter, or even if you have, i would not EVER let someone go poking around on my crossovers. & i highly doubt any owner/seller would allow it either, so dont waste your time trying to do that. go buy a meter if you want to get familiar with how to use it & maybe after you buy them you can play around with that. but chances are if you look at the speakers & they say PWK on them, they are original or genuine klipsch drivers. same goes for opening the bass bin door, cant believe it's being suggested you try to do that. there is no way in heck i would allow anyone with a screwdriver, or ohm meter, anywhere near my k-horns! i didnt expect or even think to do that when i bought mine & wouldnt expect anyone to do it if i ever sell them. testing the tweeter is pretty easy, the toilet paper tube idea is good but still hard to hear it when the mid squaker is squaking in your face. easiest way is to use a flat piece of cardboard or other similar thing to simply cover the mid opening, then stick your ear in front of the tweeter, you will easily hear it playing the high notes, unless of course you have a hearing problem. actually your hand should suffice for blocking 90% of the mid sound. aside from that & some of whats mentioned above, just bring some music you are familiar with, or even rely on what the selller has. all you are doing is verifying all drivers work, critical listening will be done in your home. dont be afraid to ask the seller to turn the volume up a bit so you can feel the bass, if there is no popping or "farting" noise from the woofers chances are the speakers as a whole are fine. cosmetic issues are based on whats acceptable to you & usually will reflect the price. & whatever you do, dont let the seller persuade you by saying what "new" k-horns cost... this is a common tactic & has nothing to do with the price of 20-30+ year old speakers. if that comes up, tell him you have a 1986 ford truck you will sell him for $20 grand... because you know, 2015 ford trucks sell for $40 grand!
  18. 6days 23 hours... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-Forte-II-Main-Stereo-Speakers-/281623217337?
  19. ah, thanks for clarifying that... "I cannot open my saved data."
  20. thanks for the info chief. aside from the vent they are the same though? same ohm & other specs? on the same note, why do i see some fortes with the smaller round speaker terminal cup & they say 4ohm, while other forte & all forte2 have the bigger square one & are rated at 8ohm?
  21. quick question regarding the woofers in forte & forte 2. are they the same woofer? i read a recent post where a member said the woofers are the same... but klipsch part#'s are k23 for the forte & k25 for the forte 2. what is the difference?
