  1. yeah, i had been busy this weekend and havent visited the forums as often as i normally do. i will take a pic as soon as i get off work in the am.
  2. beings as you live in tn, ill invite you to my house, i have the synergy series speakers, reference, and some la scalas that you can listen to.
  3. i will, i just have been busy during the week. lots will get done on monday, i will show pictures monday night.
  4. i havent gotten that far yet. been working pretty hard at work, then i had to help my parents out a few days ago. i got something up my sleve, which i will most likely send to the next person that decides to build their own boxes as well. thinking about just making it a klipsch community tool! but yall are gonna have to wait to see that part!
  5. Is the back of the amp rack open? yes, i actually cut it open a little more because i was tired of trying to fit wires through a little hole. the back is also open in the middle where i have my computer and my receiver.
  6. i used liquid nails and sheetrock screws. yes, the guy at lowes cut them all up for me as my arm saw is messed up at the moment. all peices fit together perfectly so far, i had to sand one of the port suports down just a hair to get it to slide down on the back side. but i cant complain at all!
  7. That thing is a beast! I think it may be too large for me. More than I want to spend, too. Why does it have two different crossover points? Would the RC-52 be too small to match up well with my 82s? it has two crossover points to creat what they call a tapered array, two of the drivers are at one setpoint and the other two are at the other if i understand correctly. if you are going to listen to music, i dont see much benefit with using a center channel. if you think you will later use it as a home theater setup to watch movies on them, i would get a center channel. that being said, i do think in time you will find the 52 lacking in power compared to the 82s. some of these folks may have different findings of course.
  8. garage setup, keeping me company along with my old lady as we are putting it together. floor vent is attached, fitting the back vent supports. back is all attached. this is as far as i got with both of the boxes. gonna make a template to use with a router before i make the faces and drop the top on it. putting new amps in and new receiver now.
  9. after work i measured and labeled all of the pieces. figured this would simplify the process. here the sides and bottom are attached, the back is there just for spacing. my messy garage. haha here i am building the bottom port. the back has been attached by now. beer!!!
  10. i second the rc64 idea. but it is on the expensive side!

Are you offering a trade-in program? j/k i agree! is there such a thing offered??
  12. heck, for 1k if he bides his time, watches fleabay and craigslist, he can land some rf7s for that budget.
  13. do you not have a center channel?
  14. i set up a whole new system in the garage. fixing to start putting together a better system in the bedroom, and still screwing with the system in the livingroom. the way i see it, just build you a new system if you dont want to go with 7.1. i run 4 floor standing speakers in the garage, and that was the system that i had in the livingroom before i had the upgrade fever.
  15. bought a hk 3700 (for the pre-outs) and a inuke nu4 6000. wired up the speakon connectors, bought some xlr to rca adapter wires, and put it all together today. basically i have no output coming from multiple sources. xbox 360, ps3, and computer over hdmi and optical. if i turn up the 6000 all the way, and turn the receiver up all the way. i can faintly hear the sound coming from my front speakers. i took apart the wires because i thought maybe it was wired up wrong. the center rca goes to pin number 2, the sleeve goes to pin 1 and 3. according to what i found online, this seems right. does the inuke take a different pinout? after putting on the speakon connectors, they dont want to come off easy at all! i ordered female connectors so i can plug it up to my receiver directly to run it while i wait to fix the amping problem. i also ordered rca to 3.5mm to test the rca outputs as i am not sure of any other way to test with the random crap that i do have. thanks folks.
  16. i agree with the build quality, htc seems to out do samsung, but i believe samsung uses more plastic to keep from impeding with the internal radios and get a little better reception. I'm pretty sure apple stepped away from the aluminum for the same reasons. i have samsung, and i have for quite some time, their screens are by far better looking than htc, or any other brand for that matter imo. as far as audio quality, it plays lossless and sounds pretty damn good on my mode 40 and image x10, i can't really tell much difference from my phone to mac book pro in lossless quality sound. i also have a friend who loves htc, but seems to always have problems with it.
  17. here is the mdf i ended up with, its on the thinner side only being 3/4, but its the thickest i found at lowes. in the third pic is the cutting jig they have set up, my saw actually has a bad cap, and its been forever since i messed with it so i just opted to have them cut it up for me. and lastly, finished product, they guy wouldn't even take cash that i was trying to give him! he spent a good hour and a half cutting it up, while i was getting other random stuff but wouldn't accept any payment! mdf ended up costing me a total of 137, i bribed my mom to come and meet me (retired military get 10 percent off).
  18. Now you "need" this. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/151335-for-sale-sherbourn-pa7-350/#entry1759999 Haha, I already saw it, I bought one of those inuke 6000 4 amps. It was cheap enough to go out on a limb and test, if it sounds good then it will stay, if not, I'll find something else. The 6000 was recommended by a few folks. @8 ohms it claimed 440 watts.
  19. id like to build something like this and then veneer it to mach my rf7iis
  20. thats nearly 600 bucks that i could cut down to around 120. pretty sure i can get lowes to cut it up for me if i toss the guy a couple of bucks. i have built boxes before, but i was nowhere near this precise. i had read some on that thread. and several others as well. i cant seem to find exactly what i want with the placement. ill upload a photo in a bit if i see it again. i have looked at so much stuff i cant seem to remember where i saw the one that i wanted to mimic.
  21. the mini marty, if i can find out what the interier looks like?! i want them sitting up long ways, with the sub facing forward, and the vent at the bottom. but im not sure what the baffles and what not look like on the inside of the box.
  22. yeah, i will take lots of pics. im hoping to talk the lowes or home depot guys into cutting all the pieces for me, my arm saw has a bad capacitor and i forgot how i took it out.
