I moved 2 Klipschorns with tops taken off in a Chrysler Town n Country minivan with a reported 140 sq feet max cargo area. I had the 4 pieces laying flat.Yes, there was space above everything, but i was pretty full. Check the cargo space on your vehicle. I can give you dimensions of each Klipschorn piece if needed.

  2. In think you’re asking great questions. I’m only relying on my experience with OEM manufacturers selling products to the large national rental companies.

I don't think the national rental companies have large well trained service departments. That’s expensive and it’s not how they make money. My guess is the maintenance costs entering the fifth year of ownership start rising to the point it makes sense to replenish their fleet.

  3. Before retiring, I worked as an application engineer in the hydraulic industry. Manufacturers of equipment designed for the rental market always produced products as inexpensively as possible with a very short useable design life.

I'd be very careful buying a man lift being sold by a rental company. If they thought it was dependable they would be renting it.

Message me if you want to talk in greater detail.

  4. What style of man lift are you looking to buy? One that lifts vertically or one the has an arm with a basket? The vertical lifts are generally safer as they don’t apply a load on a lever to the base like the bucket lifts do.

Ask for the service records. If there are hydraulic components get an oil sample analyzed from the hydraulic reservoir. Replacing worn out hydraulic components is expensive.

no plans on veneering them.  They will get a complete sanding down to the wood.  There are a few minor repairs to make.  Ultimately, they are slated for Plum Mahogany (version II).  I liked the 1st pair so well, gonna do it again.  That was the only pair I really had a hard time letting go.  Keepers this time!

I plan on updating the AA crossovers with the Crites kit.  They have 77 square, 55 spring lug.  I haven't pulled the dog house cover yet to reveal square or round K33.   Pretty simple restoration, just time consuming.

For sure. These are absolutely fantastic. I had to part with them when I moved last summer. Maybe not the smartest thing I've ever done

Can't wait to see your next creation. I’m sure they will be spectacular.

Msde it back home.  It's a mess but nothing broken or damaged.

Glad to hear that. Getting back to see what happened is the hardest part of dealing with hurricanes.

Best of luck to you and yours.

Is it rocking you guys in Charleston @sunburnwilly ?

Sitting here in Sunset Beach. Looks like landfall in a few hours right on top of us. So far rain and not much wind. Still have power so that’s a plus. Might see 60 mph plus winds before it’s over.

To the OP, the Decware amp will make your La Scalas sing beautifully. Makes my Khorns sound great.

After I sorted them out from being in Richieb's possession.......
