  1. I'm actually in the market for the C and S right now, but I don't know for sure my budget would play friendly with what you'd be asking. But to help you get an answer: What condition are they in? Include grills? Drivers okay? Sound okay? Boxes? Pictures?
  2. I may be interested in a pair of the 4's...let me mull it over a little bit and I'll make an offer. Need to replace some speakers in one of my rooms in the house that's got a sub on it.
  3. Ok, i am going to sell the miccas and get (two) Klipsch KF-28 Icon fronts and the Klipsch KC-25 Icon center channel. Does that sound like a good choice ? If that's what you feel would be best for you. I personally would keep a watch on my local craigs list or ebay though. I know there are some pretty good deals on reference speakers that are legit on eBay.
  4. The RC 62 II should play nice with the RF 82 II's, I don't think you'll have any qualms about what your sound stage is like with that configuration.
  5. ^ I would only object that the Polk PRO Subwoofer series tends to blend rather nicely with Klipsch speakers. I've been using a 660 12" sub for about three years now, and it's complimented the Klipsch wonderfully. Just my two cents.
  6. I'd probably contact them just to be sure. I remember when I bought my RF-3 II's the serials weren't consecutive on them that torqued me a bit (they were 2019 and 2022), but both sound great and were in good shape, so I let it go. Had to put the heat on the retailer a bit though.
  7. Oh, don't get me wrong - not knocking the subs. Just saying an upgrade should be in the future. As for the consumption of free time...pay important attention to that - because it's true...lol
  8. Also, don't feel too bad about fragmenting. I'd phase out your subs for something better eventually, but in the meantime if all you can do is 2.2, then do so. Having a strong pair is better than a weak set of five. I got my first pair of Klipsch when I was 14, and never looked back since. It took me many years to save up to get all of the other pieces of the puzzle together, but I learned a lot doing it, and had a lot of fun. I think you'll be a lot happier if you sink that 1K in a good strong pair or cover your main channels first before proceeding to the rears. I'd drop the mixing of brands, again...having a strong pair is better than a weak set.
  9. Thanks billy! Enjoy her, and treat her right - she'll do the same for you! Rock on!
  10. On that budget you could get a Quintet setup, but it's not going to wow you like the rest of the Klipsch speakers will. A decent Polk setup will also run outside of your budget. My recommendation would be to echo what Sancho has already said and abandon the "must be new idea" for craigslist. You can find treasures beyond your wildest dreams there, and that $1,000 being bent a little upward could mean a banger of a system for you.
  11. I've had a couple of photographs published in the past...
  12. It's really easy if you gank the mic.
  13. I think it has more to do with the fact that if you see copper colored drivers you know it's Klipsch. I'm personally quite content with them keeping with that idea.
  14. I doubt you'd have that problem if it was an older Yamaha. Might look at getting ahold of an older Yam, or a new Denon as previously recommended by others.
  15. I don't like using YPAO. I like to listen and decide for myself what sounds best. The amplifier - no matter how smart or state of the art is not me, and likewise it's not going to know my tastes as well as I do. I'd also recommend going 2.1 instead of mismatching audio. I think you'll feel a lot better going that route. Not much to stick out when dealing with Klipsch anyway, you're still going to get great sound, you won't even miss the smaller speakers.
  16. If I had the cash right now, I'd buy those for the organization I help out with, they sure could use a good PA setup for outdoor events they hold. Hate letting it go though.
  17. I'm looking for an RC-3 II and an RS-3 II pair to round off my RF-3's. I have an RC-52 II and a pair of RS-42 II's now, but I'd like to round the system off and get things sync'd a little better. It's a case of neuroticism.
  18. Gotcha. I don't have anything particular I'm watching right now, just have heard horror stories and wanted to avoid a bad experience.
  19. Ah great, another engine to try. Maybe it'll yield some better results. Are there any other questions to ask other than determining condition, and verifying that the serial sticker is in tact (along with original purchase location)?
  20. So, apparently...most people in the part of the country I'm in either really love their Klipsch, or have never even heard of it. It's really depressing, as Craigslist frequently yields no results. I was wondering, is there a definitive way to determine how genuine or legit a Klipsch product is on eBay? Is it safe to say that most personal-sales are safe bets? (i.e. not B-Products) What kind of things can I look for to figure out if something is a good deal or not? I have not yet purchased any Klipsch products online, always new...but I'm looking for some of the older lines to finish off a system. Any feedback is appreciated!
  21. Some RF-5's were on CL not too long ago in the Cedar Rapids area that were around $500, which isn't bad all things considered. Maybe keep your eyes peeled for that.
  22. I have 8" drivers in my bedroom and like them just fine, they sound better at higher volumes than the 6.5's in the living room. They also handle pure audio a lot better than the ones in the other room. I'd definitely recommend going larger if you can spare the buck.
  23. I had issues with my Pro Media too. Seems that the volume control module has some issues. I still get crackling every now and then after I had Klipsch replace the first one, but it's better. I'd call in and see about having the controller replaced, as that is the most likely culprit. The issues I had were primarily an issue of low volume on one side. Do you get stereo audio if you use the headphone jack? Like if you plug in headphones do you get stereo sound through the headphones, or no?
