I have a pair of Heresy’s and I’m trying to find out what model and/or the year they were manufactured.  The label on the back shows that the mode was HWL, the serial number is 61S952.  They were inspected by Gevin Fox and tested by NW Bradford.  Can anyone help?  Thanks…

HWL.means they are Heresy Walnut Lacquer. The lacquer was not a typical model, so hopefully they are in good condition still. Post pics!

  2. Do both speakers sound the same (muddy, etc)? The crossovers probably need to have the capacitors replaced. If you can solder, you can buy the caps and do it yourself. If not, you can send out the crossovers to have the caps replaced. Look into Crites Speakers for crossover service. You could buy just caps from them, you can contact JEM Performance Audio for Klipsch approved caps, or you can buy whatever brand you want from places like Parts Express. Good luck, stick around, post pictures, ask questions, etc

@Dac6125 I just crammed my Heresy ii into my living room cabinets. There is definitely a slight loss in imaging as opposed to sitting out in front of the cabinets, but I (&wife) didn’t want them sitting in the floor. There are mainly there to provide low volume enjoyment and they do that just fine. I know it looks a bit bare above the gear

(new house). Still planning to add shelves in the upper sections of the cubbies.

You could always put them on top of the cabinets

  4. Testing the waters on selling my Pioneer SX-1980 vintage monster receiver.

This receiver was fully professionally serviced by a local audio service company. The technician benchmarked the receiver at around 310 watts per channel! The bottom panel is not original, but a local machine shop laser cut a panel for me that was designed off of a template that someone made for me from audio karma. The lamps were replaced with LEDs. The only issue is the Speaker C connectors are frozen shut.

I was hoping for a local deal, considering the size and weight. I'm guessing shipping would cost $200 ish considering I would need to go nuts building a shipping container.

I am asking $8,000 or best offer for forum members.

Measures out to be a 2" vc, with a 3" surround.

Question for the experts, is the retaining ring glued in or epoxy, plastic weld, et.c?

@Chief bonehead, or any other experts.

Is this a tweeter? If so, you can replace the diaphragms of the tweeters with titanium tweeter diaphragms. You can buy them from Crites Speakers. What did this come out of?

    Hello,

our local senior center had a yard sale to raise money and I offered to help them identify more expensive donated items.

these speakers stood out big time.

can you help identify the year and model?

also any idea of value and a trusted sales venue to offer them in would be appreciated.

I know they also need to be tested before being sold.

Anything to look out for when hooking them up?

I have more photos but had to crop these to get below 2 MB. They are in showroom condition, with original covers.

thank-you so much for any assistance.

    sincerely,

    mike Stewart

Klipsch KG4.2 speakers in oak oil finish. As long as they are in good cosmetic and functional condition, they are worth between $200-500 ish also depends on location. It's a 2 way speaker, which means there's only 2 electric parts making noise. The tweeter (horn part) makes highs frequencies, and the bass woofer (top circle). The bottom circle is actually a passive radiator, not a woofer, which produces bass from the air pressures inside the cabinet from the bass woofer moving. They are a very good sounding model speaker. Good luck to you, try them out, you may not want to let them get away from you.
