Alpine makes good speakers but you need to listen to the type R line. Also listen to JL, Infinity, and MB Quart.

As much as i like Yamaha these models just don't compare to the offerings from B&K and Sunfire. In the Yamaha line he should look at the RX-V4600 and the RX-Z9. He should also look at the offerings from Rotel and Arcam in his price range.

Yamaha RX-V4600

For $1200-$1299 the Yamaha RX-V2600 or for $999 the Yamaha RX-V1600. Both are nice receivers with smooth sound and good auto calibration.

No sir, no dust in the prior pics. And this guy brought me a boatload of dust pics thinking he had caught all kinds of orbs. But this one seems legit. I emailed it to the local paranormal investigating group and they said it was the first orb pic they have seen that looks like the real deal.
