  1. Not a thread crapper.Just pointing out BS. Pretty easy, this one was low hanging fruit.
  2. Awesome... we get to discuss colossal blunders of politicians now? This will be fun...
  3. Excellent. It's gonna be a fun weekend !!
  4. Yep. Looks great. Time to shake the house !

    Is this a 1st?

Mods & Admin can access locked,or (soft deleted) threads (among many other things, nothing unfair about it.... pretty standard.

    Is this a 1st?

Based on other threads here... that one was pretty mild.
  7. Probably getting PS4 & XBOX One. Great deals & bundles have already been announced.
  8. Good eye again! Local (news) shots from yesterday. Chicago is the Windy city... & we are on the other side of that. So, plenty of wind here as well. Yesterday up to 60mph winds bringing 20 foot+ waves all along the shore from St. Joe to Luddington. I love the Lake.
  9. I'm a water guy, never lived anywhere without the Lake or Ocean nearby. The pics (not mine) are from local news sources from yesterday. Good eye DizRotus! I'm basically straight across form you, on the other side. You are right, the 1st shot is South Haven... the other 2 are Muskegon. I'm actually in between... closer to Big Red (but its further back in the channel & protected somewhat).
  10. We've had tremendous winds the past few days (& nights). Not my pics, but here's what 50+mph winds are like on the lake. So windy & noisy now... can't sleep.
  11. For years I only had one sub in place & was perfectly fine... until about 5 years ago when I added a second. LFE is omni-directional, but most spaces are not perfect & can benefit from 2 (or more) subs. For my home theater experience, just one sub is no longer an option (& my space is only 16' x 13').
  12. I have Maleficent (with Jolie) & it was meh. So I passed on the new Cinderella. Branagh can be hit or miss. Holiday's are coming up (with family & friends)... do you recommend Cindy?
  13. Excellent! Moving your subs & tweaking your settings (small for mains etc.) will help dial in your system. Your XPA is a beast.
  14. In addition to balancing out your space, other reason I initially recommended the possibility of a matching R-115SW, is it would be the least expensive option for change & scratch the upgrade itch (vs. new AVR or Front Mains, etc.). But even better if you can repurpose & reposition your 112 & make it work! As far as what your missing... DTS:X & Atmos would be a consideration when it comes to movies. Lot's of AVR options with DTS:X & Atmos capability. And plenty of in-ceiling or upward firing speaker option as well. Object based audio is very effective & is changing the way we experience movies. I have enjoyed Atmos for over a year now & wouldn't go back to a non-Atmos setup. If you're a movie buff like me... you'll enjoy the new format. And I'm not selling anything, not hitting you with phone #'s & website spam.
  15. An alternative to the RF-7 ll... is the RF-7. A pair of those can be found very reasonable in the secondary market (CL) & even right here on the forum. Keep your eye out for them in your area & you could land a great deal. Same for the RC-64 ll... another (less expensive) alternative would be the RC-7.
  16. Glad you could you experiment with different sub locations... proper placement (within your specific room) can make a big impact-improvement. I'd set your 82's to "Small" & let your subs handle LFE. My RF-7's are set to small (as well as all my other speakers; center & surrounds).. that helps to define the sound stage... it could help with you Mid's (that were perceived to be lacking).
  17. Haaa. at least JT has this:
  18. Nothing "wrong" in the traditional sense. Its about balance. The reason I mentioned to consider adding a second (matching) R-115SW was to even out the room. Every room is different, but with your current (mixed 12" & 15") both positioned on the right side, it could throw the balance off, with the subs dominating the right side of your space. That placement could mitigate or adversely effect the mid's you are missing. If space allows, try several different placements with your existing subs such as front right & left. Your current 12" & 15" might work well together, but since you are considering the upgrade itch... 2 matching subs will add to the overall balance even better.
  19. Sick? Pretty sure the R-611 is a cybernetic organism. Living tissue over a metal endoskeleton. Thirty-five years from now, you reprogrammed this "faux sickness" here, in this time... in order to watch Genesys unimpeded.
  20. I'd like to say welcome to the forum & thank you for your service. Nice set up you've established. Your room size could benefit from having (2) R-115SW's in place. I'd start there.
  21. For CD playback... I have the: ** Oppo 103 ** PS3 ** Xbox 360 ** Toshiba HD-XA2 ** Sony DVP-S7700 Never had an issue with any of them with CD, SACD, DVD, HD DVD or Blu-ray. I also just ordered up my first Blu-ray Pure Audio disc (Mastered at 24bit/96k).
  22. Nice... my copy arrived today. Looking forward to watching it. Especially since there's nothing else coming out for the rest of the year, other than Mission Impossible (12/15) T2 is still my favorite. I've yet to see Genesys.
  23. The new Reference Premiere line has received a (first ever) 5 Star Gear Review from Michael Palmer at HD Digest. Nice to see the RP-280FA & 140SA (and the full RP collection) get a good workout. I agree Mad Max & San Andreas are 2 of the best authored Atmos Blu-rays, full of demo worthy material. Full link & excerpts... 548lbs of goodness: http://hdgear.highdefdigest.com/27568/klipschreferencepremiereserieswithdolbyatmos.html =================== ==================
  24. All the stats, graphs & restaurant talk makes me hungry.
  25. I own the (single transport) Sony DVP-S7700 & it was engineered to be a beast. The workhorse is still performing duty 15-16 years later. Never owned (or wanted to own a multi-transport player).
