  1. Wow, no responses to this? I think those look pretty awesome!
  2. It's not the look that's the issue...it's more work/money/things needing to be in the room to accommodate it. I've also run out my quota of gear swapping for a while.
  3. No problem at all. I wouldn't have thought the 450 had more depth either. No, we don't...but we do like to keep the wives happy. [emoji6]
  4. The 450 is 2" deeper than the 64. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Joining the group! I've also got an rc-64ii but my TV is too big to fit on it, so I'm using my RP-450c. The center actually matches pretty perfectly, so I'm happy. The RC will probably find a new home.
  6. Definitely agree. I was nervous when getting the 7ii, based on so many comments about needing lots of power for them. I drive them with my 100wpc NAD T758 and they are spectacular. I've driven my RP-280F with my 30wpc NAD integrated, which I'll also try on the 7ii. Any high quality amp should be able to drive any of these speakers without issue.
  7. I'll be writing a review soon, but I'll say that Klipsch did an amazing job with the 280s.
  8. I wasn't supposed to do this on a work night.
  9. Spending some more quality time with my new friends.
  10. I know you didn't ask me, but, RF-7, RF-7ii, and RF-83
  11. NAD makes some nice amps at good prices. I have a couple of them (D 3020 and T758) and they sound great on all the Klipsch I've tried them on: Heresy III, Quartet, RP-280F, RF-7ii.
  12. I hope to get some time to do a review soon. They are both fantastic speakers. ...I also don't know where some reviews are coming from saying that the RF-7ii are bass shy. I am running them with an NAD T758 and there is an incredible amount of bass at low and high volumes. (Not bloated or anything, but just awesome.)
  13. I have tinnitus as well. Just woke up one morning and the ringing started. I find that quick, loud sounds aggravate it the most. Some movies are tough at any sort of exciting level. Music seems to be much easier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Had to try them. I have an addiction...
  15. The icon series is now the reference line. It has that type of horn as well, albeit a bit modified. The RP horn is ~7-7.5 inches vs the RF-7ii's 8 inch. Driver size on the 7 is .75 inches bigger though. But horn size isn't too much bigger... What intrigues me the most is the 1200hz crossover for the horn which is the same as my 19s. To my ears, that presents a wonderful blend. Two 10" woofers is about equal to a 14" driver, so pretty close to the 15" of the 19 as well.
  16. That thicker tone is what I'm curious about. The heritage line has a thicker tone, but the RP is more open. A combo of the two would be awesome.
  17. Curiosity really has the best of me. I wonder how they compare to the RP-280. I love the heritage sound but the openness of the RP. I wonder if the RF-7ii would be a blend of the two. I know they won't compete with my 19s or with a la scala, but that's ok for the room they would go in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I hope you've bolted your seats to the floor and use seat belts!
  19. I'd give it some more time. You said you've spent several hours, but with the amount of money you've spent, they may deserve more time. I doubt you'll be losing any money on them if you decide to sell. Perhaps it is your mind playing tricks on you as you try to focus an extreme amount and are overly tuned to any and all flaws. Are they fun? Is the music enjoyable? Do they have the tone you're looking for? In my main listening room, I just fiddled as I enjoyed the music. Took literally an inch more of toe-in and everything fell into place. Speakers disappear and there is just music. If you have no attachment to them, by all means, place them up on the auction block. Synergy in the system and your emotional reaction to them seem to matter most.
  20. They didn't preview anything that would hint at a replacement at any shows (like CES) that I'm aware of. Seems there are valid reasons in this thread for both replacing and not replacing it. Honestly, it makes me a bit nervous if this is the last of the reference to be made in USA. I don't want to miss my chance at them if a replacement isn't on the way. 21. RP-280s are playing nicely, but I may jump on the 7s if they are going the way of the dodo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
