I’m 64. And no I’m not a troll. I’m not sure why not knowing who Freddy Mercury is or isn’t makes me one. I never intentionally listened to queen ( I now know that is the band he was in) or journey or foreigner for that matter. Just not my cup of tea. Steve Perry’s season tickets for giants games are right next to me and someone had to tell me who he was and why he would lead the stadium sing along for Don’t stop believing.
Fair enough.

I have to admit that I have no idea who Freddie mercury is and quite honestly I’m not sure if I have ever heard his music. Seems like many believe him to be a hero based on their impressions of his talent. That’s enough for me.
Out of curiosity how old are you? Troll? Can't figure out how you managed to not know who Freddie Mercury was....what are you're musical listening habits?

There is a good evaluation on the gain factor of most of the popular NOS and new production tubes. Ill try to track it down. There ARE differences in gain in mos tubes

Love seeing other peoples listening areas. Makes me feel more normal. I always think my listening area is a huge compromise but its nice to see other have to deal with the same problems 😉
Nice Fortes!!!

The Gold Lions are great. I used KT88 and 12at7 in McIntosh MC275 and they sounded great. Had them for a while and never had any go bad...

For the money find a refurbished Marantz SR7012 and call it a day.

I would argue that if having all Klipsch is the priority over everything then go for it. But you can do so much better even at cost prices (talking subwoofers only)...

Im running mine directly off my Marantz SR7012 and after Audyssey setup they sound phenom. With certain poorly mastered songs it can get too revealing but that's not the speakers fault...

Cool, so if I turn this into a political thread it will get deleted???

Lock, freeze, hide, delete this thread. What a waste. Can we get back to talking about Klipsch?!?!

I grabbed a 7012 and absolutely love it for everything. I would recommend looking for a "refurbished" one like I did for a huge savings. You won't regret it.

The way the veneer appears on my Forte III it would be very difficult to repair. Where that damage is would be very noticeable. This would be good as a center in a front three for HT but only behind a screen where you wouldnt see it. My ocd wouldn't allow me to look at that nick every day. Maybe someone else who is a little more laid back could?

Get a Marantz and call it a day. Id recommend the 7011 if you can find it under 1k. I have the 7012 and it is phenomenal and has tons of options for customizing the sound to exactly what YOU like. I have used Pioneer elite in the past and although a great receiver it didnt sound as good to ME. Which at the end of the day is the real point with all these posts. You will have to listen to the receiver in your house with your speakers to see if you will like it or not...All the brands mentioned are excellent choices you just have to figure out which one works best for you.

Great for a hidden center channel to match my stereo pair....

Photo is a little fuzzy. Is that lambswool?

Always at least try a listen with Marantz receivers. They pair extremely nicely with Klipsch speakers

I use a Marantz AVR as the heart of my system. I don’t listen at crazy loud levels. I did incorporate a pair of Marantz monoblocks but to tell you the truth the difference in sound is not discernible to me at all. Glad I bought them though as I will use them eventually in a separate music only system in my den down the road. As was mentioned earlier, want vs need.
My Marantz SR7012 sounds great quiet or loud. For music or movies. Paired with Forte III. I keep deliberating adding a 300-500 watt amp but just don't feel like I'll notice a huge difference. I had a McIntosh MC275 VI that I had to remove due to placement limitations and only noticed a slight loss in the low end but nothing earth shattering...

Last price reduction. $4000 firm plus shipping if not picking up locally (Rocklin,CA 95677) otherwise this baby is going into storage until I move into a house with room for dedicated stereo setup.

I personally prefer the ct120 over the ct125 but both are good replecements

I am size limited due to having to wall mount. I've had a Martin Logan Motion 8 for the last couple of years and love it. I know folded tweeter matched with horns is blasphemy but it works for me. I have Forte III for L and R and everything blends flawlessly with Marantz SR7012 and audysee
