I agree that what crites has is probably better, although I’ve read somewhere that his are just Chinese too, but not sure if I want to use k77 when the dust settles and $100 for crites after shipping is too much just for me to try.

@RandyH So in your eyes the $14 one is as good as any other?
Strange color on the cheap one. -

Thanks Carl. I have the test gear though I just need to learn to use it all. You are welcome to stop in any time you are up this way and that goes for any forum member who wants to stop in. No I won't put you to work I just like sitting down and listening to music and visiting with others. Not many to share the hobby with around here.
Hey Dave,
Did you ever get any training on rew? Minidsp is pretty easy to set up and use but Rew just confused the crap out of me and I never learned how to use it to tweak the dsp settings. ChrisA helped a lot and was very generous with his time, but I didn’t know what I was doing, tapped out and went back to passive. Would love to get dsp and rew going on another project but haven’t decided exactly where I’m going with that.

I just think it hilarious and mind blowing that I’ve barely heard a peep after the first couple days about Henry Ruggs 156mph homicide crash, but I can’t get a way from hearing about that evil, lying Aaron Rodgers! I’m definitely no fan of that arrogant dude, but c’mon him not taking the JAB deserves that much attention?

@pcbizso…any chance of delivery to Tennessee? 😁

@domenic, yep everything has effect on the sound, I thought my Dynaco st-35 sounded better than my mc30s with my Belles. When I switched my ab crossovers out for alk super aa that was an improvement too. Then finally went electronic crossover which was the biggest improvement but with the biggest learning curve. Alk offers a trade in if you send him your aa. The Belle is limited by the k-500, sounds better with k-400 and even better with the volti horn, but obviously doesn’t fit in the Belle hf section. Some guys recommend going 2-way, I’ve never personally heard any .
-
Sold, that was an incredible deal. I mighta bit, but wasn’t up for an 8hr round trip drive.
-
@Heatermanhad some great hf sections for Belles but I think they sold a couple days ago. You can check out Volti but they aren’t cheap.
-
If you have one in good working condition with original box and such for a fair price message me.
Thanks.

Nice speakers at a bargain price. Sellers description led me to believe they had at least some knowledge of Klipsh until they said “ footprint is similar to Belles”.
That’s a statement that only could be made by someone who has never seen Belles….they weigh about the same too.

I bought a pair of these recently for my eventual LaScala rebuild. I know these horns have come up before in various threads, but I don't recall seeing any frequency response graphs of a K55V (push-pin) on the 18 x 10 horn. Perhaps one is buried in a thread somewhere, but here is a measurement that I made this morning.
Two items I wanted to know about the horn was the low-end response, which clearly goes down to 400Hz and how smooth the frequency response was across the midrange band. The 18 x 10 and K55V appear to be a great match. I'm not a horn expert, but the 18 x 10 looks to be an exponential horn.
I have not listened to them yet, but will try and patch together at least one channel to see how they sound.
Are you still using the factory k77?

It seems the only appropriate response is "Shit happens." Once you state an opinion on who's responsible it gets political. {SPOILER ALERT: It ain't whose been mentioned.}
I didn’t give an opinion today or the other day of who was responsible.

I guess the used grocery and gas market is driving up the price of new grocery and gas prices too…inflation is happening when I posted the inflation report the other day it got deleted. I said nothing political only posted the facts. The reports from the other day is that the average additional cost per family is $175 a month.

I graded the pretty conservatively and tried to add notes. Graded jacket/vinyl. Shipping will be $4/$5/$6, but if you buy $50 or more I’ll ship for free. Please don’t make me package and ship a $6 album.
Let’s just say $20 minimum.
Payments must be PayPal and net to me. I prefer f&f. These ship from Tn so if you are out west be prepared for slower shipping.
Thanks.

Yea, that actually was the plan at first and I still may try it, they’re just a bit more imposing in the room sitting up there.
-
I knew these were supposedly built without any cost budget limitation. Still curious about the sound.
Within driving distance for me.
😁😳

I’ve read a little that these sound nothing like any other Klipsch speaker. Whether that be good or bad idk, anybody have personal experience?
-
No sir, just curious what came in his Belles, I’ve seen both depending on when they were built.

Yes Madman1, that would be a pretty steep learning curve for me also since I really have no clue about bi/tri/amp active crossovers. Guess I'll have to study about them. These presently have the Crites upgraded crossovers and I have the originals also. They sound really good to me in the mids but I don't really like music blasted at high volume so I probably don't hear the harshness some speak of with the original midrange horn. Bass is full and clean on these......I kind of have them stuffed into corners which may reinforce the bass some. Thanks for giving me some new possibilities to look into.
Do your Belles have k55v or k55m…
aa or ab crossovers?

Just wandering... if doors to the cabinets could be taken off during the listening and put aside, that could help the spread of the sound in the room and possibly improve the overall music presentation.
The hinges of the cabinet doors probably should be changed but that is a minor inconvenience.
Yes I think that would be a help, but again this isn’t my main setup just something to enjoy in here. I think I may look into a hinge that will allow the doors to open further that could definitely help.

Well, I was hoping to come a while back, then I got smacked with the China/Fauci virus!! Whoops! 😬, I probably shouldn’t say that here I might get canceled.
I want to get up there, I’m sure you have some fun things I need/want.
