  1. My prayers go out to you as well. As some other's have said I know what it's like and it's not easy. Remember the good times, and take the parts of her that you cherished and use them to make you a better person.
  2. Sounds like you already got it and are very satisfied! Glad to hear it, I am also a big fan of Emotiva gear, my XPA gen 3 seems to pair extremely well with my K-horns and paired very well with my La Scala's before that. In fact I was so impressed with the reviews the new XMC-1 got that I may have actually ordered one! Your review of sparkle and amazing sound separation seems to be the general consensus that I have heard when reading reviews about Emotiva amps!
  3. Ya, those definitely stood out to me too, I thought they were absolutely gorgeous when I first saw them. Nice that they are bringing back the Forte's, I really like that they are keeping PWK's legacy alive. I never had the pleasure of hearing the Forte's but I hear they are amazing. I was honestly surprised they didn't bring back the Chorus's! I guess I am a little bias toward the Chorus's because they were my first heritage speaker!
  4. I love them! Still just as pristine as the day I took them home!
  5. Not really but I guess I'll put it at 800 which is less than I paid. Just trying to recoup most of the money I spent on em. As I said in the original post, I do have a truck and can deliver within a reasonable distance.
  6. Ya, when I spoke to the guy on the phone about the McIntosh he was telling me to come down he said he had it set up hooked to some B&W speakers and some velodyne subwoofers said he guarentees I've never heard anything like it. In all honesty I bet it doesn't even sound as good as my Klipschorns. I remember (and I know this was no McIntosh but it was B&W) at bestbuy once when I had first purchased those chorus's the guy was telling me how Klipsch was no good and they are so over rated. He had me come in and try out his top of the line B&W's and honestly I wasn't impressed at all. I personally thought the Chorus's walked all over them with ease.
  7. I know that's a big reason why I wouldn't do it because they are always coming out with new format's and all that. Amazingly the Mcintosh MX151 doesn't even support 4k @60hz and the guy wanted 12,500 for it. The MX160 does but it's 14,000 so then a year later they come out with a new audio format that makes that thing obselete. One thing I have to say though Emotiva has modular inputs on their AVP so they say can be upgraded down the line to accommodate changes in the future. I thought that was extremely cool.
  8. Oh, I'm sure it would but a AVP that cost's 14k now idk if I can justify that kind of money, I mean that's more than I spent on the K-horns. One thing I have to say though when I was talking to the guy at the local dealership he asked what kind of speakers are you trying to run with the Mac and I told him K-horns and he paused for a second and said well those are very efficient you really don't need something this extravagant to push them, but then he of course went on to say how no other AVP will provide me with as much detail and refined sound and all that. I have to say I certainly can't justify spending that kind of money. I think I would be best off like other's have stated to just stick with what I have because honestly it does sound very good to me. Lol I think i'm just looking for a new piece of audio gear to play with to be honest!
  9. Yup lol I just called, the thing costs 14,000 and the amp they would want to pair with it is 8,000 that's absolutely insane! Now in all honesty do you guys really think those things could possibly be worth that much? Is McIntosh really that good?
  10. Ya the problem with that one is it doesnt support 4k
  11. Wow that thing is nice! I wonder how it would pair with my Emotiva. I can't find any options to buy or any pricing though. I bet that thing costs at least 10k..
  12. It's a tile floor with a are arug in the center but the speakers themselves are just on the tile. I have to say though it does sound much better in real life over the video. Even when I play the video back on the speaker's I see a huge difference. Soundstage is much deeper and theres much more detail when listening in real life.
  13. Ya, I've thought of McIntosh myself but again they don't make any multi channel stuff, it's all 2 channel from what I can see. If they made a 5-7.1 AVR I'd buy it in a second!
  14. If you guys could choose any preamp/processor and amp to run my system with money not being an issue what would you guys choose?
  15. Ya, the only problem that I can see though is they don't make anything but 2 channel processors. That's all I can find on their website anyway.
  16. You think that multi channel would be better than the Emotiva I already have? That's one thing that's got me confused here though. When I made a thread about wanting a seperate amp the majority of people here recommended the Emotiva now it seems like they don't really think Emotiva is that good. Also since someone mentioned it Mark Levinson, I didn't even realize they made home audio. Before seeing them in my brother's car I had never even heard of them. My brother just recently bought a Lexus with Mark Levinson audio and it is hands down the best I have ever heard in a car. Better than the 3000 dollar custom system I had in my old car (which was a hyundai sonata) so car acoustics could have played a huge roll which I am sure was the case. Is Mark Levinson known to play well with heritage?
  17. Ya I'd say roughly without measuring it's 7-7 and a half at most.
  18. Seeing that other thread with the guy with the La Scala's gave me a good idea. I took a video of my K-horns playing I'd love to hear everyones opinion. Now drop box is giving me trouble but it may work for you guys and if not you can download the video and it will play fine. Keep in mind this is being recorded from an iPhone not professional mic's. Also it's in 2 channel stereo mode, the La Scala is not playing it's just the K-horns and subs crossed at 40 hz. https://www.dropbox.com/s/l6z4zl6fuka7nqs/Video Jan 03%2C 2 42 37 PM.mov?dl=0
  19. I love the C6 it's absolutely incredible! I got it a couple months ago.
  20. So I take it you guys probably don't think this would be a good match with the K horns? http://emotiva.com/products/pres-and-pros/xmc-1
  21. 88 la Scala's which I still have and use one as my center.
