  1. I have my fathers Forte 1s that I installed crites crossovers in, changed out tweeters to Dave as lmahl tweeters and had the grills covered in beautiful cane. These are my mains. Last year I bought a beater series of heresys and converted those to super hearesys and also revenered them and added cane grills to match my fortes - these are used as rear surrounds.and I also have a klipsch 450ca center Channel speaker
  2. I have heard rumors that new Fortes are possibly going to be introduced at CES - again - just rumors as I have zero insider information about anything.
  3. Hef was 82 when he hooked up with crystal - she was a young 22. Beautiful girl but seeing my friend dating this 82 year old dude was pretty bizarre even for me who had worked with a lot of beautiful women that dated men that could have been the girls grandfathers- and just YUCK
  4. Yes I am very very lucky - 22 years of a very happy marriage. I'm retired but she is the president of the company she works at so life is awesome. Here she is with our two Corgi pups at the Marina that is just down the street from us.
  5. Yes Claude I have a beautiful 10 year younger wife. Last year she bought me the Primaluna Integrated for Christmas and my birthday. I basically never want for anything.
  6. they will blow your mind! I promise!
  7. I did not need anymore output but the 150s have a fuller richer body of sound than the el34s have in my system
  8. It’s funny but back in the 80s there was no internet and so unless you were reading audio magazines you would never know what was really good equipment. I knew of klipsch because my older brother had a pair of Klipshorns so my dad and I went to the closest high end stereo store that carried klipsch. My dad did not have useable corners in his beach house so we did not even listen to those but listened to the other speakers in the heritage lineup and the chorus was part of that listening experience I can’t remember what it was about the Fortes that made us decide on them but we both just loved how they sounded better than others in the line. Remember sound is subjective. Now 34 years later I might like the chorus or lascalas better but on the day we brought home the Fortes we just loved their sound. When my stepmother saw them in her living room she had a hissy fit but my father would have gotten rid of her before his beloved Fortes. Now when I listen to them I think about my dad and he would love that all these years later I’m still rocking out to his Fortes. ps - I loved my dad we were pals that spoke every day and he was one of my biggest supporters and his smile when popping in some Linda Ronstadt into his NAD CD player could light up a room - I miss my mother and father so much.
  9. You are right I won’t be putting the el 34s back in. These kt150s take this amp to another level that I didn’t know even existed
  10. Back in 1986 when my dad and I went to buy his dream speaker system we went to a local high end dealer and listened to a number of klipsch offerings.Even though my father had a large penthouse living room with space for big speakers for some reason the Forte 1s hit the sweet spot for both of us. Not that the full klipsch line at the time didn’t sound fantastic but for some reason the fortes sound just grabbed us. My father was wealthy so he could have afforded Chorus or Cornwalls or Lascalas but for whatever reason we brought the fortes home. He enjoyed them for the next 15 years of his life and listened to them every day and never gave a second thought of upgrading or changing them out. They now reside in my house and fit nicely size wise and sound wise is my smaller sized townhome. I have changed out to Crites crossovers and changed the tweeters to Dave a Lmahls and have a large Hsu sub and now 20 years since my father passed I still enjoy them many hours every day. To my ears they sound fantastic even though they are not larger. Large speakers are needed in large rooms but the Fortes more than fill my house with music.
  11. “Bigger is usually better” - that’s what she said 😂😂😂
  12. Rolled kt150s into my evo 400 - presents from my wife for Christmas 😃
  13. One other comment, when I switched from my McIntosh integrated the biggest thing I noticed with the Primaluna was a deeper depth of sound. When I changed out the 2 preamp tubes to Brimars that sense of depth was enhanced. After a few hours listening today with the 8 KT- 150s I am amazed how much deeper the music sounds. Thanks to my wife and the people at Upscale Audio for adding so much to my listening enjoyment.
  14. I do not think its just the bass that is tighter - the sound seems fuller - richer and much more punchy thru the midrange - highs sound solid and good and that is right out of the box - I am looking forwardt to hear these puppies once they start getting some hours of break-in.
  15. they do generate some heat, for sure!!!! but dang - they sound soooooooo good
  16. So its only been 30 minutes with the KT 150s but WOW WOW WOW --- My wife said it sounded so much richer and fuller and I have to agree -- sounds like a beefier amp - I bought some rubber 3/4 inch spacers and glued some pins in them that match the pins of the cage and the cage now easily clears the KT 150s - I may run it without the cage however because the KT 150s look pretty cool
  17. That is a Schiit Loki graphic equalizer I use for some of my vinyl that needs some frequencies adjusted on occasion
  18. Wife bought me 8 Cryo treated KT - 150s to roll into my Primaluna EVO 400 integrated amp. Besides changing out my two center preamp tubes to Brimars I had never tubed rolled before and now I am going to try the KT - 150s to replace my EL - 34s that came with the PL - hoping I like the experiment.
  19. Thanks Full Range for all the information and hope to order one later this week! Cheers Mate!
  20. Thanks Schu for the information on the Puffin - its my birthday Saturday I think it may be my bday gift to myself - sounds fun
  21. Has anyone used a Puffin phono preamp? Is so - thoughts and impressions would be appreciated as it just caught my eye and has a few features that intrigue me. My Primaluna Integrated does not have a way to adjust channel balance but the Puffin has that capability and id like to move the balance just a smidge as I have an L couch shape that blocks one of my speakers a little.
  22. Thanks for sharing this wow I enjoyed it all so much
  23. Classic - you klipsch fanatics crack me up lol
