  1. I gave my old Cerwin Vega 380 SEs to my nephew a few years ago. To me the crossovers sound out of spec. Here is a picture of one of the Crossovers out of one of the speakers. Can anyone help me identify the capacitor types and values in this picture so we can replace them to bring them back to spec? Thanks in advance for any help any of you can provide?
  2. Kristie was great on Cheers! A very talented and beautiful woman! RIP! Kristie
  3. The pl uses the power tubes and sounds great using the tubes of the evo
  4. The evo 300 in ht mode uses the amp section of the PL only and not the AVRs amp section but instead the AVRs preamp is used not the PL.
  5. I think until you hear an amp playing thru your Fortes IVs it will be hard to decide which you prefer long term. I liked my EVO400 with the EL34s but when I rolled in the KT150s it transformed the sounds much and I prefer the sound of the KT150s very much over the EL34s. Having a tube amp is fun!
  6. The dacs in the node 2 are good but I think the music sounds better using my Pontus DAC.. the Node is a very nice sounding streamer
  7. Sorry about losing your friend.
  8. It is so sad to see her go. Her music brought me so much joy over the years! I am trying to see everyone I can while they are still touring and alive!
  9. My Forte IVs are powered by a Primaluna EVO400 running KT150 tubes and I love the overall sound of this setup. I also have a REL S812 sub and to my ears it’s the best system I have ever heard in any of my friends homes.
  10. I was usingg an app on my Ipad to measure volume but decided to buy an SPL meter on Amazon. My Ipad app was pretty far off and I now realize I listen to most music at closer to 70 DBs plus or minus 5-10 DBs early morning/late night listening 60 DBs is perfection - dynamics superb
  11. I also found that 10-12 inches off the back wall with no toe in gives the best imaging from my Forte IVs. The Forte IVs have great bass but my setup adds a Rel s812 and this combo blows my mind. Having that lower octave along with the Fortes mid bass is just so dynamic that midrange is effortless and sounds fantastic.
  12. My Forte IVs sound good with all genres of music but listening to Carol King and James Taylor live at the Troubadour fills my soul. It’s like they are here in my house giving me a private concert. When music sounds this great it makes the investment in Klipsch worth every penny and more. These two harmonize like few others and show off the synergy of the system. Klipsch and tubes seem to share a special harmony. So drawn in! 🥳
  13. Yes shakes photography is one of my loves.
  14. I agree 100% with this. We can differ on much in life but music brings us together if it’s at 50 DBs or 100 DBs. Music is one of my greatest passions.
  15. Claude is a funny guy, very talented pro photographer and knows more about speakers than most people will ever know.
  16. Some people just love to argue on the Internet. I don't care how loud other people listen to music in their home. I was just curious to know how loud most Klipsch Forum participants liked to play their music. Now I know that many like very loud and of course thats cool. Whatever floats your boat! I find myself in the other camp of people that prefer music mostly below 90 DBs at my listening location. Seeing how loud people like listening helps me know where people are coming from on this Forum.
  17. I always try and bring ear plugs to concerts just in case the music is “too damn loud” as Claude would say. I saw The Who 2 weeks ago and they didnt play too loud but the opening act wasn’t that good and I was glad I had the plugs as they played far too loud for my enjoyment. Crappy music doesn’t sound better by just going louder.
  18. My mother in law is almost deaf from not wearing ear protection. This isn't some B$ I have read but if you can listen at 100 DBs for hours upon hours without any hearing damage more power to you. me? I am not willing to take that chance because I don't feel the need to listen that loud. Blast away and enjoy.
