My brother, (RIP), actually did something similar while looking for a well casing in my other brother’s (RIP) property. Me and my father (RIP) were the only other ones to witness it, and since I was the shovel guy and due to all of the RIP’s, you’ll just have to believe me.

2. My wife deleted, apparently, voicemails from her recently deceased mother.  Is there a way to recover them from the memory card in her Samsung Galaxy phone?  There were references by Edgar and Marvel, in a 2013 thread about a Speakerlab SK build, to Recovery Card.

Any suggestions are welcomed.  It would mean a lot to me to enable my wife to hear her mother’s voicemail messages.

I have no specific experience with that phone, but I would say the answer is “possibly”.

The chances decrease if the phone is powered on / used at all.
3. Agreed, error correction does not degrade audio quality and it is indeed perfect.

Some algorithms may try to fail gracefully by substituting an estimated or interpolated sample in the event of a non-correctable error, but this feature, if it exists, is beyond the error correction phase and is outside the scope of “correction”.

Disco was a very rapid passage in time , from  75 to 78-79 tops   - in NYC  it was called Funk  between 74-78------as of 79  , Disco   became New-Wave /House etc  -

It should have just been called "awful".

Also, way way too much hair in those photos.

40 ft and loud is surprising to me that it keeps up.  Good deal.

I set it up at the edge of a 100-car parking lot and had two La Scalas and the THTLP going pretty good, and there was adequate bass over the entire lot.  @MookieStl is going to have 4 La Scalas and the THTLP going, so it might be a different story.  Can't wait to see!

BTW, I offered him my two La Scalas so he'd have six and he thought 4 was enough, lol.

I'm going to have all four of mine up and running "down by the river" this weekend!

I just loaded my rolling party. Pallets for a bonfire (for starters) and 4 LSI, a couple crown amps in the cab, maybe a cocktail or two in there somewhere as well. What is that strange tall object? A number of jerks (see above) on this forum keep saying "LS need a sub, a big sub", so I am giving it a try.

Thanks @codewritinfool

Full report in a few days.

Lookin' great!  I hope to hear this whole setup when you get back.

If it is in the lot and we have social distancing, maybe @JustAuBy and @Hornographic and @mw772could come hear it too?

Maybe the original deal fell through (high bid was $2650 I believe) or looks like they may have more than one set, look at the open roll up door in the background of the one picture, I see another set there and god knows what else they have in there.

Second chance to those who slept on the last set.  You know about what they'll sell for....

They do have more.  This one is a true relist.

8. I’ve said this before, but I guess I need to try it.

One of my computers has an optical input. I intend to couple the optical out of a streaming computer to the optical in of that computer and record a snippet of a “high-res” stream. Then I can look at the spectral content of that recording.

My guess is that most of the “high-res” songs are CD rips.

I will post results here if I ever try it.
