Harmon Kardon 430 and KG4's -- Wow !!
No Disc replied to Chris Robinson's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Chris, Really glad you like the Kg4s. They are a true bargin speaker. So much for so little. Those kg4s with a nice tube amp really make nice music and the passive really helps the speaker get down low. I feel the speaker really comes alive on stands, so hopefully you are using the stands you got from me. Hopefully your soon to be teenage daughter will see her new speakers in July, but perhaps daddy might like them too much... heh. Enjoy! Tim -
Ask me again after the holiday weekend. Perhaps I will still have them for you at that price. Tim

Not my Cornwalls... heh. Audio Consultatants in Evanston Illinois has a pair of 1983 Walnut Corwalls for $595 I purchased my Cornwalls from them a few years ago. They offer a 90 day warranty and all there used stuff is usually in primo condition. http://www.audioconsultants.com/used.html Saturday Audio Exchange, also in Evanston, has a Jolida 102b for $399. This is sweet little tube integrated that would a nice starter amp/preamp for someone. http://www.saturdayaudio.com/ Tim

Purchased new 8/17/02 at authorized Klispch retail authorized dealer. Have original boxes and packing materials. Speakers come with Mapleshade bi-wire jumpers which I added on this year. Very clean condition. Only used with Wright Sound SET amps, never driven hard. Prefer pickup ( Chicagoland ) but will ship $400 + shipping

Cornwalls at the Lone Star Bottlehead's meet in Austin

The ole Ping Pong Paddle mod... a classic. This aids in the collimation of the sound wave pattern and directs the acoustical propagation front. I thought everyone knew that? -
Max, I'm glad this is working out for you. I almost went this route, but could not find a DVD player that I liked the sound of. They all lacked depth, had poor transparancy, and were too forward in their presentation. Probably for the best anyway, I don't have the time to dupe all my LPs to DVD anyway. Have fun.

That's a nice looking Station Wagon...

I like the Disk Doctor brushes, which can be described as a fine black velvet like material. The 2nd best brush I like is the Red Lint brushes you can buy cheap. I cut off the handle, soak a bit to get out some of the Red dye, and away I clean. Makes a great brush. I have not tried the Nitty Gritty brushes so I cannot compare. I have no reason to look further as I have found the recipe that works for me.

I only dust my RB-5s, does anyone with Reference line do any other cleaning or protection to their RF or RB speakers to keep them looking new? TIA Tim

If you want standard bases contact Klipsch. They might be able to help you. You can also try an ad on Audiogon.com Good luck.

I'm having great success with my VPI 16.5, Record Research Labs Vinyl Wash, and Disk Doctor brushes. How does the spin clean system keep the label from getting wet? Is there any residue on the Stylus after playing with the spin clean? The combo I am using there is hardly NOTHING on the Stylus after playing a properly cleaned record.

What does the speaker breakout cable look like?

Interesting. Looks like a great way to pump audio from your computer though your high-end speakers. I wonder what class "T" is though.
