  1. Something like this should work! Lots of other choices on their site also. https://www.parts-express.com/lepai-lp-168ha-21-2x40w-mini-amplifier-1x68w-sub-output--310-308
  2. I pisses me off that in the 70s domes were pushed hard and I mostly bought in even after hearing a set of altec model 19s at oasis audio in henderson ky as a teen. I was 17 and used a buddies new trans am as a way of making the salesman think I was a spoiled little rich kid so he would waste more time showing me the expensive equipment. It worked and after hearing the 19s always wanted a pair as I got older. It sounded great and if I can figure out were to put them want to have some cabinets built and go from there. I have two pair of altec horns already. His remark in the video about cars makes sense, I do think with horns its harder on the ears if you don't have a great room and by being more dynamic can cause ear fatigue easier and sometimes eq is needed and the reasons tube and vintage gear is often used is because they tend to be less bright and pull the intensity back a fuzz. Like turning back using eq without having to admit you use one😁
  3. I use the 12 gauge kord speaker wire. Very good stuff! Also very flexible. All my interconnects are from them also. Great quality and built very well. As good as I need.
  4. I have a wired pair of m40s that I love also. Not as much bass but sound great. Glad you like yours.
  5. I have had a pair for over a month and for blue tooth at 200 bucks they sound great! I use them when traveling, camping or just laying around. Bass is very good mids are perfect. I love the highs also but did read a few reviews that thought they were alittle on the light side but I disagree. I have older ears so your millage may vary. If your looking for some bt phones for casual listening these are the ticket. Very enjoyable! Reviewers love the sq but fuss little about some other things. Check out a review if your curious about them. Is anyone else using these? I just got home from midnights so if I'm not making much sense I'm sorry. 😎.
  6. I was thinking small at first but it really does not matter. I have plenty of room for a reciever and im a dinosaur as I still want a tuner. They have the 803 for 499 dollars at accesories4less. May pull the trigger.
  7. Im more worried about electronics now but will keep the speakers in mind. Thanks!
  8. I do not want a soundbar. This will be more for music.
  9. Also if you dont like the loki I will buy it from you! Want another anyway😎
  10. Just wanting something for a bedroom system. Was thinking small one peice do it all kind if thing. PS sprout 100 was on the list and some still undecided small 2 ways. The more I read the more confused I get. Just looked at a reveiw on a Yamaha R-N 803. Looks promising. Anyone using one? Would be using for tv sound and spotify mostly at night.
  11. Buy a schiit loki 4 band eq. My rp280f speakers had too much on the treble and mid side of things for my crappy room. Thought I could not live with these bright sounding speakers.Headach and fatigue were killer. Enter Schiit Loki. Pulled 8000 and 2000hz range back abit and added a fuzz on bottom and they sound perfect to my crusty old 55 year old πŸ‘‚s! Listening to Deep Purple at the moment with a big cup of joe and the dog on my lap. Perfect start to the day.
  12. The ta-100 has a built in dac and alot of other things. You can add bluetooth very cheaply and it has balance and bass and treble for crappy rooms. Lots of inputs and a phono stage. For the money hard to beat!
  13. I have a pt-100. This is a ta-100. Its is like pt but has a built in 50 watt amp. Very nice for money with lots of inputs. Check out their site for specs.
  14. I would try spotify out. Sounds pretty good to great to these 55 year old ears and has so much different music its crazy. If I hear it and love it I buy it on cd or album. Yes I'm old and said album πŸ˜‚. I have been looking at the amp you have on some reviews the past few weeks and it looks so nice! I just returned to having music that sounds good at home a few years ago and I'm so glad its back!
  15. I wonder if ear wax would work better? I have about a 10 ft tallpile of earwax in the back yard?
  16. I am! Whats wrong? Do you got wax in your eyes!😎
  17. This is kind of gross but can make your system sound better. I saw a guy talking about wax in his ears from wearing ear plugs in another post but it can happen to others also. Get your ears cleaned out at the doctor once a year or so. After I go I can hear so much better! I just hope this post doesn't make anyone throw up!
  18. Thats why you need some type of eq.
  19. When I say here I don't mean me. It seems like when these are mentioned by someone people usually try sway them to a different model. Im sure there are much better out there but I love mine.
  20. I use rp280f speakers and love them for two channel. Not much love for them here. I use a loki eq to fine tune. Fortes better I guess but try the 280s first.
  21. I use the loki on my rp280f. Works great! Better than speaker mods in my opinion because it works with any speaker you put inline. They should include a loki in the box with klipsch speakers when they arrive.
  22. Here you go for the best offered today antenna wise https://innovantennas.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=category&virtuemart_category_id=26&Itemid=206&lang=en The longer the boom and the more elements the gain is higher. Yagi antennas don't add gain they just focus it in one direction mainly. Think of it like a adjustable flash light beam. The bigger the antenna the tighter the beam. I have a large yagi here but its not for fm. If the stations you want are not on the fringe out 100 miles plus a smaller beam may be fine giving you a wider slice but not as much distance. If wanting to hear way out getting every station you can get the biggest you can keep up. I have a 60 ft freestanding tower with a 26 ft yagi I use for 2 way. Ive talked over 15000 miles! I just use the vhf side of my tv antenna and it works pretty well out 60 or so miles most of the time. An omni antenna picks up in all directions or at least a clover leaf pattern. Im talking an antenna like this. http://www.teamelectronix.com/store/p27/Outdoor_Fm_Antenna_FMSS.html
  23. All I know is when I turn on my eq and set it to what my ears like I enjoy the sound better. I don't have a 10,000 dollar system so it may be limitations on my system but I listen for enjoyment but I also know the hobby is different for all of us. Peace and have a great day!
