  1. I agree with dirtmudd in using non ethanol fuel, but I suspect that by stating you do use the expensive premixed fuel you are referencing a product like TruFuel which is 100% gasoline. Again I agree with dirtmudd and hit it with some carb cleaner and replace the old fuel with new if it has been a long time since it has been started, Pull of the fuel line and blow into it and listen for bubbling in the tank. Possibly a small crack in the bulb and it actually is not priming.
  2. Glad to hear of the "non-event" status. I was thinking of you.
  3. Very nice article about a great event.

    RIP Batman

RIP Batman. He was an incredible tongue in cheek comedian. He did it with a straight face. I was 4 years old when the series started. It has been a part of almost my entire life.
  8. very entertaining.

I am a total wagon Geek. 1971 Buick Estate Wagon I purchased it to be a tow rig, I thought it pulling my other Buicks on an open trailer would be cool plus it is a beast. 455, Turbo 400, Posi, 9 leaf springs in the rear. The clam shell wagon is cool and can swallow entire 4'x8' sheets of plywood It came out of Lubbock, TX, zero rust but the paint on ever horizontal surface is baked.

You will be the first person I call when I get to that point. Ironically i kind of made an offer on a Hellcat 2 weeks ago. We were at the dealership getting my Mom a new car, the same preowned Hellcat that was sitting in the same spot in the showroom since last August when I bought my scat pack my salesman mentioned how they would really love to move it. I shot out a quick figure to him. If he would have jumped up and headed to the Managesr office I may have had to tackle him, except it would have been a heck of a deal. It was a loaded Torr Red, black hood but had an auto. I am still a stick guy even though I know great the 8spd auto is in these cars cars. If it would have been B5 with a stick, who knows...I can not change colors now or I would have to get a new license plate.

I was just referring to pics posted. I would not leave out Richieb, we both have late model Scat Pack cars in our stable and I am very interested in his procharger ideas. I also agree with M_Klipsch that 465 to 485hp is a nice number for a daily driver and can still get you into trouble. This is an incredible time for performance cars and I highly recommend to everyone, don't miss out on this era if you can.

Yes there is a bunch of us car guys here. The Hot Rod Magazine power tour will be in Indy on Thursday and the SVRA at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Fri - Sun is my schedule this weekend. I am looking forward to a well diverse bunch of vehicles over the next few days.
  15. I only have one name for that era of roughness. Bill Laimbeer Jr
  16. Nicky carried The flag of the United States of America proudly in his victories.
  17. I just heard of his accident today when I saw the death notice. The Kentucky Kid RIP
  18. I did not hear this on the news this morning. West 16th Street is not the best part, nor the worst part of Indy. At 9:40 pm it has only been dark for 30 minutes or so. Everyone needs to be aware of your surroundings I was in South Chicago using the restroom at a Popeye's Chicken last week, the door would not lock and the restroom was isolated from the dining area by a corridor. I was well aware that I had not made a very good decision, Luckily there were no problems.
  19. I agree, We walked the 5 blocks from the hotel to Wrigley through the Boystown neighborhhod and went to Casey Morans right after the game. I am very old school, I didn't want them to put lights up at Wrigley, but I understand. I have been a Reds fan since 1970. Indy used to be the AAA farm club for the Reds when I was a kid.
  20. Bottom of the first Cubs v Reds. A grand slam by Javier Baez , I am a Reds fan but I can still appreciate watching a great team even though they beat us up pretty good (9 to 5) and swept the series. It was 81 degrees with 22MPH sustained winds blowing straight out center field. A great day at the ballpark in a cool city.
  21. I have not seen that show but I do like Ray, I will look for it. This vid does a better job showcasing the event.
  22. Come June 7-11 or June 14-18 to Indy for the SVRA Vintage racing. There will be a couple of those screaming F1 cars there. Plus, when is the last time you heard an Offy or the Turbine. late 1960's SCCA Trans Am cars and a whole bunch of everything. There are so many cars at this event they had to break it up into two separate events. https://svra.com/events/2017-open-wheel-world-challenge/ https://svra.com/events/2017-brickyard-vintage-racing-invitational/
  23. Come back some time in the summer and I will give you and Christy the tour of the city.
  24. Rats, I can not get off work tomorrow, I always go at least to fast Friday, but I am going to Chicago Thursday to see the Reds v. Cubs and not sure when I will be back Friday. Happy hour is not quite the same since Daylight Saving Time. They need to shutdown the track at 7pm now. Do not forget the Mecum auction is in town. Indy is a busy place right now. Plus a bunch of great concerts this entire month of May as well
