  1. Love Pain Perdu, never had it as dessert with Nutella and whipped Cream!
  2. Except for the beets and the fava beans that remind me of a scary movie character I agree!
  3. Found another rainy day song, don't have enough to cover them all here the last couple of years. The mastering is a giveaway that this was made when I was five, but it sounds ok.
  4. Dang Billy you're old like me. That passed away quietly sometime in the early 000s
  5. It wasn't the Pistachio, Pistachio was it? Rough, busy week around here. When I was leaving the oj area of the store the other day I walked through the ice cream aisle. Ben & Jerrys was two for $6! So 2 for 6, 3 for 9 that's the only time I buy it. Since bryers isn't milk, cream, flavor, sugar anymore I get the B&J a few times a year. Chunky Monkey and Cherry Garcia for the next week or so around here after dinner, those were my two original favorites of theirs. S'mores was pretty good, tried that last year.

    The Other Discs

Very limited in my "softer" music collection, don't have that but thanks. I'll look it up on youtube and bookmark it maybe. Playback on my pc is very good since I put the Polks up high and in the corners. The 60 or whatever watts class d helps too. They're small bookshelfs but 13" deep 94 db sensitivity and dig into the low 40hz range and I'd swear they matched up well in a few aspects with my old Heresy IIs.
  7. A few more to clean tomorrow & the six or seven CSN & CSNY then I'm done with this installment from down south. That Hoslt?, I can see why I've seen it mentioned here several times at the forums. Interesting passages the LP is fairly good I can hear some noise in the quiet parts of side two, but no complaints at all. Last time I heard the 1812 it was on my H2s. They did bass with more impact at any volume than the Fortes do. Fortes and the sub make the bass so much more deep and realistic though. Elijah Craig taste, beer budget! Had the sub crossed over at 40 hz raised it to 42 and wow the bassoons and lowest brass came to life. The KC? wow there is a total different tint to the cover color from the reprint that I have. The face is a little different too. The copy I do have plays without a flaw. After cleaning , believe I'll have to tell my brother that he could get some coin out of it, the CSN too if it is clean as they look!
  8. If your rig is up to it this it is a really nice recording!
  9. Yes it did for about 24 hours, couldn't take aspirin (thins the blood) couldn't drink... would harm the gums. Lucky it was on a Thursday night instead of the weekend!! Got replacements the next day.

Earl Klugh is mesmerizing in person for me... just the one time. Like his duos with Bob James too!
  11. I needed two incisors back in the late 80s (don't ask) I've always been around 5'8" 150# with an extra *ocky attitude when I used to get lit. That led to a lot of black eyes, busted lips and bruises. ** For me too. The specialist dentist told me they would last five years tops. It hurt, the root canals and all but the posts and their porcelain are in there forever I'm sure! Can you talk like a pirate? That expression looks like your going Arrrrrrr! Good Luck
  12. Rock-On Brian!!
  13. Until Friday all I had was the one LP and a cassette with Burn then Fireball on the other side! Fate has thrown me a lot of screwballs but it smiled on me a few times too.
  14. Downloaded from a website when I got tired of not finding a bangs-head smiley in this forum. A certain person I interact with here drove me to them. I'd make them half sized except I'd lose the .gif properties. I'll pm the lot to you.
  15. @MicroMara and anyone else that isn't aware: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Leonid+%26+Friends If you've ever liked Chicago, you'll love these Ruskies!! Is it the outrageous (well it was then) face make-up or the reptiles How about these guys? I've always thought I had a first pressing of Machine Head, maybe I do. This new to me one is more lightweight vinyl same 1972 everywhere but it has a take out lyrics poster in it. Their first seven plus a live one their second release I have was printed in Germany.
  16. Yep @Dave1290 Only saw him once..... and knew that night that I'd f'd up not shelling out for the other times he was anywhere within 250 miles of here! Taking care of things this morning and have a little guitar funkiness going on, this one is like new! Up Next? Got "Under My Wheels" on vinyl after all of these years. That LP is my favorite Alice. Cowboy "Why Quit When You're Losin' " has credits for Duane & Chuck on the back. It's a Capricorn release also!

    XFL Football thread

Don't have a team to follow, haven't seen a whole game yet. Saw DCs team?? put up a lot of tds a few weeks ago. Players required to respect our country. ✔️ Required to be clean of felonies or something like that. ✔️ If they played here I would buy tickets, saw our USFL stomp a few teams a couple decades ago at our Shrine Bowl stadium. Ted Nugent and Jimmy Buffett played there JB for only a couple of minutes though.
  18. Alrighty @MicroMara, did get to listen to Gregory Porter the other night. Got that "Nat & Me" bookmarked and that voice of his is pure velvety smooth! Does he always have that cap thing on in every picture of him? So my brother dropped in for a couple of days, time to fire up the ultrasonic again! He's going to make a larger hand-off happen he says "soon" Those crates won't fit in his Corolla with the twelve and "close to eight" year olds with him. Brought some more Cs plus Crimsons first... a first pressing in good shape. Here's an inkling of what I'll be enjoying soon. Chester & Lester?? = Atkins & Paul
  19. @oldtimer & @BigStewMan You two and the pickets Reminds me of the twisted Deadpool movie when he's chatting up that gorgeous gal about where they lived! Had company for a day or so and geeze over 200 "E"s probably 100 from the forums.

That is a bunch of cds @Mighty Favog, not much filler. Just the one bust!
  21. Made by the Man himself. And looks like they're ready for a finish of your choice!
  22. So imagine... It is possible. "There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimesion as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is in the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone."

    The Other Discs

That goes back to the early 80s for me with a certain group that I hung out with for a few years until I had to get sober! 808State was the one I remember being a heavyweight besides the regulars Cure, Depeche Mode, the The, Violent Femes & twenty more.
  24. Really now. I'd never even heard of them until this thread.... and I thought it was your fault! Then they did two or three nights up in Asheville this past fall. In my foot-stompin, bedpole breaking years I would have been up there in two hours flat and found someone I could have got some sold-out tickets from. Claypool & Lennon both have to be a little eccentric from the sound of their music. Geeze if I'm not mired in a power chord heavy metal mood it's just gravy on top of my day!
  25. What I notice about the Don is that he tends to make a pep rally type speech towards situations. If you're listening for something to chide someone over all the time you can miss some of the messaging. Medical people there had already said it's inevitable. True that positivity can help in many situations, I'll listen to my brain and "gut" prep somewhat and get some canned protein stuff also. Thinking why not get more of the canned stuff that I keep here anyhow, the cupboard does have some empty spaces for a while now. Half a freezer full of frozen veggies is good for now, need to get some Pict-Sweet Turnip Greens before they disappear `till next year.
