  1. And or out of phase, crossed over too high or too much boundary reinforcement.
  2. I like to listen at the threshold of hearing so that I can hear all of the fine detail. 15k McIntosh amps for background music is my style.
  3. Sounds defensive? Don't know how... You think someone buys an amplifier based on a calculator on crowns website for hifI? Hahahahaaha. I can do math as well, relax.
  4. No. I can get by with 5 watts or less, I'm aware. I made a purchase solely because captain was kind enough to offer his services to the community. Decided to buy an amp that would power any speakers now or in the future if you must know. I'm just participating in the thread is all.
  5. I wasnt being serious friend... Headroom with no distortion. Actually, would be louder than 110. Speakers are 104 dB efficiency in free space. They are corner loaded. Should add 6 dB for the pair. Now that's rocking...
  6. Yes! That's the volume I regularly listen at.
  7. Looks like I ordered the right size tube amp after all
  8. I will do it when I get some time next week. No music listening for a few days.
  9. Read what you said about what type of music you often listen and that you aren't lacking bass and so on and so forth. I'll put it this way... My JBL 4722N speakers do 40 Hz +/- 3 dB in free space. They are currently corner loaded, obviously in a room... My subs are crossed at 40 hz. As soon as they come on with ANY music or movie, they are almost always called upon and appreciated. They add to the experience and one would never know subs were on with a blindfold unless I turned them up... Which is easy to do...
  10. You absolutely should. I'll warn you, don't hear it until you are ready to buy. You will have to have one if you hear it blended well with someone that has a clue. If you can pick the sub out easily and it isn't blended, that person did not implement it well.... It can be subtle until calls upon at which point it can head towards violent if you like and bring enough power...
  11. May work well for rugged direct radiators, bad idea for horn loaded woofers with minimal excursion and a short horn. It won't work, I'm sure
  12. No point, don't do it. It will add nothing to the music as you want it. Extremely low distortion and transient response. Won't extend anything without sacrifices at any volume. Don't.
  13. Welcome to California. It's a little cold right now, I know 😉.
  14. Another great idea for a thread. You are on a roll.
  15. Understood. But to be clear, what I meant specifically was that a La scala's bass cannot be as deep as a Cornwalls... It may be satisfying and just right though, yes
  16. I find that hard to believe.... Does none else have that same point of view?
  17. Psi trance, love it. If you like this, you will love infected mushroom and cosmic tone. Tight, thumping kicks and high tempo with crazy spatial cues. Not just your subs get tested. I have this track on one of my mixes. When I played it through my class A plinius, INCREDIBLE sounds came out. A true eargasm of sort for this genre of music.
