  1. You oughta try it in a semi. That clutch starts getting heavy after a few hundred "creep 5 ft" and stop.
  2. I'm not on the road much at all any more. I might drive the Olds around town [Arivaca] once a week. Just to charge the battery. Go to the dump and cruise by the coffee shop/roaster That cross country run, last year, was a rush. Going from driving a car once in a while to biting off 2000 mile each way. And trying to NOT do it in 30 hrs.Spose I could have slowed myself down by employing a bell hop's assistance with my "luggage" and setting the stereo up in the room. HaHaHa
  3. can't disagree. My buddy used to drive from Baltimore to DC every day. I know why he worked from 4AM to ... I'm quite happy dealing with a cow or two in the road for traffic. I have experienced "gridlock" Arivaca style.... The cows had the main road blocked thru town as they were moving from one area to another. No cowboys prompting/urging them. Open range. If you don't want them on your property, you are allowed to build a fence ... w/o permitting
  4. you would love Atlanta.80mph in the rain. Never again. After much consideration I think I have decided what I want to do for a sub. Passive tapped horn. I am assuming some things. Matching efficiency/sensitivity is the big deal to coupling it/them to the LS, yes? I expect it will be out of my price range. And may not fit in this room. It's only 300 sq/ft and long/narrow. 12 X 25ft. I have the speakers on the long wall about 12 feet apart. better keep saving. And spend for it before the wife retires. My SSI goes into the "Oh crap!!!" account. When things happen, that account gets tapped.

    Pepper variety?

Yep This plant goes dormant and comes back. I'm always surprised. I never water it. It does catch runoff from the roof and is in a protected area. Shaded from the sun most of the day. If you want some seeds, let me know. They will produce indoors. With sufficient vibration [here's your excuse to get loud] they self pollinate. Not sure about your weather.... We get enough cold to grow apples. But [this is a biggie], it never freezes for long periods of time. 4 or 5 hours at a time. Long enough and cold enough to freeze exposed pipes. Thawed by 10AM...

    Pepper variety?

Certainly not PeterPeppers Seems that the Thai peppers I have seen were along the line of Serrano looks. Long/skinny. . Agree on them being edible, unless you are put off by heat. by the by my chile piquin [bird pepper] came up again. It's a volunteer. Came up a few years ago. 3 things get it. Grasshoppers, spider mites and cold. Mites aren't a problem outdoors. Tepins grow wild in the hill around town
  7. I have enough "hooks" rattling around in my head. Please to not introduce/instigated more... please?! I see we have French's mustard ice cream now. ... and along comes OscarMeyer with hot dog ice cream. Would make a reasonable ice cream sandwich. 86 the ice cream... not coffee, cables, cocktails or cannabis... though, I think the later may have a part in the idea of hot dog and mustard ice cream....
  8. sure glad we don't need that stuff. Not sposed to make 90` today. Humidity IS up. 60% and it's cloudy. Almost hazy.
  9. the show I went to, was just plain ol' fun. glad you enjoyed it. Age doesn't treat some performers so nice. watched a little of the 40th Anniversary ELP concert. Had to turn it off and be happy remembering them in their prime.
  10. the one forecaster talks about 94` being the magic temp to think about t-storms went for a drink of coffee I guess PeeWee thought her toy wasn't lively enough or needed a drink..... one stuffed mouse toy in my coffee cup. Thank you kitty... nothing wrong with her ... she's just crazy
  11. If I had a truck.... and a larger room/house.
  12. Our local forecasters know better than the computer models and will tell folks, it ain't gonna happen. One would think the computer whizzes could fix this. It's almost a joke around here. Our storms are air mass type. No fronts to provide lift. We NEED sun heating to create thermals. Once they get going, outflow winds kinda keep things going.
  13. Boric acid is good, too. I forgot about it. Yesterday's dire prediction for rain worked as I thought. We got drizzle. No flooding or even a threat. One would think the computer models would be adjusted to correct this. We've met our chance for rain today. Just got a little shower. I stand by my method. When the forecasters call for 20 - 30% chance... batten down the hatches. Over 40% is gonna be muggy, warm and cloudy. Slim chance of significant rain. gotta try to get the wife moving very soon. She needs to go to Tucson for her CDL drug test. @Ceptorman, she's the substitute bus driver in addition to teaching and chief administrator. There is another teacher and 2 aids. One of the aids is the primary bus driver. And Christina. The admin assistant/secretary... I love this lady. She gets things done. The admin people on Tucson and Phoenix are afraid of her. East coast gal. A professional chef, in another life and runs the admin like her kitchen. She talks in no uncertain terms.
  14. with a tape out, I would need to control the volume at the sub. Should be a fixed level out and level controlled at the recording device
  15. Mine teaches K - 4. Her school defies the normal teacher to student ratio. I guess they have 1 teacher per 10 students.... and this is a public school. it's all the paperwork that gets her. I promise to curb my rant here/now...
  16. we have grand/s. I try to keep things on the safer side. We have enough fun stuff, black widows, scorpions, centipedes, rattlesnakes and don't forget that all vegetation has its protective measures. If it doesn't have thorns, it's most likely poison. Wife's first day back. Told me to wake her at 6. She wanted to be there before 7.... Yeah, right 6AM... "Honey, it's 6" then "Honey, it's 6:30" same at 7 She crawled out at 7 o'clock plus. Coffee was cold by then Good thing, all she is doing is getting ready for the kids to come Friday. Sposed to rain. Gave a flash flood watch last night, for today. And then, it is sposed to be wet again tomorrow. 70%. I bet that if it does rain, it will be drizzle. If we get too much humidity/clouds, we don't get the heating/ lift to make storms...
  17. yep that's pretty much the arrangement on my junk sub. It has speaker outs also. It is OK with the R15M [10in @125W].... Need a little more arse to keep up with the LS. me too ... for the time being. It's not a NEED. Just a want. Wife said I need a hobby. HaHaHa
  18. Don't have one [for the LS] yet. Looking at options. A sub with high level inputs would simplify things.
  19. glad you solved your problem. I still need a dongle for speaker out to line, unless I can use the headphone out. I have a tape out... but
  20. some penalty.... $3/offense. They can write that off as the cost of running business. along that same line I keep getting junk call offering reduced interest on my credit cards. I tell them I already have zero interest from the bank. They have zero interest in giving me a credit card. Poor bugger that steals my ID. It will be like "The Ransom of Red Chief".... Pay me to take it back.

    What I Got Today!

Nice find. I bet it was garaged, too. I have an '89 Olds. No rust. No paint either.
  22. I do have a semi fix for my problem. MWMs, if I care to do some building.
  23. That IS a good question. I want to say they would have to be isolated from ea other...seems speaker impedance would change drastically otherwise.. to be sure, there is a way I was working on pinsetter machines that were 60 years old... We retrofitted computer scoring and electronic triggering to them.
  24. thanks I thought I was going nuts. ... I have a junk sub with l/r speaker in and out. Thought the high end stuff would be similar. HaHaHa If you afford a nice system, you can afford ..... No accounting for vintage amps/receivers.
  25. I'll be watching. I'm faced with a similar situation. I would like to add a sub to my system and all I have to work with is a pair of speaker outs, no sub out...
