Guess someday I'm gonna have to start going thru album jackets. Was always my favorite place to stash things for safe keeping. Finally got the tree and decorations up yesterday. Sincerely hope everyone has a very enjoyable Christmas. It's going down whether you like it or not!

Try it w/some thick pork chops and let me know. Just don't cook them as long and throw it all in initially. Don't see why it wouldn't work. Something to do withe the Coke mixing in w/the meat to tenderize it. Actually a Chef I know told me about it. Guy went to some big Chef school in NY. He can, for sure, crank some good stuff out.

Trust me it's the real deal. When I first tried it I couldn't believe I was doing it. Now it's my #1 go to for a roast. Try it and enjoy. BOTH my daughters thought I was nuts. Problem was there wasn't any left for me!

Try this Mr Crock Pot: Find a nice sized roast somewhere, a bag of redskin potatoes, bag of baby carrots, couple cans of Campbell's mushroom soup and 1 12 oz. can of coke. Throw in the roast, 2 cans of mushroom soup and 12 oz can of Coke (only Coke, no diet stuff) and fire it up on high for about 2 hours. Halve the taters (as many as you want) and toss the carrots in at that point for an hour or so, turn it down to low until the taters n carrots are done. Don't EVEN question the Coke either. There won't be any left. YES CHEF! (ketchup if you want it)

^^^^^^^^^ Looks like "Hammer time!" Hit some soundtracks nosin for something. Didn't see it so have to thunk on it a bit more. Did find this one from 1986, "The Color of Money," which was a great movie with a fantastic soundtrack.

@rplace Was thinking you were in Ohio for some reason? That venue in Lima, Ohio used to draw some pretty good groups but when I heard they were going to be there I was going. Either with someone or by myself. Maybe 500 max squeezed in there for each show but w/the snow that day they just did the one show. Very few showed cause of the snowstorm. I called the guy and asked if it was on about 1:30 and he said yes but they moved the time to 4. It's 2 hours there on a 2 lane highway from here. I had a Dodge Charger and the pedal was to the metal the entire way. I couldn't see 50 yards in front of me. Another stupid kid moment but I was going. Period! Think it took forever coming home and it didn't matter at all then. School the next morning was a drag but I did it. Trust me I've done a ton of crazy stuff in my life. Just a lil slice of it. Not concerned about diggin and boasting about what I did. Just my life experiences. Simple. I give insanity new meaning around here w/the stuff I do! Ha!

Roger Williams huh? One of the best imo. I have a couple of his albums here. One is brown and fantastic. The Falling Leaves or something like that. ALWAYS resonated with me. Musta been those piano lessons I hated so much. hahaha. Nice choice Paul.

Yanno there are soooo many things I've seen at my age and I've seen a lot happen in the music business. It's been my first love and will be my last even though I didn't work in it for a lifetime. I had probably one of the best guitar players from Ohio since Joe Walsh question me about a couple guys I know. He said tell me a funny story you know about this guy then wanted to know something else about the other guy in the business. I told him straight up that if he thought I was going to tell him a funny story about a true friend of mine then he was talking to the wrong guy. He couldn't get over the fact I was safeguarding my friendship w/someone I knew to prove myself to him. I told him well if I told you a funny story then you could just go to google and check to see if it happened. He said yup that's what I was gonna do. I told him to just go check google for a funny story about him. Why ask me. He was HOT when I said that to him. Here's the bottom line w/me. I have NO reason to lie to anyone about anything so why do it? It's just going to bite you in the rear and it ALWAYS does at some point. Would I throw a true friend under the bus? Never! So why does he think I'm going to tell him a funny story? I could care less if he's that shallow of a person. Yea buddy, ya might be good but your heads still in the cycle position. Yea, ya played w/Warren Haynes a couple times but what happened? No funny stories about other people who are legends? It's about respect that's EARNED not stories about others. Yea, I'm sure he saw what I'm seeing in you now. GTFOH

The funny thing about all of that was EC spoke slowly when we talked. I couldn't understand a word anyone else was saying and they were laffing because they KNEW no one understood a word they were saying so the the slang started and they laffed harder. EC knew yet was off to the side of them a bit just putting his stuff away while we talked. He was done for the night but the rest of the guys were the draw. That's why I'm a big fan of EC. There's more to that story too. It was all about putting it together, which I'd never done before. It all works I guess. Thanks for the post too btw. I was typing and tappin my foot!

@DizRotusGroups were everywhere back then and most of the guys "kinda" kept diary's for taxes and accountability, etc. Everyone wanted to make a buck just like today. Today it's MAJOR bucks. Why document it? They played because they loved playing. I was answering a question my youngest daughter posed to me a while back about a guy I knew. I had some stuff he signed for me and she wanted to know if I had another thing of his that was VERY rare and worth major bucks, which got me to thinking. So somehow I found a timeline for the him and members of the group he was in. Yea, he was there w/me that nite or I was with him after the show. That nite a couple of the other guys turned in early cause the next day they were flying to Bermuda to look at a couple houses and that was right. It said that the next day he flew back to NYC. Seriously? We were up all nite drinking a bottle or two of Cutty Sark. When we sobered up enough we left the hotel and found a dive bar and continued to drink Cutty neat until people realized who he was. Got a cab and hit another bar. We must have hit 5-6 bars that day. I've been totally trashed in my life before but NEVER a 24 hour drunk like that. Taxi back to the hotel where I passed out in a chair. The moral to the story? Kids today don't know squat about the value of anything and just cause someone says it's rare? Seriously? hahahaha Yea, Imma gonna croak someday and you and your sister are going to get it all but come on kid. Cherish the things that meant the most to me cause NO one else has it or ever will. I laffed HARD at the "rarity" of the item too. Kids!
