  1. Use the roof AS the antennae!
  2. 1. make sure you see the roofing in person, and hopefully see it installed somewhere. brochures and websites can make anything look great. 2. the roof is only as good as the installer. make sure you use someone that is familiar with the product, and that can give you a warranty that will be worth something if (when) you develop a problem. 3. make sure you keep a few extra panels "for a rainy day". if the manufacturer goes under, or if they change the stock colors, you would be covered for a repair. my $.02 chris
  3. Rick, it wasn't stolen, but it was ABOUT to be buried in the back yard! I hate it when a good dog goes BAD...
  4. I haven't seen the movie, I just know that there are lots of GOOD dogs from every breed. Next time we get together, I'll introduce you to my personal "greeter".
  5. m00n, don't get the wrong impression. I'm not trying to have fun at your expense. The last Pitbull thread got some people upset, and I was just trying to put a lighter spin on things. I thought I was being funny, but my apologies if you thought I was being rude. peace
  6. I only turned my back for a second! WARNING: graphic photo
  7. That Shorthorn auction sure got exciting...
  8. real name: Delicious C. Shizzle Papa C. Flava Trick Magnet B. Dazzle forum name: Professor Truth M. Kicks Pimp Daddy M. Silk Bishop Don Skillz porn name: (I thought the street name came first, then the pet's name) second avenue dragon
  9. I'm pretty sure there is a disproportionate amount of in-breeding where m00n lives, it just doesn't have anything to do with dogs!
  10. Krispy, thanks but that's not my dog. I downloaded it from a Cane Corso web site. They are bred for hunting stag, and come in a range of colors. I also believe Corsos killed some people in San Francisco a few years back. Here IS a picture of my dog, which could be a Corso's cousin, but without the cut tail and ears. I tell people that he has Bull Mastiff in him (with Labrador and Sharpei), and don't get a lot of trouble. He is well socialized with both people and other dogs, is neutered, but he seems to have a problem with cats. GOOD BOY! Chris
  11. When people ask, I just say "NAAAAHH, he's a Cane Corso." Chris
  12. The model H basically is an early Heresy, though I've never heard one. Those shorthorns are getting bid up quickly, which is fun to see since mine are NICER, and with sequential serial numbers. The sound is very good, but it is a better complement to the Klipschorn than it is a rival. Chris
  13. Check the "Klipschorn Placement?" thread in Technical Questions. Should answer your question, and with helpful pictures. Chris
  14. You could use plumbers putty. Just roll it onto a thin "snake" and place it between the horn lens and motorboard. Airtight, watertight , thin as you want, and it will never adhere permanently to either surface. Chris
  15. Mitch, If FedEx Ground allowed you to ensure an item for an amount, knowing they would not honor your claim, that constitutes FRAUD, no matter what the small print says. Is it really only $69 (including insurance) to ship a 123 pound speaker (plus packing) from MI to TX? When they try to settle, REFUSE. Leave the onus on them. They can't satisfy your claim unless you are satisfied, or instructed to be satisfied by a judge in small claims court. If it goes to small claims court, be sure to sue for all legal expenses. I still hope this will be resolved by them finding your speaker. Chris If the president of FedEx Ground wanted to ship a vintage item valued at more than $100 would he need to use UPS?
  16. I could understand them not wanting to pay on some vintage item that was damaged in transit by YOUR negligence, but I can't understand them not paying your claim for something THEY LOST! I would hate to think it isn't lost, that someone on the shipping chain FOUND it and has a sweet new center channel. For your sake, I truly hope this works out in the best possible way. If not, you will be able to collect the fair market value of the item. As a single, it should be worth more than half of the pair, but they may not give you that. The fair market value shouldn't be determined by them, at any time. I didn't catch the sales price, but that may be the closest indicator of market value. Best of luck! Chris
  17. The Atlas PD-4V drivers I have here came from a pair of Speakerlab Khorns, which is why I mentioned it. They are quite different from the Atlas PD-5VH (early K-55V) driver, and require a different network. I currently use the Speakerlab bass bins (large square magnet) with AA Klipsch networks (came with L-Pads), University SA-HF mid-drivers & Altec 511B horns, and University HF-206 tweeters. The tweeters are mounted in the mouth of the 511B lenses. The tweeters that came with the SK's looked identical to alnico Klipsch K-77's, and the woofers looked a lot like K-33-P's. PD-5VH drivers are held together with 6 visible screws, while the PD-4V drivers are not. The biggest internal difference, I believe, is that the PD-4V lacks a phase plug. Hope this helps. Chris
  18. The midrange driver could be Atlas PD-4V, a much different animal than the PD-5VH. Chris
  19. Whamo, I sent you an email. Chris
  20. Thanks Bob, If both the male (to horn) and female (to driver) threads are the same as the K-55-V threads, I would be interested in a single adaptor. If anyone has a cheaper alternative, please chime in. Otherwise, I will contact you, Bob, in the next couple days. Thanks again, Chris
  21. BUMP. Just trying to keep this one on the page. Help, anyone?
