  1. Hi All, I'm looking for a pair of Icon WB-14 speakers (https://www.klipsch.com/products/wb-14-bookshelf-speaker) in very good to excellent condition, preferably in Espresso finish but I'll probably take Cabernet if the condition is great. Thanks.
  2. OK, OK. I have one small change to make once my latest purchase arrives. No, it's not more Palladiums. 🙂 One I get that in place I'll post pics to the "Lets see YOUR Home Theater" thread in the Home Theater forum and post a link to the entry back here.
  3. Ha, someone else who uses P-37F as surrounds. I'm using them as rear surrounds. I had to stick with P-27S for the side surround because of the narrow width of my room. I'm also using P-17B for front and rear heights for immersive surround. PDellisanti - Would you take KLF-30 in mahogany finish in trade? 😁
  4. Listing ended. That was fast.
  5. It's this listing, right? https://www.ebay.com/itm/153447171623 It's been on eBay for a long time. I guess he doesn't realized how overpriced those are.
  6. The only Palladiums I've seen come up for sale in the US in a while. Maybe the seller would consider breaking up the set. https://www.ebay.com/itm/183838319904 "Klipsch Palladium Luxury Zebra Wood Speaker Set. Set includes 1 P27-C center speaker in expresso color, 2 P312-W subwoofers in natural finish, 2 P39-F tower speakers in natural finish, and 2 P27-S surround speakers in natural finish. The set is in very good used condition with one tower and 2 subwoofers in original packaging. The one exception to the very good condition is the unboxed P39-F has a tweeter in need of repair, all else is very good condition with minor surface blemishes."
  7. Not mine. https://www.ebay.com/itm/183838319904 "Klipsch Palladium Luxury Zebra Wood Speaker Set. 8. The Palladium speakers (and subsequent speakers using the technology) have compression driver tweeters that have feature a linear travel suspension. It's not that LTS tweeters are not used as compression drivers. This page has an exploded view picture: https://www.klipsch.com/products/r-51m-5-1-home-theater-system. Unfortunately, it's unlabeled and there are really no details in description.
  9. You picked a bad time to get into Palladiums. They are getting very tough to find. I had to get the last pair to finish my setup from Scotland. Almost everything on HiFi Shark is in Europe. I guess Palladiums were more popular there then in the US. https://www.hifishark.com/search?q=klipsch+palladium
  10. There is one for sale on eBay in Espresso: https://www.ebay.com/itm/312587584353. Has some scratches.
  11. That's $3898 right now. A little more that I wanted to pay but beggars can't be choosers.
  12. I found a pair of P-37F but I had to get them from Scotland. 😲 Luckily, the air freight shipping wasn't too bad. Can't wait until they get here. For some reason the listing is still up: https://www.audioemotion.co.uk/klipsch-p-37f-floorstanding-loudspeaker---preowned-17682-p.asp.
  13. If you are going to consider the Academy for a center, if possible audition it first. I owned one and had it as a center with original Fortes. I did not find it to be a sonic match at all (despite Klipsch marketing it as such). From the moment I started using it, I was aware of the sound character change in the center as sounds panned across the front. It was very disconcerting and was a constant distraction. Soon after I got it I went back to the dealer and made a deal to trade it in for a single Heresy II. I have been happy with that decision ever since. I now have KLF-30s where those Forte used to be and the Heresy works well as a center with those too. The Academy is not a bad speaker but in my opinion it's no match for the 3-way Heritage/Forte family/Legend series speakers. It sounds much more like a kg series speaker. If you have to have a horizontal center I would think the KLF-C7 might be a closer match due to the larger horn and higher sensitivity for a 2-way speaker. But I haven't had a chance to hear it.
  14. Hi All, I need a pair of Klipsch Palladium P-17B or P-37F in Natural to complete my Palladium Atmos system. If you have any to sell or know of any for sale, please let me know. Thanks.
  15. I have a Palladium home theater consisting of P-37F L&R, P-27C, P-27S sides, P-17B rears and front heights. I have heard the RF-7 III at a dealer. To my ears the Palladuims win hands down except in the bass region. With good subs that one advantage for the RF-7 III disappears. (I have a pair of VMPS Original Subs in the system so I have no lack of bass.) I've never really been thrilled with the sound of any Reference or Reference Premier (or really any 2-way Klipsch consumer speakers). The Klipsch sound to me is what I hear from Heritage speakers, 3-way Legend Series (KLF), or Palladiums. I have KLF-20 and KLF-30 in my other systems. I bought all my Palladium speakers used. I'm not sure I would have paid the retail price for them but used market prices (usually less than half retail) seemed worth it to me. The sound is more "refined". It sounds to me that Klipsch and B&Ws got "busy" and had Palladiums as children. They have refinement like B&W but with Klipsch dynamics. It's true that they are getting much harder to find. I've been looking for one more pair of P17B in Natural for rear heights (using AW-650 now) and haven't been able to find them. So, you may be better off looking for some Heritage (used or new), 3-way Legend Series (used), or if you have the space/money/WAF Jubes.
  16. Thanks. I know there are plenty of stand options out there. My question was more curiosity about what Klipsch intended to sell as Palladium stands. At $800 a pair for the bookshelf stands and $650 for the center stand I would hope that they would have Linea finishes and maybe boat tail styling.
  17. That's not the same as either stand number I mentioned and is much less expensive. I doubt that's it.
  18. Hi All, I've seen references (e.g. on the P-27C spec sheet) to stands for the P-17B and P-27C. One article on the web said "The PFS-24 accessory floor stand is priced at $800 per pair, while the PFS-18 center stand is $650 each." I can find no references to these when searching the Klipsch site and have found no pictures of them on the net. Anyone know if these were ever made available and what they looked like? Thanks.
  19. For someone who wants to jump into Palladiums with an instant 5.1 system... https://www.audiogon.com/listings/lis99b97-klipsch-palladium-espresso-system-p-17b-p27c-p312w-p27s-home-theater
  20. Used Palladium sub in Florida. Price seems a little steep. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-P-312W-Palladium-12-inch-Subwoofer-W-Original-Box-and-MICROPHONE/352536527425
  21. I don't hoard them. All of my Palladiums are in use. 😀 I have other speakers in storage though. So I guess you could say I am hoarding Klipsch.
  22. To be fair, I think that the seller got bad information from his boss (the public figure) who owned the speakers. He was asked to sell them but didn't have access to them until that sale. He got all the pics/info from his boss. I believe the story because the the public figure is a musician and I went to the band's studio to pick up the speakers. I got a full tour of the studios. I'm pretty sure the seller's business is usually used to sell the band's old gear.
  23. At least the trip wasn't a total bust. A friend/former colleague of mine lives in Nashville. On Friday night we went out to dinner (Nashville Hot Chicken - it's hot for sure!) and then went to some of the clubs in town to hear some live music. Wow, Nashville really is the "music city". There are tons of 3-4+ story clubs and you can hear a different live act on almost every floor. There was also a much wider variety of music playing than I expected. I'm not a fan of country music but I found myself enjoying some of the country acts immensely. My favorite was The Don Kelley Band at Robert's Western World. Those guys can play! I even bought their new live CD that they were selling at the club. I think that's my first country CD. 🙂
  24. Follow the Reverb link at the beginning of this thread to see who the seller is.
  25. Needless to say it was a very disappointing weekend. I traveled over 12 hours one way by car to pick these up since I figured it would be cheaper and less risky that shipping. I was assured by the seller that "everything that came with the speakers originally is in the box with the speakers.. nothing has been opened or touched, boxes were opened to take photos of speakers for sale only". Unfortunately that did not turn out to be the case. There were no boxes at all. The only packaging was one side of foam for the center and the cloth bags for the center and sub. The grill for the sub was missing. Since they didn't take the center all the way out of the remaining packaging for the pictures, they didn't notice that the piece of metal in the middle with the Klipsch logo had come off and then stuck to the top of the veneer. You can see this if you look really closely at the picture from the add. Unfortunately, removing it pulled off an inch long strip of the veneer. Finally, someone had stuck rubber feet with permanent adhesive on the bottom of the wall-hanging surrounds. No one wasn't going to attempt remove them after what happened with the center. I though about taking the sub without the grill but then decided I didn't want to then argue about how much just the sub was going to be by itself. I just backed out of the whole deal. They did refund me promptly but I'm still out the money for several tanks of gas, about 50,000 Marriott points for the hotel stays, and two days of driving. From now on no more speaker pick ups more than I'm able to round trip in one day. Since this didn't turn out well I don't think I'll reveal the backstory since it involves public figures who may not want negative attention from this. Sorry.
