  1. Hi ! I wanted to show you some pictures from my environment where I live with my family. We live in the third largest metropolitan area in Europe, the " Rhein -Ruhr " area, is after London and Paris the most densely populated region in Europe with about 6 million people. We live on the edge of this region in a beautiful natural landscape and environment. In the Second World War the Rhine-Ruhr area was the war armoury of Adolf Hitler. Here were also the famous "KRUPP factories " where all the tanks and aircraft parts were produced. After the war, these areas of North Rhine and Westphalia were occupied by the Allies, in this case the British.Today this is a federal state and is called North Rhein-Westphalia with a population of 18 million people. It lies in the west of Germany. Only less than 2 miles away from our house we have a beautiful lake In the immediate vicinity of the lake we have a fortress and a water castle Every year there are recreational festivals and concerts on the lake, except this year

  7. Had some inside picture from the CW III`s somewhere, but need to find them first. It´s the original foam . Normal wood screws are used. It is normal that these leave chips in the cabinet. This happens when you screw in the screws. Just screw the screws on the horns carefully, nothing happens . The front and rear of the cabinet have the greatest natural resonances. These must be reduced. The top / bottom and side panels are statically stable. You can get in touch with : mail@der-klangarchitekt.de . They speak englisch .
  8. @RandyH Did you already notice that our discussion in this thread generated over 41.900 clicks ? Believe that this thread is of interest. Had a lot of fun with you . Hope it's all good with you.
  9. The left CW III is original the right CW III is modified with additionally installed wooden bracing You can use "MDF" or better "Birch tree-Multiplex" Wood for the construction. We did it from one big piece of Wood. You have to check the real distance from inside front to back, but add 2 or 3 Millimeter because front and back will move a little bit to outside when putting the construcion inside the box. One important detail/feature of the construction is to stabilize the woofer and mid-driver at his back side. Because it hangs normaly free inside the box. And this is not good. So you have to check the distance/place of the back position of Woofer and mid-driver. There we do a threaded into the wood to push the driver against the front of the loudspeaker. Now, the realy powerful movements of the driver while playing music become silent. Because of that, the dynamic become much more accurate.
  10. Here it becomes even more complicated. It´s not a Mac ..it´s a MAG or this one ....
  11. @sputnikYou have a wonderful record collection. Every record you introduce is older than me.
  12. Hi ya fellas, I notice that you all continue to have a lot of joy, fun and exchange in this thread. It's a pity that I don't have much time at the moment to dedicate to my beloved hobby. It is summer in Europe, we spend most of our free time outdoors now and enjoy the beauty of nature. In addition, I have to take care of the really very large garden around our house and our pool in my free time. Who of you owns a pool knows a lot of work that is, despite all the pumps and filter systems. We have also been to the coast in the Netherlands and had some wonderful days there. The Netherlands is our direct neighbour and the North Sea coast is only 3 hours drive away. I just wanted to let you know that everything is fine. I read here regularly, even if I do not always want to comment everything. As soon as I listen to records again you will be there. When I have time to listen to music, my Marantz NA 8005 network player runs, mostly I only listen to "groovin Lounge style summer music ". I think of you, see you soon

Maybe we should also give him the new HEINZ ketchup puzzle as a present. There are only 570 pieces and they look the same. That would be a challenge for @BigStewMan
  16. I have owned this TT for a good 38 years. It is from the legendary Japanese manufacturer " MICRO SEIKI ". The model is called DQX 500 S. Every 2 years I change the oil for the disc drive and for the tonearm lift every 5 years. It is quartz controlled and has a direct drive. In addition, I have MM / MC / transistor phono preamplifiers and also phono tube preamplifiers. I use exclusively Moving Iron systems from Grado, Soundsmith, Nagaoka and Osawa JohnJ`s TT is a Pro-Ject with an 9cc Carbon Tonearm and a Audio Technica AT33 Cardridge. He´s using a Pro-Ject DS II Tube Phono Pre Amplifier. @JohnJ Correct me if I'm wrong.
  17. These are the facts ...... Besides artists like Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix is also part of Club 27, consisting of musicians who died at the age of 27. Before Hendrix's death on September 18, 1970, his already extensive drug use intensified. The consequences included severe depressions of the exceptional guitarist. Some shows turned into a catastrophe due to the influence of drugs, including his last big gig at the Love And Peace Festival on the Baltic Sea island of Fehmarn on 6 September 1970. Apart from that, the whole festival was a disastrous mixture of bad organisation and stormy weather. Jimi Hendrix travelled to London exhausted after his performance. On September 16th Hendrix could be heard once again at a jam session in Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club with Eric Burdon and War, whose recording is much sought after by collectors. He spent the following two nights in the apartment of his friend Monika Dannemann in the Samarkand Hotel in Notting Hill. On September 18, 1970 he was brought unconscious to St. Mary Abbot's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by Dr. John Bannister. It turned out that Jimi Hendrix had consumed large quantities of sleeping pills with alcohol and had choked on his vomit. Jimi Hendrix's girlfriend Monika Dannemann found him early in the morning of the day he died. It had been her pills that Hendrix mixed with red wine. Born in Düsseldorf, she met the rock star in her hometown in 1969. Contrary to reports to the contrary, she always claimed to have had a closer relationship with Hendrix, whom he is said to have even proposed marriage to. Hendrix' relationship with the Danish model Kirsten Nefer, which lasted until shortly before his death, played no role in her portrayal.
  18. You should never forget who the real mastermind was at Alan Parson Project. On both albums, Tales of Mysteries......and I Robot it was not only Allan Parsons but essentially Eric Woolfson. In 1974, Woolfson met record producer Alan Parsons at the Abbey Road Studios in London where both were working on different projects. Parsons asked Eric to become his manager and they worked together with a number of bands and artists including Pilot, Cockney Rebel, John Miles, Al Stewart, Ambrosia and The Hollies. Subsequently, Eric and Alan formed The Alan Parsons Project, the name originally being intended as a working title for their collaborative project. From 1976 to 1987, Woolfson and Parsons collaborated on the conception and lyrics for all ten albums by The Alan Parsons Project, which have achieved worldwide sales in excess of 50 million. On every Project album, Woolfson would sing a guide vocal track for each song, which the album's eventual lead vocalists would use as a reference. Some of these tracks can be heard on the new remastered editions of various Project albums released in 2007. Woolfson himself was the actual singer on many of the Project's biggest hits, such as "Time", "Don't Answer Me", "Prime Time" and the band's signature tune "Eye in the Sky", which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 on 16–30 October 1982.
