  1. Being a Rotel owner as well (though not of the models you specified) I went with the silver faceplates. To me it was much more appealing than the black. Just a personal preference. ~shoe
  2. Matt~ Tweeter is mostly warehouse centric. Meaning they keep all the stuff at a central location and then ship to the store needed stock as orders are placed. With anything other than the 3 series gear, you'll most likely have to place your order and wait a few days. I had to order all the Reference pieces I have in my sig. ~shoe
  3. Matt~ Denon has a new 2900 series DVD/SACD/DVDA player coming out around May. MSRP is supposed to be $999. A little higher than you were looking, but thought I'd mention it. ~shoe
  4. Ok everyone ante up and let's see who got what. List only the gear you got on clearance from Tweeter and affiliates and what you paid. None of this "I'm thinking about this" or "considering that". Only hardcore, I have it in my house right now qualifies. As for myself: Not a damn thing. Next..... ~shoe

They are continuing to produce and sell their top-of-the-line products. ---------------- Codeack~ I think many Heritage/Reference owners aren't so sure of that statement. As your reply to this thread is your first posting on the forum let me first say hello and nice to have you on board. Now I'm going to pick your arguments apart! Actually in all seriousness I agree with the majority of your comments regarding Klipsch's needs/rights as a company to diversify their product offerings and update the avenues available to consumers to better find those offerings. I think most everyone on this board would say more money/exposure for Klipsch is good for all of us who wish to enjoy their speakers now and in the future. Without knowing your knowledge/ownership level with respect to Klipsch let me offer a few more substantial reasons for people's concerns regarding this recent change besides the one you noted that being, "Our Heritage/Ref speakers somehow immediately suck now that the Synergy line is at Best Buy" 1. For many of us there is absolutely no ability to either hear or obtain the Heritage line of speakers. 2. For many of us the removal of the Klipsch Reference line from all stores affiliated with Tweeter, Inc. makes it more difficult to continue to purchase Reference line products within our area. 3. Of the 14 new products released by Klipsch this year as "Reference" models only one of those can truly (at least in my mind) be called Reference. That being the new top bookshelf model. Sorry I forgot the model once I realized Tweeter wouldn't have them anyway. As I said before, I agree with Klipsch right to diversify as a business and really don't care about the Synergy line going to Best Buy (I never looked at them anyway), but from what I've seen and experienced myself, I have seen very little to indicate that Klipsch is in fact interested in growing or even maintaining it's customers who enjoy and/or want to purchase Klipsch's premium brands. When I see news releases from Klipsch with headlines such as: "Heritage Distribution Update......You can find them now and we've already made them" "Klipsch debuts 14 new high end Reference models and extended Heritage models" Then as a high-end consumer I'll feel better about the current changes. Again welcome to the forum. ~shoe

Am I supposed to remove that cable if am going to connect them using bare wire? Which is what I am using. ---------------- Only remove those straps if you plan to bi-wire. If you aren't simply thread the wire to the LF binding posts with the straps in place. If you decide to bi-wire then you remove the straps and hook up LF and HF respectively. ~shoe
  7. Ok for the non-nerdly and non-Heritage owners amongst us, just what the hell is Paul's favorite phrase? ~shoe
  8. Justin~ Just made the same decision and went with the RB-5's. I'll use the system more for SACD/DVDA playback than movies, so I thought I'd get more use from them than the RS. Not to mention the fact that if I'm not using them in the main system, I can steal them away for a 2-channel stereo setup in the bedroom. I got them in black ash with the 26" Sanus Ultimate Foundations. I ran them in a bit in place of the 7's and I'm very impressed with how they sound. HTH ~shoe
  9. Gonna be damn boring around here once Tweeter sells out of Klipsch!!!! ~shoe
  10. Denon 3802 for HT Rotel RC-1070/RB-1070 pre/power for 2-Channel ~shoe
  11. Assuming regular MSRP for the RF-7 and RC-7, that's almost half the price you'd normally have to pay for the same upgrade. Are these open-box/floor models or brand new? I'd say it's a good deal and I'd do it if I had your current setup. Of course this is just my opinion. Without knowing anything about you, your budget, room, etc there could also be tons of reasons to not upgrade. Anyway it's a good deal relative to MSRP. ~shoe
  12. ---------------- On 3/13/2003 8:34:45 AM skonopa wrote: Nope, not a single heritage speaker in sight. I asked. I would have loved to scored a pair of LaScalas on clearance, but no dice. I think Heritage was available only through special order. I don't think Tweeters kept any in stock. ---------------- Yep that's correct. Only by special order. ~shoe
  13. Stephen Yeah it was Klipsch that left Tweeter not the other way around. If you want to make that upgrade you better do it fast. Tweeter doesn't have alot of Klipsch 5 and 7 series product left. That's with respect to the NE region. Apparently the RF-5's are down to $1000 now, but if you want them you better not wait. Of course you could also just hang on to your 3's and see what other lines Tweeter is planning to bring in now that Klipsch has left for Best Buy. ~shoe
  14. Is this clearance advertised by Tweeter or are you guys just calling your local Tweeter and asking about it? I looked all over the Tweeter site, but saw no mention of it. I would appreciate the scoop on this either via the forum or private message. Thanks, ~shoe
  15. For music any of the RSW's will make you happy. ~shoe
  16. For those with RB-5's and using stands, what height/stands did you end up going with? I've got the 26' Sanus Ultimate Foundations coming in on Friday. I suspect most everyone bought in the range of 22 to 26. Just curious. ~shoe

  19. "Imagine; the full heritage line on display in one room, Reference in another, with Aragon and a killer video display." Not just in store, but in stock? Now that would be a great idea. ~shoe
  20. Just a quick review.... 680 views, 42 posts and no one has yet said they bought a pair of home audio speakers from Best Buy. Mr. Jacobs, no one doubts that market changes necessitate continual evolution of a company's business, but at least with respect to the dropping of the Tweeter retail relationship and the recent release of 14 Reference models which best could be as described as hi end Synergy/ very low end Reference (an 8 inch sub?), for many of us there is a strong perception of Klipsch's lack of continued interest in the high end audio consumer. This does not even begin to mention the almost complete lack of Heritage availability both in store and available via special order. As audiophiles and Klipsch enthusiasts, these issues are very concerning and quite frankly Klipsch hasn't addressed them. Additionally a word to the wise... While the Pro Media line is a great sounding multimedia system, given the 5.1's terrible reliability record, I would hardly suggest basing your expectations for future Synergy sales on the sales experience that many of your customers have had with the Pro Media line. And don't try to say that the problems are a small sample. We have a guy on this forum who's made a 2nd career as an automated response system for your company in replying to people who's Pro Medias have stopped working. I myself bought a 5.1 system believing these problems were a small percentage, but in under a year I'm already on my 2nd set. Beyond my personal experience, there are numerous posts on this forum wherein many people are already on their 3rd and 4th sets....and they are still failing. I guess from a business perspective though so long as the customer buys a set who cares how many times they fail. You've already got our money. Tread lightly with your confidence of the Pro Media line. It's easy to do. Many of your customers feel that way every time they turn their 5.1's on. Challenge still stands. Somebody step up and show Klipsch at least one person who's bought home audio speakers from Best Buy. ~shoe

It seems no matter what I do to the settings, my towers(RF-3IIs mind you) seem to do a better job. I tried the right corner which my mains are at and its doing this. Had the tower and sub switched still same thing. A little bit foward that is about the same lenght of the sub closer. I did this to perhaps help set the phase to exactly what my towers were doing. Some improvement but still detectable. It could be my room, could just be my ears noticed stuff. My room is a small 11 by 10 foot by 8 foot room that is enclosed from the outside. My reciver is a Yamaha RX-V992 and I am useing Monster Bass 300 Cable. I dunno where my scanner is so I'll have to tell how my room is. Right now I have my towers about 2 feet from the side walls and 1 foot from the back. My bed is on the middle back and is a twin size bed. I don't think my dresser or nightstand is going to make much diffence. If you need any other info just ask. Any answers would be great, thank you in advance. ---------------- If your RF-3's are "doing a better job" and you are absolutely sure you've tried everything, take it back to the dealer and have them order you another one. I can set mine anywhere in the room with my RF-7's and there is still no way the 7's will do a "better job" ~shoe
  22. Very happy with it. Wouldn't buy SVS. Nothing but their salespeople on here propagandizing all the time! ~shoe
