  1. Just got this in the mail yesterday and I'm pretty much speechless as to what I've just heard.  IF you can believe that!

I've known this guy for years, have everything he's ever done, love his wife and just can't say enough about his work.  Ya might just have seen him a few years ago when his "shovel guitar" pretty much went viral.  Justin Johnson made the transition to Nashville wanting to fulfill every artist's dream.  Hooked up with Johnny Cash's son, John Carter Cash and his wife.  Recorded several albums/cd's @ the Cash Cabin Studio in Hendersonville with so many great "old" guys like Bootsy Collins and session dudes that Johnny knew and used.  So by golly they did it!  Formed "The Cash Collective" and put out an album called "Hey Crow!"  My thoughts?  Don't hesitate if you want vinyl cause copies are limited, cd's are just that, cd's!  Check their merch stores.  Great lp!

Had this "best of" album ONCE!  Thinking @MicroMara must have borrowed it in his first life!  Released in 1969 after they split in 1968.

"Communique" released in 1979 hit the charts well in every country except the US where it peaked @ 11.  Proof that these Germans are clueless about what they're hearing since it hit #1 there!  😂

"Love Over Gold" seemed to start their true climb here in the US reaching 19 on the Billboard charts before being certified gold.  Mark Knopfler was gaining the recognition he deserved.  Even though it was only given a 4 of 5 star rating I, for the most part, enjoy it very much.  Knopfler is struttin his stuff and breaking away from his "norm."  Their 4th released in 1982.

Hand her a shovel and she might not like it so much.  hahaha  Will be slush or frozen by evening w/your temps.  Just go find a shovel and spray it down with some Pam and wait for her to ask.  Safer that way maybe.  😂

Everyone who ever rode a bicycle thinks that they can ride a motorcycle. Everyone who ever had a Flexible Flyer thinks that they can run a snowmobile. Add alcohol to the mix and it's a recipe for disaster.

Agree but she was stone cold sober.  Didn't drink or smoke dope.  Just a lil ditzy.  It happens.  Now better get back to the topic.  Sorry to hi-jack the thread.

  5. Snowmobiles are fun up North in Michigan.  One local bar owner lost his head 25 years ago running at warp 3 trashed.  One single strand of barbed wire running on someone's farm and he didn't see it.  Another good looking ditzy chick went up with a group a few years ago and after riding wanted to drive one.  The guys hooked her up and off she went with them.  Panicked somehow and opened up the throttle and couldn't get back in control of it.  Hit a tree full throttle and broke her neck.  Beautiful woman I knew well along with her girls and their families.  Many around here have them and head North every winter and ride around here all the time.  Think I'd rather break a leg skiing.  :)

  6. Ha!  About time you surfaced brother!  Southern Florida rock?  Pffffft!  For you?  I almost gave up so today I've been flying solo!  FINALLY got to sit down and relax a bit.  Unzipping a few too!

RSD find of a previously unreleased lp of him doing a radio talk show in Cleveland.  Not too shabby either.

Better than listening to the Cleveland Browns!

Dropped this off at the framer and she just finished it.  Gonna be a shrine in here when I'm done.  Bring your beads so you can run thru them while listening!  :)

Unplugged is a 1992 album by Eric Clapton, recorded at Bray Studios, England in front of an audience for the MTV Unplugged television series.  It includes a version of the successful 1991 single "Tears in Heaven" and an acoustic version of "Layla". It won six Grammy awards at the 35th Annual Grammy Awards in 1993 and became the bestselling live album of all time, and Clapton's bestselling album, selling 26 million copies worldwide.

  7. @Full Range I always enjoy reading your signature list.  That "highly modified" on your LS gets me every time!  hahaha  Now about that "modified" crossover you have, which naturally complements your "highly modified" LS so nicely...  😂  😂  I know where you live and I WILL find you some day!  😂 😎

  8. @Pete H ya took the words right outta my mouth.  Audio Advisor ugh.  He should have used that subscription money for cables, coffee, potato vodka or even a new toaster.  I know darn well I'll never see a toaster outta this place.  (shhh quiet it's reverse psychology and also DUCK SEASON! just might work in here) :)

  9. Nick and Urban?  They have just a bit of history btwn them yanno.  hahaha  Research that one in your spare time and you'll see an even bigger picture.  They're both alike.  No love lost w/OSU either since Nick was an assistant under Earle Bruce til Bruce fired him.  hahaha  OSU just lost Greg Mattison their Co-D coordinator to retirement and Urban poached prolly one of the best player personnel dudes in the country but said he's not touching anyone else.  Coach Day has that part under control but is more concerned with portal transfers and the recruiting class of 2021, which is LOADED already.  2022 is also loaded w/a couple guys who should have a definite impact.  Fields is gone along w/Sermon, linebacker, few linemen and our DE's.  We're covered but looking at LB's and D-backs for the most part.  Ex NFL coaches are a lot like EX wives.  That's why they're EX's.  Not worried about Nick @ all.  Rumors now the AD Gene Smith is talked about as becoming the PAC-12 commish.  IMO that's a good thing.  They can have him.  He's more about making money for the college at the players/fans expense, which sucks cause it's NOT the NFL like he thinks it is.  Uni's listen though and want that cause it's all about the money.  Off season now and to be quite honest with Covid?  Not much of a sport season at all.

  10. @grasshopper It will be HOT in no time I'm sure.  Daughter loves it in Phoenix but you know that.  Said she's never coming back to Ohio so we'll see where she winds up.  Her birthday was last Sunday and I called to wish her a happy birthday.  She was trashed sitting in the Phoenix OSU alumni hang out.  I always sing Happy Birthday to the fam when I call and check in so she was alllll gushy when I got done.  I was laffin at her then she asked who my fav OSU football player was.  The last time she pulled something like that she'd been seeing OSU's Heisman winner Troy Smith for a year.  So I said I dunno who?  Archie Griffin?  Arch out there?  She said no.  How about Haskins?  I said Dwayne?  He there?  He just got cut by the Redskins.  She said well maybe.  I said nooo he's too young for you and laffed.  She said just watch Dad and you'll see.  Boom!  He signs w/the Steelers Tuesday.  So people around here are saying he's gonna be Ben's replacement.  Could happen but the thing they didn't factor in?  He was playing on the team when Mayfield did his famous flag plant in the Horseshoe when they beat OSU.  Wanna see a QB battle?  Watch.  Would give a lil twist to the Browns/Steelers games.

Torts are just about the same as calico's.  Brick shy of a load.  Oldest daughter picked her up as a kitten hanging around the local Taco Bell and brought her home for me.  Ugh.  Someone must have dumped her cause she sure did love burritos.  😂

  11. Thanks for the thoughts everyone but the LAST thing I wanted was a dog or cat.  I'm not here enough to really take care of them but do so when I'm around.  I'd leave for a while come back home and she was on the table waiting on a lil rub down.  Then she got the boot off the table.  They say calico's are strange and I'd have to agree.  She'd come up on the bed at night and want me to raise the covers so she could crawl in and lay next to me for a lil rub down til she got warm then out and down by my legs for the night.  Strange but she enjoyed it.  That's what it's all about I guess but she's much better off now.  The past couple weeks she's been all over me, which she never did.  Another something?  Ummm nope that won't happen.  It would prolly out live me!  lolol

  12. Perhaps too many martuni's Chuck?

Bittersweet day here yesterday.  The famous cat that fell thru the Heresy bass speaker hadn't been eating so took her to the vet yesterday. Was just crazy.  Tried another kind of high dollar food then some high dollar canned stuff.  I thought a tooth or something then found out when the vet picked her up she had a large tumor attached to her kidney and into her intestine.  The real reason she wasn't eating.  Either try to keep her alive for about a month or give her the shot of pink stuff.  She had a good life driving me insane.  Guess now I won't have to watch cat hairballs rolling across the floor like tumbleweed.  Kinda miss her being around actually.

  13. First group?  Allllllllll Motown!  Lesley Gore, Brenda Lee, Bobby Vee, Jay & the Americans locally at the county fair.  Don't ask me who was first I'm thinking it was Brenda Lee since I have a signed 45 by her.  Then toss in The original James Gang then add Joe to their mix.  Heck I dunno anymore.  Now I wonder where that 45 is...  Here somewhere I guess.  Dunno.
