Does this mean you are going to pay me a visit soon? I have a box of inputs and industrial handles and old style corners that needs to go to someone before I trash them. You work on old stuff far more than I do now.

Yep, and definitely hang onto that box for me. I'm keeping my eye open for projects as time and $ allow. I'll shout at you.

Here's another hint for y'all. Build the Anarchy Sub box a few inches thicker and use the 8" Tang Band Sub driver instead. This will give you another 6 db more output capability if you use the next up plate amp also for a few bucks more.

Old post here. I'm really thinking about building a couple of these Anarchy boxes as my 1st build. I'll be using them as bases for LSIs. I'd like to use 8" drivers, but the Tang Band is unavailable and requires ordering 50. I'm a relative newbie and don't understand driver specs well enough to choose a replacement. @ClaudeJ1would this one be suitable?  https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-DCS205-4-8-Classic-Subwoofer-4-Ohm-295-200

  3. Why do people feel the need to mention where they work at all? It's interesting how our identities are tied to our work.

And when people say (even reading it) they work, you almost feel dirty if you don't work😉

  4. I just completed a pair of '78s that had really rough trim. I experimented with several methods. The easiest and best turned out to be a scotchbrite-type pad for my angle grinder available at Lowes. Get a couple of packs. I clamped trim to a saw horse and used the angle grinder. It's very controllable and takes the anodized layer right off. I did not try to remove all the deep gouges, but left them for character. It will leave faint swirls but I removed these polishing by hand with aluminum polish. Far easier than sanding. I was happy with my results. Also, those corner pieces aren't aluminum. They're some sort of plated metal...mine were peeling. I sanded and painted them. Plating or powder coating the corners would be options, but pricey.

Big fan of the Audio Technica VM540ML here. Tracks like a freight train and is very accurate and revealing. Some don’t like that, though. I’ve been a happy AT user for over 20 years now. My second turntable has an Ortofon Blue, and I like that one, too, but still prefer the VM540.

I couldn't be happier with my VM540ml. It increased my vinyl enjoyment tremendously.

I will look into reinforcing the woofer door panel although I gotta say, after trying unsuccessfully to remove it a few days ago, I might not need to do too much reinforcing.

That seal around the access panel turns to goo after a period of years. You'll need to work patiently to remove it (wide paint scrapers worked for me to pry it open without damaging anything). Clean all the old seal residue off, check out the woofers and get new sealing gasket material from parts express.
